  • What does this icon mean and why does a black battery appear behind it?

    All of a sudden, since last night, an intermittently flashing black battery appears behind one of the menu bar icons. Unfortunately, I don't know what the original icon means! From right to left, I have the volume icon, the wireless connection strength icon, a telephone icon, (what I think is) an Ethernet icon, then this funny icon -- three horizontal black dots, with a thin vertical line and kind of an X running through them. (Can you tell I'm not a computer person? Anyway, can anyone interpret these signs for me? Inquiring minds would very much like to know, especially if something drastic is about to happen. TIA!

    Donna,
    If you used Setup Assistant, Mac OS X 10.3: Setup Assistant migration may transfer portable-only menu items to a desktop computer may explain what is happening and how to fix it.

    Hi, well today when starting up my box I noticed these two startup messages:
    :: Initiate Random Seed
    :: Removing LeftOver files
    What does these mean? And what program/service runs it? (And what 'left over files' is it removing?) I think I never see them before. Is these message appears because I just install sudo?
    Also when shutting down there is also a message concerning a Random Seed. (Saving Random Seed).  What is it doing?
    Well...  if your head over to your /etc/rc.sysinit, you'll see exactly what it does.  If I remember correctly, saving random seed is just saving your startup time because it is random, and removing leftover files is clearing out the /tmp/ directory.

  • What does this icon mean and what does it do?

    Hi all!
    I wonder what does the icon in the bottom middle do: http://bildr.no/view/738173
    If it is some sort of an archive function where does the e-mails go then? I can not find them anywhere...
    Message was edited by: AlexSasha

    Some e-mail servers (like Google if you're using IMAP, which is the default iPhone setup for Google) don't allow you to delete messages via the iPhone Mail app. It basically moves the message from the inbox to Archive (or at least to the All Mail Folder).
    For POP3 e-mail, the iPhone does allow you to delete the messages.

  • What does this icon mean? HELP PLEASE

    Everytime i play a song in my ipod on the right corner there is a symbol its like two arrows going opposite of eachother in a circle what does it mean?

    Are you sure it isn't an icon that looks like this? (A lot smaller, or course)
    If that does look like the icon that you're getting on your iPod's screen (in the upper-right corner), then this is simply the shuffle feature.
    Go to "Settings > Shuffle > Off" to switch this setting to off.

  • What does the icon in the right hand corner of some movie clips mean.

    I have my movie almost done but now I find many of the clips have a small screen looking icon in the right hand top corner of the clip.  I can't delete those.  What does it mean and where do I get rid of it?

    Can you post a screen-cap, showing that icon in question? This ARTICLE will give you one workflow for screen-caps.
    Good luck,

  • Help! What does this icon mean???

    Hello,
    I hope this isnt too stupid of a question but could someone tell me what this icon means? I've tried searching around on Google with no results.
    I think its an error icon but the report appears to work correctly and there was no error message.
    !http://mouchet.ca/SQL-ICON.png!
    THANK YOU!

    It was a good question! Althought i'm not 100% sure, I've done some tests and I think that if you look at your SQL statement you should see that there's a sub-query in it. That was my case. If not would you please post your query ?
    In my case : select 1 from mrn_invoice MINVO where exists (select 1 from fac_invoices FINVO where FINVO.no_seq = MINVO.no_seq) ;

    I think the ICON means there is an open session. For a VISA comm port use the VISA close.  You should close the resource every time you are done using it.
      ------->
         Before the VISA close is run                               After the VISA close is run

  • What does that icon mean?

    Check out the left-most symbol. What does it mean?
    Thanks

    That means that video is partially watched. Unwatched will be a solid blue, fully watched will be an open circle.

  • What does this icon mean?

    Hello,
    My iPhone 4 battery is draining 1% on every 3 minutes. I fully charged iPhone and removed all the apps from multi-tasking expect the Apple pre-built apps. Even I turned off all the location services, notifications. Reduced the brightness and turn off several additional settings in apps including turn off EQ and Sound Check options in iPod.
    Currently I've 3 mail accounts configured for Fetch and 1 Exchange Server account configured for Push.
    Current Battery Status: 90%
    Time since last full charge:
    Usage - 44 minutes
    Standby: 4 hours, 9 minutes
    Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

    Since you did not put a picture of the icon in question i can only assume you mean the one that looks like an arrow that pops up on the top right of the screen, that is the location services icon, anytime an app uses location services it pops up to let you know, i.e if you use the camera and its asks to use location services for the places tab in your photos. you can turn off location services in settings, not sure of the impact on the battery with locations running but i have not noticed any reduction, hope this helps?????? maybe im answering the wrong question here

  • Top right corner, beside the power supply bar, ther is a padlock with a circle around it.  What does this icon mean?

    On my ipod touch, in the right hand corner, beside the power bar.... a padlock with a circle around it has come up.  It doesn't change the actions of the ipod, but I'm just wondering what it means.

    this meens that when you turn it landscape it wont turn. to fix this double click the home button then it will come up with the multi-screen options. Pull the bar to the left and there is a grey box with a circle and padlock in. Press this button and the sign will come off and you will be able to turn it landscape now. Hope this helps. It worked for me.

    Also can u suggest some urls where some documaents can be available to enhance Java skills to develop UDFs.
    Points will be awarded. Pls help. I hav been assigned huge responsibilities in XI, though I am an Abaper!
    PS: Can u suggest any PDF where I can come to know about the different syntax, commands as used above, so that I can develop my own java codes....
    Arnab .

    Hi,
    1. int count;
       for (int i = 0; i<count.length; i++)
           count = Integer.parseInt(count);
    Ans: Here Count is a variable and all the count variables should be changed to an Object.
    2. if(POINT.compareTo("R") != 0)
    Ans: Here POINT should be a String Constant
    public int compareTo(String anotherString)
    Compares two strings lexicographically. The comparison is based on the Unicode value of each character in the strings. The character sequence represented by this String object is compared lexicographically to the character sequence represented by the argument string. The result is a negative integer if this String object lexicographically precedes the argument string. The result is a positive integer if this String object lexicographically follows the argument string. The result is zero if the strings are equal; compareTo returns 0 exactly when the equals(Object) method would return true.
    3. if (COUNT_02.compareTo("0") != 0)
    Ans : Same as (2)
    4. result.addValue(EAN_04count_EAN+3);
    Ans: Here what is result ?  Check for result.addValue method in Java API @ http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/
    5.result.addValue(EAN_04count_EAN+3);
    Ans: Same as 4
    6.result.addValue(Quantitycount_qty);
    Ans: Same as 4

  • What does the icon mean?

    Kai so it's been on ipod for a month or so and I have no clue what it is. Its placed next to the battery icon. It looks like a lock with an arrow circling it. Any ideas ? I don't have any other icons up there (exluding the battery one of coarse).
    Help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kathleen.

    Screen orientation lock. Allows you to have the device ignore gravity. Press the home button twice to bring up the running/recent apps section at the bottom of the screen, then swipe to the right to display the iPod quick access controls. The lock button is at the left of this group of controls.

    It means you need to
    1) create the suffix and db for o=company.com on the consumer.
    2) enable the replica for o=company.com on the consumer
    Please refer to the documentation about setting up replication for more information.
