What does reseting iphone change

what does reseting iphone change?

There are many kinds of resets:
Holding HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears essentially reboots iOS. It kills processes that are running, although many will restart automatically. In rare instances it can also corrupt data in applications, so it is better to turn the phone off before doing it.
Settngs/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings sets the network parameters back to defaults and clears WiFi passwords. Nothing else is changed.
Settngs/General/Reset - Reset All Settings restores iOS settings to their defaults. It doesn't affect application data or settings.
Settngs/General/Reset - Erase all content and Settings clears the phone completely, to the state it was in when you took it out of the box
Settngs/General/Reset - Reset Home Screen Layout does what it says
Did you mean something other than these?

    Just as it suggests, everything.
It will be factory defaults just like the day you first turned it on

If you mean using Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings this causes all settings to be returned to iOS defaults. It will also clear stored WiFi hotspots.

  • What does Firefox Update change?

So I am trying to figure out a way to update Firefox without going around to each and every machine.
I have partially achieved this by copying over
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox from a machine with the current version to a machine with the old version and it seemed to work pretty well. Except. My inventory software is reading it still as the old version.
So where else does the update effect? I though it might be in the registry files someplace but I don't see it....

Add-ons are developed by third-party developers, and as such there is no guarantee they won't break. We aren't responsible for them or for making sure the millions of add-ons in existence all work properly in every version of Firefox (If we were, we might as well give up on Firefox).
That being said, we do try to restrict breaking changes to the code that Add-ons use. Sometimes it is inevitable, but we make sure to give add-on authors plenty of warning (usually 12-18+ weeks) before a change that might break their extension. We also automatically check every extension installed on our site for things that might not work in new versions, and every extension that passes (the vast majority) are default to be compatible with the new version without the add-on author having to do anything.
Unless you have a third-party binary extension. These are commonly Anti-virus toolbars, etc. These extensions stop working with updates frequently. This is because these companies don't bother to read our notes of what's changing or to release updates for their software until after release.

  • What does the iPhone do before it's enabled with AT&T?

When you take the iPhone out of the box but haven't yet set it up via iTunes, what actually does it do? Does it just sit there with the Apple logo on it? Display a spinning wheel forever? Or does it connect to the network but not allow you to make calls?
The reason I ask is I live about a block from a *six block square* area where AT&T's coverage maps show there to be *no signal*.
As I know such maps are generated by computer based on +ideal conditions+, there's a very good chance I'd be at one bar, if not zero, at my home.
I'm curious if I'd have to go through the whole process of setting up an account with AT&T just to find out if I'd have any bars or not, or if just taking the phone out of the box and turning it on would be enough to check.

    William,
I think the easiest thing is just to ask someone else on AT&T if they have any reception problems in your area. The iPhone does seem to have a less sensitive antenna than other phones, so the signal strength may appear weaker. But having said that, it's impossible to compare the signal bar displays on different phones, as they all use their own particular algorithms to do this, as there is no standard. But generally, if other people are getting 5 bars, the you should be okay.

  • Fsb overclocking...what does it actually change? (K7N2 delta-L)

    Hi all,
I got my new mobo K7N2 delta-L, and I've heard some talk that it should be safe to OC fsb with this mobo as it wouldn't change any other speeds than only the speed of cpu.
So I'd like to hear how it really is, if I change the fsb does it have any impact on pci or most importantly ide devices? In bios I can set the speed of AGP and memory manually so I guess the fsb doesn't affect to them. But does it then if I don't set memory manually and set it to AUTO or SPD? Most importantly I'm asking what about the IDE, now as I understand pci speed is the same as IDE speed, and there is option in bios "AUTO detect pci clock", if I set that to enabled, does that mean that my hard drive and cd-rom speed always stays the same (33mhz) nomatter what I change my fsb? Please someone give me detailed information on how changing the fsb on K7N2 delta-L works and everything that it affects, or does it really only affect on cpu speed as I've heard. Thank you very much already!

Just from my experience upping the fsb also ups your PCI
cards, AGP video,CPU and last but not least memory.
I think the most gain is in memory benches. The CPU doesn't jump much but the memory is very noticable.
Upping too far can and will lead to a non posting computer,
the tough part after hours of experimenting is to try and play your games without addition problems.
I was O/C'd very well but had to quiet it all down to play Grand theft auto Vice city.
Had trouble with the O/C on that one alone, all else was fine with 446fsb 223x10.5 but had to wave it all good bye for the sake of the game.I like the game so near stock is what I'm running now.
I did however just upped my video card to a Radeon Pro 9800 and wait for it and hope I can reclaim some O/C but heck with that card I may not need it.

  • What does the iphone have that the ipod touch doesn't?

i was just wondering what the iphone has that the ipod touch doesn't if there is anything. (Apart from the obvious phone and maybe the camera)

The ipod touch has most of the same functions as the iphone with the exception of the phone, the camera, and the gps (and any features that require those functions). My wife uses one as an ipod, a very nice device, especially if you are normally in range of a wifi network.

  • What does the Verizon change mean to me?

I'm hoping someone can help me with this since I haven't heard from Verizon support. I have a 32GB RAZR and I'm on my mother's mobile plan (which she gets through her employer at a discount). Her plan is a 700 minutes/month shared plan with her phone and my dad's phone. My mother and I have texting/mobile messaging, and a 4GB data plan on our phones. I pay $40/month to my parents for the phone and whatnot. I'm not sure exactly how much is paid for my mom's phone. Will this change since this plan is through my mother's employer? Help would be awesome. Thank you! ^_^

Nothing will change until the next time one of you ungrades your phone.
Even then things may still be the same.  They're already on tiered plans so they won't see any difference unless Verizon decides to disallow the line based tiered data packages and require Share Everything as the only option.
PJNC284 is correct, things with your mom's account could stay the same, the new "Share Everything" plan is strictly an option that you could change to if you want. You will not have to, and you could even do other upgrades on your phones and still keep what you have.
My only question would be about the 4GB per phone. I would assume you got them during the "Double Your Data" promotion?  If you were to do another upgrade on1 of those phones that has 4GB, would it revert to 2GB?

  • What does reseting the cache do exactly?

i cant get album artwork onto my ipod since updating to IOS 6 I was wondering if reseting cache would help but I dont know exactly what that does

If Finder is performing sluggishly, displaying incorrect file icons, etc., quitting and relaunching it will sometimes correct things. Deleting Finder preferences may also help.
Option click on the Finder icon in the Dock and choose relaunch. Or use the Force Quit dialog (Command-option-esc) to quit. Then click on Finder in dock to relaunch. Or use Onyx to add the quit option in the Finder menu. You can also use Activity Monitor to quit Finder.

  • What does an iphone programmer need from me?

I need some help. I just hired an iphone programmer to develop a program for me. But I don't want him to access my developer account since I registered as an individual and it has sensitive info. But I know I might need to get him some certificates(?) for him to develop the application for me. I've read and re-read the developers portal site but still can't figure out what he'll need.
What will my programmer need from me for him to program, test and build an iphone app for me?

for one, he/she probably doesnt really need anything from you. If they have a Mac, the iPhone SDK Final then thats all thats really needed. You may want to set up a SCM repository on the project so he/she can checkin checkout the progress - ultimately you are publishing it though.

  • What encryption does the iphone 3gs/3g support?

There no mention of what WLAN encryption is supported.
Ie: WPA, WPA2, 64 bit WEP, or 128 bit WEP.
    What does the iphone support?

It definitely supports WPA2, because that's what I use on my home wi-fi network, and I'm not interested in anything less secure.
