What does Preview do here?

I'm working on a project and the behavior of Preview puzzels me. I use a 4x4 png-picture as a background to a matrix I plot. But for some reason Preview decides to smooth it all out. Can somebody help me with that? The second printscreen was taken from the Adobe Reader. Thank you for your time!

Because text and line art are essentially the same thing (vector data), and therefore subject to the same display problems. However, I'm not sure why a raster PNG is being smoothed, or why the same control should alter it.
However, if you want separate settings for smoothing text and smoothing images, then try Adobe's Reader.

As long as you both have a data connection (either cellular or WiFi) the iMessage will be sent over the data connection and only use a tiny portion of your data allowance.

I am trying to create my own pop-up menu in Layout, Story and Galley views when user right clicks on a specific portion of the text inside the story.
To achieve this, I’ve added an event watcher to intercept right mouse click. First I test to see if user right-clicked on a document using IEvent::QueryTargetWindowInterface(IID_IDOCUMENTPRESENTATION).
Next, I need a method, to return the story's UIDRef or TextModel and TextIndex closest to the click location.
I am looking high and low for this method to no avail. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

I agree, also another thing to consider the apps on other platforms uses the same access rights but the only diffrence is the Android shows you what is needed to be access... I learned that people feel more comfirtable when they dont know what is being accessed but in reality because you dont know its being accessed does not change the fact that its being accessed..
Like Scur reported the applications have to access areas of software to give you options that users want in the apps..
Now I am not saying not to keep a eye on whar is requested because apps can request for access to areas that isnt required.. A wallpaper app doesnt need access to contacts information but it would need web and permission to write to sd card. This is what is required under the programming end of a app.

What is Preview?

What does preview do? I got this little icon on my dock called "preview." It has some pictures and what looks like a camera sitting on top of them. I click it and nothing happens, nothing I can tell anyways. What is this for?

Personally I use it in preference to Adobe Acrobat Viewer most of the time for PDFs - image or text based, and have it set as the preferred reader for all of them. Cleaner interface, less resource hungry, etc etc. Sure, every now and then you need the Adobe product, but not 99% of the time.
Preview does a great job of talking screen shots, too. In my case it is Acrobat Viewer that doesn't get a spot in the dock!

OK, I'll try: it means that there's a missing directory record; that is, there's an item in the directory pointing to a record that doesn't exist. What else can I tell you? All such errors need repairing.

The <<Label>> is used with GOTO. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/goto_statement.htm#LNPLS01323, in particular the examples links at the bottom of the page.
GOTO should be avoided as far as possible as it is not "structured programming".

Nobody can tell you anything without knowing exact site and server specs, but I would suspect that naming the folder "html" wasn't the brightest of ideas, since that's usually a default (invisible) folder name existing somewhere on the server and the user not having privileges to overwrite it.

If they are running 10.6.1, they have not updated their computer in almost two years and regardless of iTunes, they really should update.
The posted system requirements have been flaky in the past. A few versions of iTunes required 10.4.11 or 10.5.6 or later. Don't kow if it would not work with 10.5.0 through 10.5.5 but the way it was worded, implied it would not but IIRC, it did actually work

So, I need some help with this one. I'm stumped. I noticed some of my file preview icons turn black. What does this mean? Is the file corrupt? When I try to open the file nothing appears other than a big black image. What's going on? I'm thinking I should reinstall Mac OS X because something might be screwed up. Need advice!

Mountain Lion Recovery
Boot up from your computer by holding down the command+r keys. This will take you to the recovery drive.

Having issues with text etc. shifting in preview. Any ideas as to what is going on here?

When I place type or other items on a page, they shift in Muse preview and when previewing in a browser. Size and placement of the text are incorrect. Why are these items not lining up as they did in the Design panel in Muse? I even tried creating a blank page with only some text center to make sure it wasn't something else in my page. One would think this would be a basic feature of Muse. Having items show up where you actually placed them. What am I missing here? My layout looks fine until I preview. I'm new to Muse, so maybe I'm missing something in my setup. Thanks in advance!
Looks fine here. This particular page has a full screen video background via a widget. But even on a blank page I have the same issue.
Then in Previewing it all shifts and the text seems scaled down.

This is for imessage and not text message, this can occur when people are sharing the same apple id.
On each devices go to settings - message - send&receive - either uncheck or remove the apple id.

The API will help you here. It's likely the parent component. It's quite common to pass parent components to dialog constructors to allow the dialog to be related to the parent component (for e.g. have a modal relationship).
