What Does Blue Dot in Sidebar Indicate?

I recently posted an entry to my blog and I noticed two things immediately afterwards:
1) A small blue dot appears next to my "Blog" heading in the sidebar. Usually, the same dot appears next to a specific blog entry in the Topbar, indicating a new comment. I don't know what the sidebar dot represents.
2) A red dot with a "1" appears on the iWeb logo in my dock, very similar to when I have a new email when I open the Mail application.
I've searched to find an answer, but I'm coming up short. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Those dots are each a different way of telling you that someone has posted a new comment on your blog. In iWeb, display your blog's Entries page (thus viewing the new comment) and both dots will disappear.

  • What does the dotted circle mean?

    When connecting itouch to itunes, what does the dotted circle mean next to a song? Thanks for the help.

    Hi pfn,
    From an earlier post on this topic - this may work for you - it's worth a try:
    First go to the 'On This iPad/iPod/iPhone' section and note all the tracks that have dotted circles.
    In the 'Music' section, un-check/de-select all the tunes noted
    Apply and sync the changes.
    Once that completes re-check/re-select the same tunes just un-checked/de-selected in the 'Music' section.
    Apply and sync the changes again
    Go back into the 'On This iPad/iPod/iPhone' section
    Hopefully all the dotted circles will be gone and all the tracks can be played
    See if this helps!
    Cheers,

  • What is blue dot next to apps on my ipad

    What is the blue dot next to the apps on my iPad. I'm a novice, sorry it may seem pointless to the experienced user.thanks

        Hello goldwingryder,
    I'd be happy to explain the spinning star. This icon helps to indicate when there is any network activity on your device. It also may be used by some third-party apps when they are actively being used.
    Thank you,

  • What does 3 dot reply in texting mean?

    When sending a text I sometimes get an automated reply with three dots.  What does that mean?

    The user at the other end is in the process of typing a message to you.

  • Why does blue dot disappear when opening mail

    When I click on the mail icon to go to my "in" box, the "in" box opens properly, but them immediately the blue dots next to new, unread emails disappear and unless I noticed, I can't visually see which emails are unread.  How do I fix this so the blue dots stay until I open the actual message?

    Will obviously have to ensure all video and audio is fully ready for output then add the titles and export to disc without shutting down.
    Have you tried exporting a video yet?
    You might be disappointed to find that the titles don't render either - even if you do export before shutting down.
    So I hate to make the bug even worse without any help whatsoever ;-) but that's the state of this bug as I know it.
    If you can get any titles done at all, you're seriously lucky as far as I'm concerned.
    This has already been discussed in other threads. It is a really rotten series of bugs - I hope they're embarrased enough to get a fix out soon (ie before the 2012 release).
    I mean, who cares about professional features when you can't use titles?

  • What does varying battery led lights indicate ??

    I own a hp probook 4530s.The battery led just above the plug in in the laptopp sometimes lights up in orange colour and sometimes its white in colour ?? is this a hardware fault or does it symbolically explains something??

    On my laptops (Thinkpad 365 up to X61s) the battery- and charging- (plug-symbol) leds always are on as long the power supply is connected.
    Both should turn off after unplug the power supply.
    Is there set a threshold in the power manager?  At which value ends increasing the charge state in the gauge?
    What charge status will be shown in the powermanager on the battery-tab? Please  upload a screenshot of the battery-tab to www.imageshack.us and link it here.

  • [ADF UIX] LOVs, what does the "dot" path expression do?

    Hi
    In developing an ADF UIX web page, I've let JDeveloper create a messageLovInput on the "ExternalSource" field for me as follows:
    <messageLovInput
    model="${bindings.ExternalSource}"
    id="${bindings.ExternalSource.path}"
    destination="refCodesExternalSourceLevelOneLov.uix"
    partialRenderMode="multiple"
    partialTargets="_uixState"/>
    You'll notice that the id is set to blah-de-blah ".path". I can't find mention in the documentation of what the .path does. I think it should be documented in the section "About the Properties of the ADF Bindings" but has been excluded.
    Does anybody have any idea what this binding value provides? And specifically what functionality it provides in the id as a apart of a messageLovInput?
    Thanks!
    CM.

    Or to be more specific, the messageLovInput supplying the following ID with ".path":
    <messageLovInput
    model="${bindings.DepartmentId}"
    id="${bindings.DepartmentId.path}"
    destination="lovWindow0.uix"/>
    ...is used by the LOV lovSelect event "SET" call target property below in returning a value to the calling page?
    <event name="lovSelect">
    <set property="inputValue"
    value="${bindings.DepartmentId.inputValue}"
    target="${data.departmentsUIModel.DepartmentId}"/>
    </event>
    .....and trying something like the following to return more than one field to the calling page would be pointless:
    <event name="lovSelect">
    <compound>
    <set property="inputValue"
    value="${bindings.DepartmentId.inputValue}"
    target="${data.departmentsUIModel.DepartmentId}"/>
    <set property="inputValue"
    value="${bindings.DepartmentName.inputValue}"
    target="${data.departmentsUIModel.DepartmentName}"/>
    </compound>
    </event>
    ..... as the calling messageLovInput can only supply one ID .path?
    Oops, sorry, I hope that isn't too long winded. It's at the end of a very long day for me.....
    Thanks for your help!
    CM :)

  • What does blue text message mean?

    My texts I send are always green...sent one just now & it was blue.  Does that mean anything?

    If the messages (and the Send button) are blue, you're chatting over iMessage with another iOS 5 user.
    If they are green, you are using standard SMS text messaging.
    Your device will automatically detect this and send whichever way is appropriate.

  • What does blue highlighted text mean?

    We are working on a legacy file created in Design CS. We recenly converted to CS4 and the entire file is okay except for the body text. It has blue highlight on it, much like the pink that appears when fonts are missing. We cannot get rid of it. We rebuilt the praragraph style and applied it clearing overides, but it is still there. The only thing I found was possibly overprint? Can anyone help me? The preflight is green with all my normal selections.
    MS

    The funny thing is, ID help says custom kerning/tracking highlighting is green, but it often appears blue, or greenish-blue. Then occasionally you can get both blue and green on the same screen. If anyone can tell me what's going on, I'd be grateful!

  • I have an early 2008 Mac Pro, which has re-booting problems. Also what does the spinning beach-ball indicate?

    Hi, I have an early 2008 Mac Pro which has re-booting problems.
    Processor speed is: 2.8
    Memory: 2GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    2 x 28GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
    I am running OSX Yosemite Version 10.10
    My Mac Pro keeps re-booting. Last year I had to replace my graphics card. My original card was the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 255MB, and that is what I have now. At this precise moment my Mac Pro is running perfectly, except that it is slow and the spinning beach-ball keeps appearing. I have managed to do some work with the disk utilities, verifying, cleaning and partitioning. Some errors were found and when it was cleaned this seemed to help my Mac Pro to function properly. Although I am able to use my Mac Pro now, from day to day I still experience re-boot problems. Also quite unexpectedly my mac dictionary has an error, it closed itself down and will not open at all, I had the message to say that a report will be sent to Apple.
    I have tried starting my computer with an external hard drive fitted via a USB cable, I use for back-ups. This worked and I was able to wipe my hard drive clear and replace all info from the back up I had done only a few days ago.
    This worked for a few days and then the same problem started again.
    I am beginning to wonder if I need to buy a new hard drive.
    If there is anyone who has some answers to help me solve my problem, I would be most grateful.
    Robert

    When you have the beachball activity, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
    These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
    Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
    Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
    Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • What does a red airplay icon indicate?

    Since upgrading to ios 6, when using airplay the icon is always red not blue, when playing from Music on my ipad3. The airplay is still functioning ok just wondering if there's a reason why it's red there and blue everywhere else?

    Hey Chuck,
    I had the same problem, and today I found a solution on an other forum that worked for me.
    First you need to open the library folder for your user. The library is hidden in Lion, but you can open the folder by typing "open ~/Library/" in Terminal. Then go to 'Preferences' and delete the file 'com.apple.finder.plist'. Finally, type "killall Dock" in Terminal to restart Dock. I hope this will work for you as well.

  • What does blue star on contact mean, what does blue star on contact mean

    Suddenly a blue star has appeared next to a mobile number of one of my contacts.  In addition I can no longer send that person a text.

    It means that you marked it as a favorite. It is unrelated to your texting issue, which we could use more details on. Thanks.

  • What does error code 150:30 indicate in Photoshop Elements?

    Recently I downloaded a driver tuner for ATI drivers which have become inactive on my computer or outdated. Don't know if this has anything to do with this recent message in Photoshop Elements.  I tried to manage photos in Elements and got the error message 150:30 and was told to restart my computer.  I've restarted twice and given up.
    Can anyone help?

  • Problem syncing movies to ipd - Blue dots??

    I have 22 movies (films and clips) on my itunes account but when I sync to my ipod (80gb classic) only 10-12 seem to go on it. More so that the ammount, when I look at choosing the videos manually to go on the ipod, a number of them have a blue dot on the left hand side of them, these seem to be the ones that wont sync! Does anyone know what these blue dots signify and how I can get all the video contents of my itunes onto my ipod?

    I think i discovered what it is. I deleted the movies from my c drive to save space, i thought once they were in itunes, that was enough! so when i went to sync, all the ones that were erased from hard drive were still showing up in my library but not available to sync onto ipod!? that make sense?
