I would also like to know exactly what is saved by the Link Backup & Restore process when only the "Settings" option is chosen.
I have been searching here on BB Support, the knowledge base etc and cannot find where this information is provided.

This is a very bizarre issue as there is no known issues between Outlook 2003 and BlackBerry Link. I would suggest disabling the BlackBerry Virtual Private Network and then test the Microsoft Outlook connection.
Also if you connect the BlackBerry Z10 without BlackBerry Link opened, do you see any problems happening in Outlook?

What does Blackberry ID sync?

I found this in the Blackberry ID help documentation. It is very sparse and does not detail the function of Blackberry ID. Nevertheless, here is an excerpt.
"With BBM 7.0 or later, your BBM contacts, profile, and group memberships are automatically backed up over the wireless network, and are associated with your BlackBerry ID. When you switch devices, your BBM contacts, profile, and group memberships are automatically added to your new device when you sign in using your BlackBerry ID."
Is there documentation somewhere that explains exactly what your Blackberrry ID "backups" and what it does with the personal information on your OS 10 device? We are a business and do not want to have anything being downloaded off of our devices or "backed up" without our knowledge. I was unable to find any documentation on Blackberry ID other than what is minimally explained in the topic's help section located on this website.

On your BlackBerry10 device, nothing but your BBMessenger contacts, group memberships and profile are backed up to servers, that I know of.
No address book contacts, mail, messages, or anything.

This means you are probably not running snow leopard as your profile shows.
What OS are you running?? Mavericks.. is the most likely as it has the most network bugs.

C3 .. but the error might have nothing to do with the real problem.. ie bad networking.
If your MBP has ethernet have you tried turning off wireless and attempting the backup by ethernet??

This message keeps appearing and my time machine is not backing up. What is the reason and how can I fix this?

What does this link warning mean? can't add line info to anonymous symbol

I am working towards getting rid of all link warnings, but I am getting three that I don't quite understand and a google search for this warning hasn't been helpful.
The output to Xcode looks like:
ld: warning: can't add line info to anonymous symbol __ZN16CLineAlignWidgetD0Ev.lsda from /path/to/CLineAlignWidget.o
What causes this warning and what can be done to fix it?
I have looked at the CLineAlignWidget class and it looks like other classes which aren't generating this warning.

What does "iTunes could not backup the iPhone, because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone" mean? Why won't itunes let me backup my phone?

I have an iPhone 6, I backed it up when I got it, but it's been a while since i'v backed it up. The iTunes pop up also says "Delete the backup for this iPhone, then try again." I've tried restarting my phone, deleting some pictures, and deleting other things to get some space. The phone is iOS 8.0.2

Does blackberry link work with Yosemite 10.10.2?

Trying to sync q10 with Mac calendar but no luck. Same with contacts.
Finally got contacts to sync using outlook with windows virtual machine but calendar only synced a few entries.
Any ideas?

Since the release of Yosemite more Mac users have issues like yours Iam sure eventually it will be resolved but when ?
I do not know of any workarounds as no-One has reported any here yet, you might find one and if you do PLEASE let us know.

Mac OS 10.8.6 contacts to Z10 Via USB and BlackBerry Link

Have an iMac with 10.7. Appointments with my Z10 are currently synced via a USB cable with Apple iCal Using a USB cable. Want to upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS 10.8. Mac OS 10.8 no longer has iCal but Calendar instead. Does BlackBerry Link work with Calendar the same way it does with iCal and sync with the Z10. In BlackBerry Link, there is a specific option to work with iCal, not sure if this was to make it work with iCal and that it will work Calendar as well. Maintaining sync with calendars is most important to me right now and the OS upgrade would let me use another application that I trying out... Again maintaining calendar sync is a must.
Confirmation that BlackBerry Link syncs to the Z10 from Calendar via a USB connection would be appreciated. Downgrading an OS not pleasant.

I have a Mac Air and use Calender.
I have my Gmail calender synced(?)/conected to my Calender (click on "Calenders" in the top right of the screen and add it.
I have my Blackberry calender linked to the same gmail account and they sync as well. It seems to work.
I am however unable to sync the contacts on my apple to my blackberry. But I can sync from my blackberry to my computer..............
Any answers?

How does iCloud Photo Library backup photos & save iCloud space

I was reading about how to free up some space on my iCloud account (5GB).
Since the Camera Roll is the only thing that is backed up to iCloud, I would periodically import all my photos to iPhoto and delete them from my device. This would make the Camera Roll pictures move over to my other albums which are NOT backed up to iCloud. Now I ran into some apple documentation which explains what exactly gets backed up on an iOS device and its reads like this:
Photos and videos on your iOS devices, unless you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta on your iOS 8.1 device. If you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta, your photos and videos are already stored in iCloud, so they aren’t included in your iCloud Backup.
So basically if I turn on this iCloud Photo Library on my iOS device, it won't back up any photos to iCloud, because they are already stored in iCloud? What does that mean? Is this going to free up some iCloud space if I turn it on on my device? If so, how exactly does it work that will save me space?

I don't know, sorry. It's supposed to work alongside Photos & iCloud, so that photos are stored only once. When it doesn't work you have a couple of options as I see it –
Delete the old backups on iCloud to hopefully start over (I don't like deleting the only backup of anything).
Forget about iCloud backups & use iTunes to backup instead, it might not be suitable if you have no computer etc.
Buy more storage for iCloud.
I don't use iCloud backup, it bemuses me with issues like this, there is no easy way to resolve when it fails.
And one more question while we are at it...can I erase iphoto from my computer now that I have the new Photos app?
That is up to you. If you are happy you do not need it & have a backup of it go ahead & remove it. You can re-download it from the app store if it is already in your Mac App store account.

BlackBerry Link does not recognize my Q10 And now can't install Link anymore

Hello, i had Link installed since few months working correctly. Suddenly, when connecting my Q10 with USB cable a pop up appears on my phone saying it is connected, however, my terminal shows as deconnected on Link. Usually, when i was connecting with USB, a pop screen appears asking for password but it is not thé case anymore. It does recognize That is connecting since it does open bblink but not when it is openned. There is no Way to get thé password screen to connect my q10. I hâve tried to desinstall And reinstall BlackBerry Link And now i CAn't even load thé software anymore. An error And it does uninstall everything again. Did tried via BlackBerry website And also with thé USB connecting my q10 directly. Thaïs Way is even worst since it does not even load. An error message saying That hâve à problem with RIM Is someone have an idea of what is going on And how i CAN get this fixed? Because now i can not sync or back up my phone. Thanks

But i just got one with just a check mark, with no D above it. and i was wondering what it meant? oh and i have the blackberry tour, but it may be the same on all blackberry phones.

D means delivered.

Blackberry Link - not recognizing device and does not allow synching calendar and contacts

I cannot get Blackberry Link to work properly on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro. It takes a very long time to open and it does not allow me to sign in saying there is no internet connection and I cannot get around resolving this issue. That is problem 1. Problem 2, Blackberry Link sometimes recognizes the device and sometimes it does not. Problem 3, when I do get Link to recognize the device, (it can backup), synching the calender and contacts on the device to Outlook does not work. I try to do a one way synch from the device to outlook and it processes but Outlook is not updated (outlook has no contacts or calendar events as I want to pull them off my device).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Blackberry ID linked device does not show up in Blackberry link

Hello all,
I am using a blackberry 10 (software version 10.1) that is registered to my blackberry ID account. Now i want to exchange files through the wireless network between my blackberry and my computer. My computer is running Blackberry Link 1.1.1.32.
When i open Blackberry Link and sign in to my blackberry ID account i expected that the phone would be added to the list of connected devices. However it gives me a error message that the account has no blackberry devices connected to it.
When i connect the phone on the USB port i can exchange information. However i would prefer to exchange date through WiFi and the cellular network.
This I have already tried:
I verified online that the mobile device is registered with that account.
I reinstalled bb link
I tried to logout/login on blackberry link
I have wiped the mobile device
I have pushed the button refresh devices several times over 2 hours (in blackberry link)
I have waited 4 hours.
My phone does show the laptop in the configuration screen 'blackbery link' connected devices. However i cannot choose the device in the file explorer to open it.
Does anyone have a clue what is happening here? It kinda looks like something is wrong with my blackberry ID.

I have factory reset the mobile.Created a new blackberry ID. Hooked up the new Blackberry ID with Link and the mobile and still Blackberry Link cannot find the Blackberry mobile when i click refresh devices in Link.
Where can I get some interactive support? The blackberry support website refers me to the telecom provider/vendor for support. However they plainly say "we dont know, contact blackberry".
Does anyone know who I contact blackberry and how (e-mail/phone) English support is ofc not an issue. The phone is purchaced from KPN the in Netherlands.

What does it mean "Do you want to save your current game on a new Game Center account?"

My daughter and I have been playing Hay Day. She on the iPad with her own Game Center Account. I on my iPhone, with my Game Center account. Tonight I noticed that I can log her out and log in as me, so I can play on the big screen. As soon as my wife saw this, she wanted to play too. So... she created a Game Center account, logged me out, and logged into Game Center as her. When we go the game, this message appears:
"Do you want to save your current game on a new Game Center account?"
What does this mean?
What should we choose to ensure she starts a new Hay Day game, not start where I was. We did not get this message when we switched back and forth between my daughter an I.

Thanks Larry. I ended up at the genius bar at the local Apple store. My home button had died which is why the phone was constantly going to Voice Control. The phone was replaced. Thanks for answering. I checked out the link and ordinarily that would have done the trick.
