What does DE want when it asks for Adobe user name and unlock code? I have tried my acct ID, user name with my password but that does not work.

This is the screen I get when I want to add a book to digital editions.
All I want to know is what they are asking for. I thought it was my user name and password but all kinds of combos or scr name, acct name, login name and password does not open the book

The previous owner has not given you the correct ID and password for you to use.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. plug cable into computer not iOS device
turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
How did the photos get onto the iPad ? An iPad will only show in Windows Explorer if there are photos on it that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites - if the only photos on it were synced to the iPad from a computer then the iPad will not show in Explorer.
That is the computer that the iPad is synced to ?
If they were originally synced to your iPad from a computer then to remove them from your iPad connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes under 'devices' (you can enable the sidebar via control-S on a PC)
And then use the Photos tab on the right-hand side of the screen to remove them
To remove all synced photos select an empty folder on that tab and sync that.

And you are 100% sure its locked to them? How can you know this? While GCI does not offer unlocking that does not mean the phone is actually locked to it. Get off your high horse.
Its possible the original owner had an unlocked phone. he was using with GCI. Or that GCI doesn't actually have locked phones. Seeing as they don't even have their own infrastructure but instead use AT&T's I doubt they'd have iPhones specifically locked to them and that would be the reason they do not offer unlocking (because there's nothing for them to unlock). And just to clarify, I'm not saying for a fact its not locked to them. It very well maybe be, but without knowing more about the phone and going by the fact GCI uses AT&T infrastrucure its possible its not locked. But here's no way to say for sure either way.
Trying a Sim card from AT&T or another carrier might just help the OP if its actually unlocked or locked to AT&T rather than GCI.
