What does the new update for the ipod do?

I keep looking. I have an Ipod from 2003 20gb. Iv'e never updated the software so I found the updates but I cant find anywhere that states what the updates do for my Ipod Im tired of looking. Please help!

I also have an old 20GB i-Pod and I too wanted to know what was in the new version, but like you I couldn't find a list of features or bug fixes or whatever.
I was happy with the i-Pod and I believe in the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", however, I also heard that the new i-Pods have on-the-go playlists, which is a feature I would really like. So, long story short, I used the new updater, the i-Pod now runs ver1.5 but there is no on-the-go feature. I'm guessing it's not supported for my old Hardware. As a compensation, though, I swear it sounds a bit better than before - dunno if there is a new decoder algorithm in the update. Haven't really answered your question, I just want to warn you that if you want to update for a particular feature, it might not be there. Apple really should publish a feature list for all versions. You should ALWAYS make sure that EVERYTHING is on your computer before any update/restore/etc., just as you shuld always make sure that your backup copy of your computer is upt ot date before any update/restore/etc.
If you do lose anything, you would just sync it back.

iClokldis a cloud service thatcomes with iPOS 5 and you do not have to use that service. If you better describe your problems then we should be able to solve them. First I would try restoring the iPod from backup. See:

What does "The iPod "Buttons" could not be synced...." mean?

Everytime i plug my iPod in to my computer this warning comes up:
"The iPod “Buttons” could not be synced. The required file is in use."
(Yes my iPod IS called Buttons, sad I know).

No, the 4th generation does not support Siri unfortunatly. You can find a list of iOS features here: Apple - iOS 6 - iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch get 200+ new features.
Notice the fine printed foot notes that state that only the 5th generation iPod Touch will be able to have Siri, among other notes.

What bluetooth protocol does the iPod Touch use with a keyboard?

Say, does anyone know what bluetooth protocol apple is using for their bluetooth keyboards for the iPhone and iPod Touch? It is probably HID, but the people at RIM (i.e. BlackBerry) use SPP. So I would think many 3rd party keyboards use SPP (Serial Port Protocol). But, then, there are many posts about "I wish Apple would support SPP" because people want to build apps that interface with external HW that only supports SPP.
What I want to do? (you ask)
I've one of these nice / expensive Think-out-side portable folding keyboards (good). That only has a serial interface (bad). There are many bluetooth "dongles" out there with serial ports (good). But they only support SPP or Serial Port Protocol (bad? maybe? depends).
See, I know RIM (BlackBerry) people support SPP on their devices. But I haven't heard (found) word one about what the iPod Touch supports. I would hate to spend $80 on one of these dongles and find out it doesn't work.
So, what does the iPod Touch use when talking to the bluetooth keyboard?

I've not had a problem before, but since the new update for Itunes, I can't download library books through Overdrive Media to my Ipod touch. It transfers to Itunes but shows a message on my IPod that it can't sync.

I don't recall updating recently, but tonight I found I had the same problem. However, if I plugged my ipod in, it then gave me the option to transfer to just ipod, or library and ipod. However, that raises other problems, because you know we have to change these over from music to audiobooks. Also, ITunes is freezing on me, even after doing a fix reinstall. It looks like it's connecting to the store and I have to end task it. Also, some freaking crap is going on with my ipod. I "lost" my audiobook option I had locked to the bottom of my page. Also, all the other music I had on my ipod is gone, wasn't much as I use this mostly to listen to audiobooks. But the only music album there is the free U2 one Apple gave out a while back. So I'm in it even worse than you right now as I have a 2 day trip planned and was adding more books to my selection, to listen while driving. But try what I told you above. If it does put it on your ipod, you can delete it and "fix" the info in iTunes, then transfer it back.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.
First try:
"First you go settings/general/usage/music/then left swipe over music and press delete and you would think it deletes your music but it doesn't instead it deletes your other but make sure your ipod is connected to a computer while doing this"
