What does the PopUp "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs" really mean and if I check the Box, how do I undo this if this was the Wrong Thing To Do?
Details
Constantly, while using Firefox (Beta v 11.0), and/or ESPECIALLY, when I have my eMail @ Mail.com open, I get this PopUp stating: "For security reasons, restarting mail.com Mail is possible only via the mail.com Mail Service. Please close this window and restart mail.com Mail" BUT Then there is a CHECKBOX: "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs."
I have no idea if Checking this Box is a Good Idea or if it will Screw-Up my mail.com Mail Service...
Anyone have an answer or explanation of the Use of this Little Check-Box?

You do not get any pop-up windows on that website if you tick that box.
That setting is stored in the cache and you should see pop-ups again if you reload the page and bypass the cache.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

• How can I get a webpage to load dialogs after mistakenly clicking "prevent this page from creating additional dialogs"?

I still need to be able to have dialogs load with the webpage. I am not able to see any images on this webpage since clicking this button by mistake. Clearing the cache does not address the problem; Re-creating my profile does not correct the problem. Firefox needs to address this issue as it is happening to too many web apps.

If the slide show is the part not working, I believe that is a Flash slide show. There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Could you see whether anything in this article helps: [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]].

• HOW DO I DISABLE THE "PREVENT THIS PAGE FROM OPENING ADDITIONAL DIALOG BOXES" OPTION ONCE SELECTED?

I clicked 'OK' thinking it reated to a specific dialog box, but now need it reversed.
Out of interest, I'm editing a weebly website design, and without the "are you sure you want to delete..." dialog, I can't actually delete anything!
Thanks!

This should work if you reload the page and bypass the cache.
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button

• I get a message saying "Firefox has prevented this page from reloading" when I am trying to load video to Facebook which stops it from loading. I click "allow" and the message just reappears. How do I allow this function?

Message reads "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading".

See:
* Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

• Error message on d-top and laptop--Firefox prevented this page from automatically loading--what do I need to do to fix/stop this from happening?

More often than not, I get the message "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". I click ALLOW and it comes back. I click the X and it goes away and allows the page to reload.
It occurs on my homepage (MSNBC) and a few -- but not all -- of my bookmarked pages.
At times, the message DOES NOT appear but I don't know what I've done to change anything to have it not appear. A couple of days later, the message is back upon loading my homepage.
This is especially annoying when trying to get into my banking website after attempting to log in...sometimes, it doesn't work and other times, after 3 or 4 refreshes, it loads.
Any suggested solutions will be appreciated.

• How to I turn off the feature that results in "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically reloading"?

When I click on the icons for sites I use regularly I get an annoying message and have to click x's and "allow"s several times to get it to go away. The message is a smug "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically reloading." Who asked it to suddenly start doing that? Why?

Firefox has a lot of usefull setting, for my opinion
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Accessibility -> "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
'''IS NOT''' one of them.
The Idea shure was great, just the implementation is not usuable for many people as seen by the number of people that post about it... and the ones that are annoyed but don't post.
There are 2 main Problems here:
1) redirect and reload, even so they are similar in what they do, really need two seperate options. While most people will like a web application, monitoring or news site to refresh their information by reloading most people do not like to be redirected from "soundslikeadeal.com" to "drivebydownloadsandhacks.net". Allowing to reload and blocking the redirect would make a lot of sense for many users...
2) Like the option to display or not display pictures for a website, this option should be able to set on a per site setting and the Dialog "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading" should not just offer the option to "Allow" for one single reload (as it does now!) but to "whitelist" as in "remember this decission" or "Always Allow reload/redirect for this Site". This would be a real Security improvement because it would allow us to by default disallow the redirection even if we need it enabled for some website that we need for our daily work!

HOW DO YOU TURN OFF "FIREFOX PREVENTED THIS PAGE FROM AUTOMATICALLY RELOADING". I did perform the "see Advanced - General - Accessibility. It worked for me and my "user" site (don't know how to say my site) and still having problems with my wife's. I have gone to OPTIONS → GONE TO → ADVANCE and CLICKED THE LINE → ""Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page…""
This did not rememdy the problem. I did try to get on the other site suggested

but got a 404 error...
I have googled the "ff prevented...." and after a number of hours searching I still have not found a fix...
REALLY HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME....

You should still disable this setting:
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
What is the value of the accessibility.blockautorefresh pref on the about:config page?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• How do I turn off the "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" dialogue ?

I am a mac user. I tried to access my bank account, but firefox 3.6.8 prevents me by telling me: "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". This is NOT a dialogue which I can click a button. Instead, nothing happens when I type my bank's URL while a small message appears below the URL field bar. I do not have the OPTIONS under the Tools menu (like on Windows version) and my preferences does not give me any option to turn this thing off. Can any one HELP me as I cannot have access to my bank website?

• Tab closes with no error msg when I click on "Allow". Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. I had to uncheck the Advance/General/Accessibility option for it to work. Why?

Msg: Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. When I click on "Allow", The 2nd tab closes with no error msg This was Home Depot redirecting to CitiGroup.
When I unchecked the Advance/General/Accessibility option to be notified of a "redirect" then things worked.
Why did clicking on "Allow" not work?
I posted step by step detail in the Trouble Shooting box below.

Thank you for your answer. It does stop the redirection notices, but now I have no idea if potentially unsafe sites are redirecting me. I cannot figure out why it has only recently started to happen on my home page though, when nothing has changed on there and I've had it set to show redirections, ever since I set up Firefox.
I guess I'll just have to make the decision as to whether I want to risk redirections or put up with the semi permanent notice.
Thanks again mha007
