What does it take to work with Sun on Java?

How did they create Java and keep coming out with new versions? Heh, they can't write Java to create it, you know? Or can they? Lets discuss.

Java Community Process - controls the destiny of the Java platform and is supported and used by all of the major Java vendors and a few independent Java experts.

  • What does it take to work for apple

I've always been very passionate and glued to the tv every WWDC given by apple. I believe apple is the most accomplishable consumer-electronics company in the world. Lol not Microsoft! I just want to know what it really takes to work for such a great company!

    Skills they will need.
Technological skills such as electronics design.  HR management skills for its HR department.  Financial skills for its accounting department.

  • What does icloud have to do with ID DAV has stopped working?

what does icloud have to do with always getting this message at start up APPLE IE DAV has stopped working?

    Hi,
Have you thought about filter on both session id and query counter? or it's also possible for you to go to transaction st03n BW profile to get the times for query execution in a specified time range.
    Best regards,
    Matt.

  • Please could you tell me what DLT/SDLT/Ultrium series drive works with Sun Fire V880 with SCSI Sun X

Please could you tell me what DLT/SDLT/Ultrium series drive works with Sun Fire V880 with SCSI Sun X6540A?
The question is URGENT because we need to do backup/restore of our Databases but we have not backup device...
We want to buy it but we don't know what exactly drives we can choose for our Sun with X6540A SCSI card.

    Hello,
the X6540A is a Dual Single-Ended Ultra/Wide SCSI (PCI) controller. The controller is only upto 40MB/sec, which might be suficient for a SDLT600 or LTO-2.
Every Single-Ended SCSI device works with this card, <b>but</b> performance would be low when using LVD/SE devices (some LVD devices can't operate in SE mode!)
I would suggest that you call Sun Sales.
I guess that the <b>PCI/PCI-X Dual Ultra320 SCSI Adapter</b> (SG-XPCI2SCSI-LM320) or <b>PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter (LVD)</b> (X6758A) are a better choice if attaching more recent drives.
This is the <b> Sun Fire V880 - Full Components List</b>.

  • If I back up iMovie projects to an external drive does it take the media with it? I want to free up space and remove pictures that were in iPhoto...that were used as media by iMovie when project was under way. In short I want archive iMovie stuff

If I back up iMovie projects to an external drive does imovie  take the media with it? I want to free up space and remove pictures that were in iPhoto...that were used as media by iMovie when project was under way. In short I want archive iMovie stuff. If I pull pics out of iPhoto, and later want to drag an archived projet bac into iMovie and the pics are no longer in iPhoto, will I be able to keep working in the project in iMovie?

Very likely not, as the iPhoto's can be used for something else.
More like it took a copy, or it's referencing that spot on the drive in the editable files and most likely made a copy to create a new permanent export file.
Sample one picture and a iMovie file and see what happens.

  • What does it take

    Hey guys
I have iCaht AV 2.1 and a Powerbook g4 etc etc and I am trying to set up a chat with my Dad in Australia on an IBM thinkpad running Windows XP and AIM Trillion or whatever it is.
What does it take to ACTUALLY have a 2-way Video chat coz NOTHING we are doing is working.... I have read REAMS of stuff on this forum - Ralph has established my computer can actually recieve and send both video and audio... but it just will NOT work. What is the BEST modem and broadband provider here in the UK and in Australia???
What does it take to actually make it work???
If nothing works - I want my money back from buying a completely USELESS iSight to do this..... It would be easier to book satellite time and use a flyaway kit complete with crews either end than to try to use this to have 2-ways......
    AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
    G4 PowerBook 1.25gHz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Among the reams, have you looked at Mac Video Chat with PCs?
Both of you should test with others. You can find some robot ("Autoresponder") and human Buddy Names for iChat Test here if you need them. Testing will help you find whose system needs the most attention.
Since you have now apparently connected with Ralph, it seems your computer can connect. Has your Dad tried others? Perhaps the problem is at Dad's end. If so, the list of things for the PC to check in my link above should be helpful.
Check your Broadband Speed. Some Australian broadband can be on the slow side. Therefore, if your Dad already subscribes to the maximum bandwidth that is available from his Australian ISP, he should be particularly careful that his AIM "Video Quality" is not set too high (as explained in the "Mac Video Chat with PCs" link.)

  • With all the games coming out for iMacs what Gaming Pad or Jotstick works with the Imac

With all the games coming out for iMacs what Gaming Pad or Jotstick works with the Imac

Now the bad news. In my "Print to Video" pop up, if
I select "Color Bars" , "Black", or any other option
and take out my bars and tone and slug from the
timeline, the print to video does not print anything
to tape except for a nice nothing blue. I don't
even get my actual timeline video printed to tape.
    Jerry,
You are a genius! Man do I feel silly. So just for the benefit of others who might read this post, I did exactly as you said, and of course when I restarted FCP, I had to identify my Firewire NTSC setting for the drive. This time, instead of leaving my tapedrive offline, I left it on and immediately saw on my drive monitor the video coming off of my timeline.
Every thing works perfect. I now have a clean timeline with just the content I'm working on and don't have to worry about bars, slugs, post black. Just a few checkboxes and I'm ready to send my tapes off. Really nice feature.
    Thanks!

  • What does JDBC has to do with Jdeveloper ?

I have to demonstrate the use of JDBC for my presentation in the next few days and I have to use Jdeveloper for the presentation. Unfortunately, I'm still confuse about what is the relationship between JDBC and Jdeveloper? What part of Jdeveloper that I should use for the demonstration.
Right now, I basically understand pretty much how JDBC and Jdeveloper work seperately but I still don't know how can I integrate those two together.
Please give me some ideas because I really need serious help here!!!!
    Thanks

JDeveloper is a graphical Java application. JDBC is an API that documents a standard framework for dealing with tabular and relational data. So "what does JDBC has to do with Jdeveloper ?" - Nothing.

  • I replaced my iPhone with a Galaxy 5 and am not receiving all of my text messages. The sales person told me to remove my phone number from iTunes to stop this from happening. Is that true? What does iTunes have to do with text messages?

I replaced my iPhone with a Samsung Galaxy5 and I am not receiving all of my text messages now. The rep at the store told me to go to iTunes and take my phone # off of the account and that would fix the problem. Is that true? What does iTunes have to do with text messages anyway?

You need to remove your phone number from the iMessage system.

  • What does it take to build smart card applications?

Just out of interest I was wondering what does it take to build smart card applications:
    - Can I do it at home with my PC or do I have to have access to expensive hardware?
    - How difficult is it to master given that I do it on my own with no help. Does it involve a lot of hardware issues?
    - If hardware is required (a smart card and a cable connection), where do I get it and how much does it cost?

    Let me rephrase my question.
I understand that the deployment process may not be so easy. That does not disturb me.
I just want to know whether I'll experience hardware probelms. If reading/writing to the card involves putting it inside and taking it outside from the device just like a floppy disk without any complications, then I don't have any worries.
By the way, does the reader device is used for both reading AND writing?

  • What does it take to get my service cancelled?

I am trying to find out what it will take to get my account cancelled... I called more than a week in advance of my move to set up the cancellation of my FIOS home service and was assured that was all I needed to do; I would receive my final bill in the mail. However, a week after I moved, my account was charged and my autopay paid my bill of nearly $200 for services this month in a home I no longer live in, for an account that should no longer be active. I called and spoke with no fewer than 12 agents over that week, including someone who after 43 minutes of being passed around HUNG UP on me! Finally I spoke with someone who was helpful and said my account was deactivated, and in about 14 business days I should get a refund check in the mail. Well, three weeks later, my account has still not been cancelled and I have not gotten my refund! I just called again and spoke with an agent who told me he couldn't help me and I needed to call back another office on Monday. It has been nearly a month since I moved and this account was supposed to be cancelled and I still cannot get anyone to just stop the account! What does it take at Verizon to end my service???

  • What does it Take... What is the Wizer Move?

What does it take? What is the Wiser Move?
Currently we are running Oracle EBS 11.5.10 with an RDBMS 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 32 bit. We would like to get to a 64 bit OS and we are looking at 64 bit Linux or Windows. I am interested in two main areas.
    1.     Where is the path of lease resistance/easiest moving from Windows 32 bit to Windows 64 bit or Linux 64 bit? At first glance you would think Windows 32 bit to Windows 64 bit.
    2.     What it the “Best” path. In the long run I would think we would be better off going Windows 32 bit to Linux 64 bit, but what would that take.
    Any thoughts are welcome.

    Hi Chris,
    1.     Where is the path of lease resistance/easiest moving from Windows 32 bit to Windows 64 bit or Linux 64 bit? At first glance you would think Windows 32 bit to Windows 64 bit.You cannot run Oracle Apps 11i on Windows 64-bit OS as the application tier is not certified to run on this OS. For the database, it is possible by following the steps in (Note: 369693.1 - Using Oracle Applications with a Split Configuration Database Tier on Oracle 10g Release 2). Also, please see (Note: 343917.1 - Frequently Asked Questions: Oracle E-Business Suite Support on x86-64).
    2.     What it the “Best” path. In the long run I would think we would be better off going Windows 32 bit to Linux 64 bit, but what would that take. You will have to use export/import to move the database -- See (Note: 362205.1 - 10g Release 2 Export/Import Process for Oracle Applications Release 11i) for details, and (Note: 238276.1 - Migrating to Linux with Oracle Applications Release 11) for the application tier node.
