What does required files missing need to reinstall itunes mean?

I tried to open iTunes and it said that ome files are missing and I need to re-install my iTunes. Does anyone know why it says this? and what to do to fix the problem? Besides, of course, re-intsalling iTunes.

It means you have some corrupted files in your (Program files),
easiest way to fix this is downloading iTunes again, and re-install it.

  • What does a file name like NYC14_(1008_of_88).cr2 mean?

NYC14 is my renaming convention.  Naturally, it's followed by (1009 of 88) etc.

No. you can select the photos you want to rename and then use the Library/Rename menu option to rename your photos. This will open a rename dialog box that will allow you to select the naming scheme you want but take care in your choice. Suggest you start with one or two to make sure you are getting what you want before doing the bulk renaming. It is easy to create a mess and/or duplicate file names if you are not careful.

  • What does "Your Apple ID Needs a Verified Email" mean?

For the first time *ever* when I tried to accept a Find My Friends invitation, I got a dialog box that said: "Your Apple ID Needs a Verified Email Address. To continue using Find My Friends add and verify and email address http://appleid.apple.com"
Well, I have 4 verified emails! This dialog just won't go away.

Oops, other treads indicate this is a bug of some kind related to my @mac account. I thought Apple products were easy to use.

I had the same problem.  I managed to fix it by selecting the "Me" tab, then the "Account" button in the toolbar and then in the "Notifications" group I selected an email address for the "Send As" item.  Not sure how this got reset, but I was able to accept and request an invitation afterwards.

  • How come when i open my itunes it says "itunes cannot open because some of it's required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes." What do i do?

last night i wanted to update my ipad to 4.3 and when i tried to; it told me i had to download the new itunes too. so i tried downloading the new updated version on itunes, and this morning when i tried to open my itunes it said "itumes cannot open because some of it's required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes." what do i do?

With that one, I think we should try getting the malware possibilities off the table first.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)

Does the scan find any infections? If so, please paste the contents of the log file for the scan in a reply here so we can have a look.

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.'  Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times.  Now what?

I figured it out.  A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help.  So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean.  And it worked.  I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked!  And I lost nothing from my account.
Maybe this info will help others.

  • Recently updated itunes to (10.22.14) when attempting to open itunes, it fails to open and I get this message: itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes.

Just updated itunes to (10.22.14) and itunes won't open. I get message: Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes. Is there any other way to troubleshoot this other than reinstalling itunes?

With that one in that context, I think we should check for malware.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    HI daddio,
Ok some things first I need to know...Did you use Microsoft cleanup utility to clean up all those uninstalls you have done?
I hate Norton and anyone who reads my posts will know that. I have seen way too many infected PC's by Norton users. Did you try the EWIDO and AdAware scan? I see you said you read lots of posts. That is helping folks remove the malware in order to get iTunes and quicktime back to health.

iTunes will not open because a dialog box pops up with "Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing.  Please reinstall iTunes.". I have done so a few times to no avail.  Any solutions for this problem?

No you will not lose your content reinstalling iTunes.
    Do this:
1: Download and run the Registry Cleaner of the free Ccleaner.

    Fakt:
iTunes 10.6.1.7 Fehlermeldung: "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."

I'm getting a message that says itunes cannot run b/c some required files are missing.  Please reinstall itunes.  I'm scared to because I don't want to lose my music.

Reinstalling iTunes simply replaces the application.  It shouldn't affect your media.  You do have backups, right?

  • ITunes (11.3 64bit) cannot run because some its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.

just set up my new laptop lenovo x240.
    Windows 7 SP1.
    itunes 64bit 11.3
first install went fine. then I tried to move my preexisting library. the library did not show the apps. so I tried around. Treid to re-install itunes.
Since I did, after the re-install, iTunes gives me the error message "iTunes cannot run because some its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
I tried the  -_> link: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
unfortunately it did not resolve. please, advise... I am quite desperate... and surprised this is happening, since I am on a clean corporate laptop.
perhaps, can someone also steer me to a corner, where I can deactivate the cloud install pop-up ones starting iTunes?
