What does "system/library/care services" file control in the system
My Imac keeps locking up on me. I ran disc repair and it repaired every thing but the "system/library/ core services file" and said it has been modified and it will not repair it. could this be my lock up problem? and if so how do I fix it. Help
Core Services is exactly that: the inner, most essential parts of the OS.
Did you Repair the DISK, or just repair Permissions? The latter is not very effective at fixing problems.
Make sure you haven't installed anything that might be causing the lock-up, and uninstall it. Check the log messages in Console.app in the Utilities folder. Look for any messages at the time of the lock that might be relevant.

Last couple of days I have had an issue with Safari saying the following : The error is: “cannot decode raw data” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1015). I have reset safari and in seems to go away but it comes back. On a whim I ran my disk permissions via disk utility and noticed a whole list of stuff it fixed with the last line being: Warning: SUID file “System/Library/Core Services/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent” then cant be repaired. I tried redownloading safari 5.0.5 to reinstall but the installer ran and said it needed 10.6.7 to install. Since im running 10.6.8 i was like ok there must be bugs popping up in 10.6.8 update finally. any help and fixes would be great . THANKS

Normaly i deleted all and reinstall but that's not fun!!
but luckly i found the solution.. hope it works for you too!
Go to control panel --> Programs (uninstalls a programs) --> Apple Mobile Device Support (Right click) --> Click Repair
I don't had to reboot my computer but if it's necessary, you can..

Newer versions of Photoshop ships with Adobe Bridge for Organizing image files. However your not required to use it. You can also use LightRoom or system utilities like Windows File explorer and Mac Finder. Photoshop itself uses System dialogs to access your file systems files. When Photoshop display an Open or Save dialog to you in all probability its a Windows or Mac System dialog. I understand that when using Numbers/Pages - an up-arrow on a document means that the file is still to be uploaded to the cloud, what does a down arrow mean? It seems the document can't be accessed until the arrow clears.
I believe what it's supposed to mean is that some changes were made to the document on another device, and those changes were saved back to the cloud. Now you've opened iWork on a different device to access that document - it compares the document you've got locally with the one in the could, sees some recent changes and downloads them.
What gets me is why this sometimes happens even when I've not made any changes to a document from another device. -

I took the system file out of the system folder on os 9.2 can't boot to put file back in machine also has osx 10.2 but won't let me boot to either need os 9 compatible boot disk I think?
If the OS X 10.2 on the hard drive is/was bootable, try this -
Restart or boot, then immediately press the X key, keep it held down until you know the machine has started to boot using OS X. This is a hardware instruction to the Mac to boot using the first usable instance of OS X it finds.
Once booted to OS X, you should be able to move OS 9's System file into OS 9's System Folder.
Note - in general, unless you know for sure what you are doing and that the results are desired, do not relocate or rename files in OS 9's System Folder or in OS X's System or Library folders. -
I installed bootcamp but became a pain to use so I unistalled it. Now every time I turn my Macbook pro on it keeps asking me what startup disk to use. I tried using the system preferences to correct this but it hasn't worked. I even restored my mac back to factory settings but it still asks me what startup disk to use.
