Heard windows has a tool called Snippy, looked at Snagit, but read free download agreement and it reads a bit 'fishy', as the download is only free for 30 days, etc and it talks about fees etc.

Mac does have two utilities: Snagit for Mac and LittleSnapper. There are a few others. Snag it for mac is just a better "clippings" thing. It will not scan your image. There are OCR products available for Mac which might be able to take your clipping document and scan it back to text.

What does Apple have that compares to Adobe Flash Player, I keep getting Blocked plugged message and it tells me to download Adobe Flash Player and when I do nothing happens. Also when I purchased my iMac it came with Leopard osx system, last year I installed the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 system and since then cannot read CD's or DVD's from PC or my husbands new iMac with Mountain Lion system.

There is no equivalent to Adobe's Flash Player. You either have it installed or not. For the reasons outlined below, Apple no longer sell Macs with Flash Player pre-installed, you have to obtain it from Adobe.

I am developing an application that will use the FP controller's serail number as part of a license algorithm.
What does the "41" that is prepended signify?
When will this value be changing?
Any suggestions on how to plan for this value changing in the future without my knowledge and thereby shooting my code in the foot?
I realize I can just ignore these two characters but that will only work if this field will never be more than two characters.

Currently, the upper byte of the 4 byte serial number is "41" for FP-1600 and FP-20xx controllers and "42" for FP-1601 controllers. This value may change in the future. I can not provide any information on when/how it may change. However, it is extremely unlikely that the serial number will change to be more than the 4 bytes (8 hex characters).

You can either back up to iTunes or to iCloud, you you choose to back up to iCloud, back up to iTunes will be turned off. Personally, I'd always back up to iTunes unless there is a good reason not to you.

Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.

You may be able to re download past purchases, read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you delete purchases, they are no longer stored in iCloud.

Most applications can be removed by dragging their icon to the trash (and deleting it). Some apps also put data into a folder in /Library/Application Support/ or username/Library/Application Support/ named after the application or the company that developed it.
If the application was installed from a .pkg file there's a utility called "Desinstaller" (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13955) that will remove all files that came with the application. Be warned though, that deleting the wrong package, could mess up your system.
Some apps also come with their own uninstaller.
Another thing you could/should do, is remove cache files and stuff. Use a utility like OnyX (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20070) for this.
Finally, removing the "Universal" part of your applications can free space as well. The utility TrimTheFat (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28882) will remove those parts of your apps that are not needed on your computer.
