Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP G61-336NR Notebook and BIOS concerns. The BIOS is responsible for loading the operating system. Without it your computer will not work as it checks the hardware and then loads the operating system. Here is a link From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia explaining the BIOS.

What does the display look like with 'My Movies'?

I'm thinking about buying an Apple TV, not to rent movies but to stream all of my own videos to a seperate tv. I'm already doing this with my Xbox 360 with H.264 video but before people watch it they have no idea what the video is about because apart from the brief information i can give in the title, their isn't any picture, comments etc. So i was wondering if the Apple TV has any of these features for the 'My Movies' section:
-Cover Flow/Browse by Cover
-Playlists (eg. Recently Added, My Top Rated)
-Title
-Year
-Rating
-Genre
-Comments
-Actors
-Anything else
Also i was wondering if you can use the search feature for 'My Movies' rather than just rented movies?

Currently you can't use search for My Movies or My whatever, it only works in the Store. Might change, might not. Apple's business model seems to be pushing towards rentals/purchases whereas originally it was a media extender for your own or Apple purchased content before all rentals became available earlier this year in the US and last week in the UK.
They have added genres for My Movies so if you tag a movie as horror, sci-fi, drama, family holidays, westerns etc it should show as a genre.
On Mac there's a great tagger called MetaX (might be worth a look as there's a video there showing some of teh tags that can be applied) - I would not be surprised if there's something similar on the PC.

One last thing, although you've encoded your video as h264 and it plays on Xbox it will not necessarily play on AppleTV unless if fits the specs for playback found here:

Not trying to put you off, but that could be an issue for you.
In the same way some things I've encoded for AppleTV don't work on my PS3.

What does a cabinet look like?

Hey everyone this may seem like a silly question but I need to get it off my chest.
By What I understand there are 3 cabinets in my estate, 2 of which are now bt infinity enabled and the one I am on which is not. About a month ago one was done and I noticed a big BT INFINITY sign on the front, a few weeks ago another was done and the same was on that. Thinking I was next my cabinet was only painted black for some reason and looks completely different to the newer cabinets. After the 2 cabinets were done I received a letter stating I can now get bt infinity and yet the checker says no.... I'm not ever sure What a old and new cabinet looks like so any info or even better, a picture would be helpful

What does the TV looking sysbol stand for?

I had the memory/HD/wireless cover off today to do a bit of cleaning. I see there is a space for a 2nd HD. I also noticed a space that looks like a PCIe card slot that has a picture of a TV under it? What can be put there? A TV tuner card?

If we are talking about Empty PCIe Slot, you can put any PCIe Device in there...it can be TV tuner, GPS, Mobile Broadband, etc... but the contrain you end up having is getting the cable routing to that card...

IPod nano: How does the display looks like during first connection with a computer?

Hallo everybody,
Today I got my brand new iPod nano. I connected it to my computer approx. 30 minutes ago.
The window in iTunes opened and I could chouse all the details. So far, so good.
But what about the display? I can only see a black and white display with the word "iPod" in the middle of the first line and a symbol of a battery on the right.
In the middle you can see a picture of part of the cable connection and beyond the Message "Connected. Eject before disconnecting".
So, when will I see the home screen or the buttons? Does anyone know? Have I done somthing wrong? Or do I have to wait until the batterie is full for the first time?

Try the reset while the ipod is plugged into the computer. Steps here:

If that does not work, use a different usb port on your computer, and/or, try the reset on a different computer.

Why does the message "looks like spam or a virus" appear when sending a picture from my phone?

Photos sent to the printer come up with a message saying it looks like spam or a virus. Photo printed ok first time, now gives that message in the jobs listing. Emailed from an Android phone to an HP Photosmart 6510.

The "spam/virus" message often occurs because the email did not contain any text in the subject line. Please try re-sending an email to your printer and adding text in the email's subject line.
I want to be sure that the information provided has completely resolved the issue. Please reply to this email and let me know whether or not the issue has been resolved. If the issue persists, please include the following pieces of information so that I may assist you further:
1. Are there any attachments being sent? If so, which attachment file type is being used (PDF or Word documents, JPG photos, etc)?
2. Which email address/addresses are used to send ePrint emails?
3. The results of a test email (success/fail) which will help isolate the source of the issue. Please follow the instructions below:
a. Type the word "test" in the subject line
b. Type the word "test" in the email body
c. Do not include an email signature

Everybody needs to document better.
Every office, production facility, and business seems to have its own ideas about what's best for network documentation.
For our documentation we have an internal Wiki. Its nice because it tracks changes, provides version numbers, and has a simple interface.
From Googledocs, Whiteboards, and Notebooks to Voice Recorders, Text Files, and Thumbdrives how do you document your network?

What does cloud app look like

I want to backup contacts in the Verizon cloud. I checked My Verizon, and I have the cloud, but I can't find an application labeled cloud on my interface.

Do yourself a huge favor and do NOT back up your contacts to Verizon Cloud. You will encounter nothing but trouble going forward if you do. Use Google to back up your contacts. It is very simple. Make sure all of your contacts are set to Google Contacts, Make sure You are signed into Google (only need to do this once) and your contacts will automatically back up to google. They will be Accurate, it is simple and they will always be available to you.
Verizon Cloud will arbitrarily move your contacts to the Trash Can and they will disappear from your phone, It will jumble numbers, move addresses to different contacts and when you need to reinstall them on a phone it will give you tons of trouble.

What about the notification looks like it will switch over to the creative cloud? I'd avoid it until you get a good answer to your question.

Actually, another person on the "more like this" had the right answer. It meant I had a notification for an invite that I needed to respond to.

The NEW macbook Pro and Air are EXTREMELY close in form factor
The newest macbook Pro is essentially a larger macbook Air with Retina display and options for speed in increasing prices up to an independent graphics and quad core processor.
both Air and new Pro now have PCIe SSD and permanent RAM.
The Air is the lightweight portable form factor, fast to boot and shut down, but with longer battery life than any of the macbook pro in 13"
Now the new macbook Pro and macbook Air are extremely close in form factor and nature.
both have 802ac wifi
both have permanent RAM, no superdrive
both are slim profiles and SSD
The only real differences now are (in the most expensive Pros) faster processors and quadcore processors and top end model autonomous graphics.
....and of course the retina display
both are now "very good for travel"
Other than features the form factor of the Air and Pro are VERY close now,....so now its merely a matter of features and price more than anything.
You need an external HD regardless of what you get for backups etc. Drop into an Apple store and handle both and make your choice based on features, such as Retina or non-retina, .... both at a distance now look like the same computer.
The Pro weighs more, ....but nowhere near what it used to just a month ago on the older macbook Pros
The NEW macbook Pro is a different creature entirely than the older macbook Pro, .....the new Pro is thicker than the Air, but id frankly call the NEWEST Pro a "macbook Air with Retina display" , or

Instead of Air VS Pro now,.....its really a smooth transition from Air to pro without comparing say, 2 different creatures, now its like contrasting a horse from a race horse.
Either one in 8gig of RAM (preferably)... the 4gig upgrade costs very little, the I7 you will notice only 15% faster on heavy applications over the I5, and NOTHING on most APPS.....I5 has longer battery life.
As you see below, the non-Retina 13" AIR is 82% of the Macbook with Retina display in resolution
there is no magical number of pixels per inch that automatically equates to Retina quality.
