What does AXN on a received message mean?

I sent an email from my gmail account to a friend's blackberry (don't know the model but think it an 8800 or something even newer). The message was all text, with no icons or attachments (that I was aware of), with the exception of a web address which appeared on gmail as an active URL hyper-link as you would expect. My friend then replies to my gmail via her blackberry in the form of a text message to my verizon cell phone. I see the letters "AXN" in her message to me and ask her what the acronym means. She says that AXN was already in the message she received from me (via gmail) though there is no such string of letters in the gmail message as viewed from my 'sent mail' folder.
My friend is very concerned about her personal electronic security and is nervous about unexplained codes showing up in her incoming messages. I have promised her an explanation of just why AXN appeared on her blackberry. However, I cannot find an explanation of what the AXN code might mean in this context and would be very grateful if someone could provide me with one.

  • What does this Apple pop up message mean?

    One thing Apple really needs to do is make their pop up messages that appear when doing certain things more user friendly.  Start by making them understandable to someone that didn't invent the dang iPhone, therefore, doesn't know everything about them either!  The one I got this morning has me completely stumped!  I have no clue what it's saying or more importantly what I need to do?

    I'm sorry.  I' having trouble getting this posted correctly this morning. It won't let me edit my original post to finish what I was trying to ask.  I will try again here. I meant to post this:

  • What does "File not readable" error message mean?

    I am trying to copy/paste art from a supposed "corrupt" file into a brand new document.  When I paste, I get this particular error message: File not readable.  What, exactly, does this mean?

    Amanda,
    It is nice to know that it works now. Thank you for letting us know.
    Actually, the solution was identical to this part of the list in post #3:
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup;
    I ruled that out because in post #2 you wrote
    I have tried EVERYTHING ... Dumped the preferences....
    Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift is the standard way of deleting = resetting = dumping the basic preferences so I was convinced you had done that already (hence my suggestion to start with 4 and skip 1) - 3)).
    Actually, when you
    4) Move the folder with Illy closed;
    as suggested in post # 3, you move all the preferences to another place so that they are reset to the defaults when you open Illy next time; this procedure is more thorough (and therefore capable of solving more issues) and reversible so you can get the preferences back if it does not help.
    I presume you did not try 4).

  • What does Missing supported Rate Error Message mean?

    In my WiSM Trap Logs I get a message:
    Client Association Failure: MACAddress:00:15:00:04:a0:34 Base Radio MAC:00:0f:8f:30:8f:70 Slot: 0 Reason:Unspecified ReasonCode: 1
    In the Message Logs, for the same timestamp I get the following:
    [ERROR] apf_utils.c 193: Missing Supported Rate.
    Does this mean the client trying to associate does not support all the WiSM radio mandatory data rates? If so, is there a way of identifying which rate is not being supported?

    Client trying to associate does not support all the WiSM radio mandatory data rates.This can be seen under Wireless>> 802.11b/g network you'll see a set of drop downs that allow you to configure your data rates.

  • What does the corrupted content error message mean when FireFox 7.0.1 tries to open a web page?

    Corrupted Content Error. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Ever since FireFox updated to 7.0.1 this error occurs.
    Signing out of Hotmail generates that message I mentioned: Corrupted Content Error. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Ever since FireFox updated to 7.0.1 this error occurs. How do I stop it? Now it appears to be doing it across multiple websites. The TRY AGAIN button always comes up when initially trying to load a webpage - very frustrating.

    You can get a "Corrupted Content Error" error if there are multiple location redirects send via the HTTP response headers or other entries may be wrong.

  • What does this Disk Utility warning message mean?

    I just ran Disk Utility on Leopard 10.5, which is installed and running on an external firewire drive, as I still like the ability to run classic on my powerbook g4. Permissions were repaired but this message appeared:
    Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
    What should I do now, if anything?

    Nothing. I think every Leopard user in the world gets this message.
    You can safely ignore it.

  • WHAT DOES THIS HOT SYNC ERROR MESSAGE MEAN AND HOW CAN I FIX THE PROBLEM??

    "THE HOT SYNC OPERATION WAS INTERRUPTED.  SOME OF YOUR DATA WAS NOT BACKED UP."
    "(ERROR:  EASNotify.dll failed a confirmation query and cancelled the sync operation).
    HotSync Error:  An application cancelled synchronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification.  Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop of Install Tool.  (8009)"
    I have spent hours upon hours trying to figure out what is wrong and why I cannot complete a hot sync with my computer.  I have done a hard reset and reinstalled the palm desktop software numerous times with no luck.  I bought a book on the palm.  No mention in the book about this particular problem.
    Can anyone out there help me with this problem???  I would be forever grateful!!

    To check which applications are installed on your palm, you can click on the home button on your palm and make sure it says "all" on the top right of your screen. This will show you all the apps installed on your palm. Look through all the applications listed there and see if there is anything extra. You can list them here and I will tell you if there is anything that didnt come with your device when you purchased it.
    You will not need the palm cd to reinstall everything again after you do a hard reset because all the info will be backed up on your computer from your sync. You stated that all the information is on your computer after you sync'd so you dont have to worry about losing it. Once you sync again after performing the hard reset, you will be able to get all the info back again on your palm.

    That's a problem writing to the Time Machine drive.
    As BDAqua says, verify your internal HD and repair the external, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
    If that doesn't help, try the things in the green box of #D2 there.

  • What does "Press F12 for BBS POPUP" mean when I switch my Equium on?

    What does "Press F12 for BBS POPUP" mean when I switch my Equium on?
    Any idea? Thanks!

    Hi
    I presume you are reading the message provided from POST (Power On Self Test)
    There you can see different messages.
    As far as I know pressing F12 at the beginning of the boot process will enable the boot menu. Then you can choose between different boot options and boot devices;
    So dont worry, its nothing unusual.
    I think it should be possible to disable this in the BIOS;
    Check the option for Boot Settings Configuration / Quiet Boot -> Disabled or something like this.
    Cannot remember exactly how the option is called.
    greetings

  • What does 'kernel bug in process suhelperd' mean in very simple terms please

    what does 'kernel bug in process suhelperd' mean in very simple terms please

    Hi,
    Any that ends in a "d" tends to be a dameon process used by the System as a whole.
    As in launchd is the process that make sure all the Extensions and Kexts that run the OS are started.
    helper would refer to a specific thing  (the info you posted offers no reference to that and I don't know off the top of my head)
    The su would probably refer to the permissions this item has at that moment in time (su is normally a Terminal Instruction allowing temporary but high level access).
    Without more info about a possible link to an action within the OS or an app it would be hard to say if it is a real concern.
    It seems to refer to a conflict.  It could be that the item is not written for the current OS, is outdated via Upgrades for instance, or written in a way that is now Protected by the way the current OS works.
    Console Messages can be helpful when you can attribute them to specific events such as a Crash Log or the Action in an App matching a Time in the Log (you generally have to be watching).
