I am very new/ignorant to Garagdband, I keep trying but coming up with things like this that confound me
What does could not find layout Default Echo GB mean,
AND, how do I get it back.

I see, you have still both options - "Update Sound Library" and "Restore Sound Library". That means, that you did not install any of the additional sounds that come with GarageBand 10.
In that case using "Update Sound Library" will probably add the missing layout. When I look at my own system library I am seeing the "layouts" installed the part of the library that is also used by Logic Pro X, and that are shared patches in the additional content of GarageBand 10.
If i select Restore does this overwrite what is there, or double the Sound Library and use more HD space?
"Restore" will not double files that are already there, but download missing items, and this way you will need more HD space. But I'd try first "Update", because the initial installation only installs a very basic set of instruments and loops. The additional contents will be several GB.

Why this message "Could not find layout Default Echo GB"
Why am I getting the message "Could not find layout Default Echo GB" i.e. no Reverb effects?
I get the same message and it would be interested if others have the same issuesthat is general bug
The new GB 10.0.3 now lets you edit the Master Tracks Effects (Reverb and Echo), the legacy ones from GB11. However, when you click the Edit button at the bottom of the Plugin area on a Track, the Smart Controls window switches to to the Master Track and selects the (new) Effects tab. And this is where it gets stuck. It seems that it can't find the Plugin Settings. Maybe a file path issue.
Anybody had luck to accessing those settings?

Has anyone encountered a garageband problem since installing Yosemite?
Whichever song file I bring up i keep getting this error message "Could not find layout General Audio 10"
I'm assuming this refers to the visuals for the tones, compressors, reverbs etc as they're not showing for any tracks
Is this likely to be fixed and, maybe, is it because i've just bought and installed Logic X?

Try this: Go to your menu bar, select "Garageband" and then "Restore Sound Library..."
It can take awhile to download as it's a pretty big library. You might need to also select "Update Sound Library..." after the restore is done. -
How do I apply special effects to a track in GarageBand when I keep getting error message that says"Could not find layout Default Reverb GB"?

no evidence of the 10+ GB that the installer told me I was downloading, no
evidence in my download folder that I downloded anything, and most
important, when I click on ³Effects² I¹m back to the same error message.

Downloading the extra content will take a very long time.
When the download has finished, the prompt for the password will appear and the installer will continue to run in the background.
Let t run. As long as GarageBand is still installing, it will give a warning, when you try to quit.
When you can quit GarageBand without a warning, restart your Mac.
The size of the GarageBand application will not change, but you should be seeing more loops. They are installed in the System Library, and the folder "Library" on your Macintosh HD should by now be 10GB larger. -

Hello, I am inquiring about an issue with garageband that I thought would be quite simple to fix, but turned out more difficult.
So two main issues that make it so I cannot use vocals in garageband (Kinda need them...). The first one is an issue that has been resolved, but the second has not, the solution was to Restore and Update a library of some sort, which I attempted. And It gave me an error that it could not install the files. And asking me to reboot Garageband and try again, which I did, I also restarted the computer to no success...
Any Ideas?

What does "Could not complete your request because the parser module cannot parse the file." mean?
All I am trying to do is crop a layered PSD. This error code keeps popping up and the app will not crop. What the hell?
(PS CC 2014 v 15.2.2, 15" MBP retina, running OS X 10.10.1)I did just get around the problem by shrinking the canvas to the right size. That worked.
By the way, since the last Adobe updates, my PS & AI both have been popping "Parser Module" errors up every time I try to either open an EPS file in PS or save an EPS file out of AI. Part of the same issue?

In an MBAM report, what does "Unable to Find Compatible TPM" mean?
All of our machines are fairly new and have recent TPM chips. Does this error mean:
1. The TPM is not enabled in the BIOS.
2. The TPM is enabled in the BIOS, but no one has taken ownership of it?
3. It could mean either of the above cases.
If it just needs to have someone take ownership of it, is there a way to do that remotely via the manage-bde.exe tool?"To enable BitLocker you need to have the following requirements satisfied...

What does "File not readable" error message mean?
I am trying to copy/paste art from a supposed "corrupt" file into a brand new document. When I paste, I get this particular error message: File not readable. What, exactly, does this mean?

Actually, the solution was identical to this part of the list in post #3:
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup;
I ruled that out because in post #2 you wrote

Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift is the standard way of deleting = resetting = dumping the basic preferences so I was convinced you had done that already (hence my suggestion to start with 4 and skip 1) - 3)).
Actually, when you
4) Move the folder with Illy closed;
as suggested in post # 3, you move all the preferences to another place so that they are reset to the defaults when you open Illy next time; this procedure is more thorough (and therefore capable of solving more issues) and reversible so you can get the preferences back if it does not help.
I presume you did not try 4). -
Error in executing mappings "could not find program unit being called"
I am trying to deploy a mapping from the control center in Oracle WareHouse Builder usign Oracle 11g . Here is what i exactly do , first I generate the mapping it goes okay with an insignificant warning .. After that I right click the mapping and click start (for exection to begin).. Eventually I get the error

Ignore above, just read properly, as MccM suggests try to compile package on DB to determine error. If there are no errors, refresh control center or close it and reopen it as it may be trying to call package with old set of parameters.

BRI believe this to be a bug in Console.app and that it started with 10.7.3 or 10.7.4. The message is generated by Console.app (Console: Could not…). On my system it is always these 2 messages and they are triggered by launching Console.app.

Try opening and closing Console.app a few times and you’ll see. I suppose this is just a bug where the app is trying to locate some of its resources which might just be icon images for back/forward that are (maybe) no longer used but still referenced. -
Premier Pro CC will not open, even though all my computer software is updated. It comes up with the message every time I try and open it. Do you want to create a video DVD that will plan on a TV set via a DVD player or just burn the video files to a data DVD disk for storage?

If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Softwareor eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
However, there are video DVD authoring apps that are available at the App Store that will create a video DVD disk. They won't be as extensive as iDVD but can create a simple video DVD.
iDVD 7.1.2 is compatible with iDVD but we don't if it will be with the next system generation.
