What does Apple mean by "For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete."

I just recently returned an IPad air and exchanged it for another. I first set up this new one as a new IPad but then deleted all content and settings right away (since I wasn't getting the progress I had made in apps and games) in order to restore it from my previous IPad Air. I then checked after on how to backup via icloud and saw this line under the subtitle of how to restore from a backup, "For best battery performance, leave your device connected to a power source until the restore is complete." What does Apple mean by "for best battery performance"? Im just a bit worried of issues.
p.s. And yes I did have it connected to the power. And the ios is the default ios for new IPad Airs.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
It only means you should restore whilst it is connected to a power supply, so that your battery doesn't go flat during the process.

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
If still not luck, your battery might have to be replaced:

• What does it mean when you receive a text on your iphone 6 form your own number and the message is duplicated on each side (sent/recieved) and has "verizon message" with a long number at the end of the text, duplicated as well?

what does it mean when you receive a text on your iphone 6 from your own number and the message is duplicated on each side (sent/received) and has "verizon message" with a long number at the end of the text, duplicated as well?

Great question stacybrownie! Let's get to the bottom of this so that it's not a cause for concern. When a message is sent to/from your own number, it will display as one sent, one received. This makes it display two messages as you are seeing. Let's clarify the second part of your question. Where do you see "Verizon Message" exactly? What is the long number at the end of the text? When did this start and is it with all text messages or only this instance?

• What does Apple Care+ cover for accidental?

I plan on getting the extra coverage, what does it cover? When they say it covers accidental coverage for $79 fee, what damage is covered under that?
Note: I plan on buying the coverage for the iPhone 6

From http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplusnaen.html:
3.2 Accidental Damage from Handling
If during the Plan Term you submit a valid claim notifying Apple that the Covered Device has failed due to accidental damage from handling (“ADH”), Apple will, subject to the service fee described below, either repair the defect using new or refurbished parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, or (ii) exchange the Covered Device with a replacement product that is new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability (both individually known as a “Service Event”). ADH coverage will expire and all of Apple’s obligations to you under this section 3.2 will be fulfilled in its entirety before the end of the Plan Term when Apple, as a result of ADH claims, has provided to you two (2) Service Events. ADH coverage only applies to an operational or mechanical failure caused by an accident from handling that is the result of an unexpected and unintentional external event (e.g. drops and liquid contact) that arises from your normal daily usage of the Covered Device as intended for such Covered Device. ADH coverage does not include (a) protection against normal wear and tear, theft, misplacement, reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct associated with handling and use of the Covered Device, (b) protection against any other act or result not covered by the Plan, as described in Section 4.2 below, or (c) any resultant damage to the Covered Device that arises from one or more conditions described in Section 3.2(a) or (b). Apple may ask you to provide an explanation of where and when the accident occurred with a detailed description of the actual event. Apple will deny your claim if you fail to pay the service fee or fail to provide information relating to the accident when asked.

• What does this mean? Is my battery the problem or is the software an issue??

As you can see.....it is plugged in. It shows the top right battery icon at full, but you can clearly see it's not. This is one of the problems I've been trying to get sorted out. Holding the home and power buttons are not going to help me fix this. I don't want to restore. I did that a million times. Does this mean I need a completely new battery? It won't charge, it won't turn on without it being plugged in, and when I turn the phone off...the charging screen doesn't appear. When I plug it in, the phone just boots up. Are there others who have had this same problem? I doubt updating to the lastest ios would have caused this. Please help. Thanks.

Ok, so I turned on the battery percentage indicator. It said the battery is at 3%. I also unplugged the charger and for some reason it hasn't shut off like it usually does. Now, I am trying to drain the battery. I put on a video and it still hasn't went down to 2%.........this all seems very strange to me.

Sometimes this message means that you have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
Sometimes it happens because a device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.

I believ this occured 2 years ago in playoffs. Maybe more. Forget, but the Leafs eliminated Flyers from POffs that year. The Flyers I also don't remember (the one knocked unconscious) but the one that was chasing him around was ... damn ... believe the last name began with an M, he is on the Rangers now... McArthy, thats right! Sandy Mcarthy.
As for Tucker. You are right. Every team needs a guy like him. Flyers have always had 1 or 2. Holding stick, flopping, and stuff. I really don't mind that, everybody does it... I even like Tucker from that point of view (though I hate watching my team fall victem to him :P).
If Quinn hates that style of play, why do the Leafs always rank in top 5 of penalties (the top this year) and among the top in fighting as well? If he wanted it stoppped it would stop. In fact he pushes for it, which you can see by the line match-ups he forces on ice. Also, he does complain a lot, but this is also a tactic. He complains to refs so they watch the other team more closely and will call penalties more on the other team. He does it well. (He is not the only one, Bowman used to do it, and Liniux (sp? does it for the Penquins...).

• What does it mean when a folder pops up on your ipod nano????? please help.

hi. i have a problem with my ipod. a folder poped up on it with an exclamation point and it says www.apple.com/support/ipod. i tried to restore and even reset my ipod and it won't let me do it. if anyone has any ideas on what i can do i would greatly appreciate it. thank you...
ipod nano Windows XP

Try booting into Disk Mode with the iPod connected to your computer.
To boot into Disk Mode, reset (Menu+Center), then when the screen goes blank, hold Center and Play.
Then try restoring.
If you can't get into Disk Mode, try going into Diagnostic Mode (Hold Center and Rewind instead of Center and Play.)
Then connect the iPod to your computer and select "Diskmode" on your iPod.
Hope this helps.

• I want a song i purchased on ipad with my apple id transferred to our family computer which is registered to my husbands apple id. But a message comes up saying 90days before can download? What does this mean i just want to play my song through the mac

I want a song purchased on my ipad with my apple id downloaded onto our home mac mini. So i can listen to it via that computer. However the mac is registered to my husbands apple id and it comes up with a message about 90days wait needed or something. What does this mean? And how do I get one measly song downloaded?!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
It sounds like you are trying to change your login in the Tunes store through iTunes on your computer, which you can only do once in 90 days, which you don't need to do for this.
What does your iPad usually sync with.

• "Top Songs" category, on an artist's cd, on Itunes? What does it mean?

When I look at a cd, on itunes, there is a "top songs" category, for the cd. I notice that the order of the songs changes, week to week, in the "top songs," categgory, for the artist's cd. What does it mean? For example, does the first song listed mean it is currently the top selling song, for the artist's cd?

Try here first to get iTunes to see the iPod,

• What does that mean the result of (int)character ?

---- code snippet
char ch = '가';
System.out.println( (int)ch );
As you might know, the value of ch is Korean character that takes up to 2 bytes.
And the result of above code is 44032.
What does that mean this number? Is it ASCii code or unicode number?
Of course, if the value is 'a', what I get is 97 which is ASCii code for 'a'.

All Java char values represent UNICODE values (defined at www.unicode.org).
But it's generally more common to represent them in hexidecimal because the code is divided into 255 pages of 255 characters.

• When exporting what does kind mean?

hey guys

see this user tip for details (user tips are accessable under the uper tips tab in each forum)
And yes to export a video you use kind = original
All the other times i did JPEG. is that why my videos turned into JPEGS?
Yes - the reason you got a JPEG is because you told iPhoto to export a JPEG
