What does this arrow shaped Status icon mean. cant find in iPhone manual.

look at this photo, http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/AmmY6r50acAF6NWNCGCHDw?feat=directlink screen shot of my iPhone status bar, the status icon that is in question has a red box around it.
it is a screen shot of my Camera Roll on my iPhone, in it is a picture i was trying to email someone. however at the last minute i decided not to send the picture and i canceled the email, which gave me the option to delete draft so i did. then it takes me back to the Camera Roll, and when i tap the image to reveal the status bar at the top that icon that has a red box around it is there, when i exit camera roll it disappears, and this is the only time iv ever seen it, i noticed this, and i repeated exactly what i did about 4 times and it was there each time. on the 5th and 6th and any more attempts after that it did not appear again.
i thought it might have something to do with location services, but the location of the picture from where i was when this was happening was in the opposite direction. and the status icon pointed in the same direction each time.
anyone have any ideas?

Yep, it's for Location Services. I think they changed out the crosshairs and are using that arrow instead. That arrow doesn't act like a compass though... just a static icon.

Does this mean (hidden away deep, deep down in the Epson technical support section) that I actually CAN'T SCAN with this machine, in 10.5.5 ?

It means that to have a hope of it working, you must install the software on a system where the boot drive is formatted as HFS+ (Mac OS Extended). This is pretty common with Mac software; many drivers and apps won't work on UFS volumes. That doesn't mean that the software will actually work, just that it's guaranteed not to work if your boot drive is formatted as UFS. HFS+ is the normal, default format for Macs, so unless you reformatted your boot drive and explicitly selected UFS as the format, this probably won't be an issue for you.

What does this Apple pop up message mean?

One thing Apple really needs to do is make their pop up messages that appear when doing certain things more user friendly. Start by making them understandable to someone that didn't invent the dang iPhone, therefore, doesn't know everything about them either! The one I got this morning has me completely stumped! I have no clue what it's saying or more importantly what I need to do?

What does a flashing question mark icon mean, alternating with the finder icon, at startup?

When I power up a small folder appears against a grey screen. Insode the folder are alternating question mark and finder icon.

It means that your iMac cannot find an operating system to boot from.

I'll tell you what it means.
It means simply don't move anything once it is created or downloaded.
Leave the development certificate wherever it downloads to.
Leave the p12 wherever it gets created.
Leave the PP wherever it downloads to.
That was all it took for me in the end. I wasted 2 weeks zipping unzipping running codesign on apps and ipas.
It takes me longer to upload an app to Apple than it does to create one and submitted it to Google and Amazon.

Any idea what's going on? Yes. As the error message says, your link isn't a valid MySQL resource. In other words, it can't link to the database. Most likely reason: you have not defined your testing server correctly, or MySQL isn't running. WHAT DOES THIS HOT SYNC ERROR MESSAGE MEAN AND HOW CAN I FIX THE PROBLEM??

I have spent hours upon hours trying to figure out what is wrong and why I cannot complete a hot sync with my computer. I have done a hard reset and reinstalled the palm desktop software numerous times with no luck. I bought a book on the palm. No mention in the book about this particular problem.
Can anyone out there help me with this problem??? I would be forever grateful!!

To check which applications are installed on your palm, you can click on the home button on your palm and make sure it says "all" on the top right of your screen. This will show you all the apps installed on your palm. Look through all the applications listed there and see if there is anything extra. You can list them here and I will tell you if there is anything that didnt come with your device when you purchased it.
You will not need the palm cd to reinstall everything again after you do a hard reset because all the info will be backed up on your computer from your sync. You stated that all the information is on your computer after you sync'd so you dont have to worry about losing it. Once you sync again after performing the hard reset, you will be able to get all the info back again on your palm.

What does this Disk Utility warning message mean?

I just ran Disk Utility on Leopard 10.5, which is installed and running on an external firewire drive, as I still like the ability to run classic on my powerbook g4. Permissions were repaired but this message appeared:

What should I do now, if anything?

Nothing. I think every Leopard user in the world gets this message.

What does the reds striped battery icon mean?

all of a sudden my iPad displayed a white outlined battery with a few red lines. When i left it the battery was about 69%. I may have run it down. I've plugged it in to recharge but nothing seems to be happening? Did i kill that battery? I've only had this for about 3 years, so can it be dead already?

It's possible that the battery has died. It would not be unheard of, that's for sure. Especially if the battery was defective.
Have you tried resetting the iPad to see if it comes around?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

What does the red dot next to the iPhone Icon mean after "find my iPhone" has successfully located the phone?

Yep, it the phone is switched off, there is no way to locate it. What you're looking at is the last located position, which will be available for 24 hours.

That's a problem writing to the Time Machine drive.
As BDAqua says, verify your internal HD and repair the external, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If that doesn't help, try the things in the green box of #D2 there.

on my open screen i have a lot of icons and there is a sillver airrow pointing outwards what does this mean?

Shortcuts have arrows on them to indicate they are a shortcut, and not the actual file itself. Mine point towards the inside of the icon though.
