WHAT DOES THIS HOT SYNC ERROR MESSAGE MEAN AND HOW CAN I FIX THE PROBLEM??

"THE HOT SYNC OPERATION WAS INTERRUPTED. SOME OF YOUR DATA WAS NOT BACKED UP."
"(ERROR: EASNotify.dll failed a confirmation query and cancelled the sync operation).
HotSync Error: An application cancelled synchronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop of Install Tool. (8009)"
I have spent hours upon hours trying to figure out what is wrong and why I cannot complete a hot sync with my computer. I have done a hard reset and reinstalled the palm desktop software numerous times with no luck. I bought a book on the palm. No mention in the book about this particular problem.
Can anyone out there help me with this problem??? I would be forever grateful!!

To check which applications are installed on your palm, you can click on the home button on your palm and make sure it says "all" on the top right of your screen. This will show you all the apps installed on your palm. Look through all the applications listed there and see if there is anything extra. You can list them here and I will tell you if there is anything that didnt come with your device when you purchased it.
You will not need the palm cd to reinstall everything again after you do a hard reset because all the info will be backed up on your computer from your sync. You stated that all the information is on your computer after you sync'd so you dont have to worry about losing it. Once you sync again after performing the hard reset, you will be able to get all the info back again on your palm.

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.

I found some steps to help resolve the "Activation: failed" error messsage you are getting on your Apple TV:
Restart your base station or router. Sometimes this is done by turning the router off for a few seconds, and then on again, but check the documentation provided by the manufacturer.
To restart your Apple TV, press and hold Menu and Menu down/scroll ( - ) for about 6 seconds and then choose Restart from the menu.
If the issue continues after restarting, reset your router or base station and Apple TV to factory settings
Reset your base station or router. Use the documentation provided by the manufacturer to reset to factory settings.
To reset your Apple TV perform a factory restore.

When I go to the command prompt, and type javac StdOut.java (StdOut.java is a java file that contains the source code for the StdOut method), I get this response:
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or extrenal command, operable program or batch file.'
I have java version 1.6.0_02

I'll give you a more specific answer than that, although the above poster is also right.
You're missing one of two things: either you didn't install the development kit for java (you just have the jre instead), or you didn't set the path to include where your javac executable is.
First make sure that javac exists on your machine. If it does, then you need to set the environment variable. I'd google that, as it's relatively simple and I'm too lazy to type out how to do it.

That's a problem writing to the Time Machine drive.
As BDAqua says, verify your internal HD and repair the external, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If that doesn't help, try the things in the green box of #D2 there.

If your OS is fully up-to-date, that is close to impossible. The Flashback site has not been known to be active since long before August.
Did you migrate any users from an older system, perhaps? It might have been transferred if that is the case.
ISP's are famous for mis-diagnosing these things with regard to Macs, so you might want to challenge them to provide you with their logs and specifics about what they are seeing.
Is it possible that another device is on your network that could be causing this, either something you own or a neighbor using your network?

It sounds like some of the Unix Executable commands were removed (or the permissions to those were modified) out of the /usr/bin/ folder. You can try opening disk utility and repairing permissions on Macintosh HD or you can reboot your computer and holding down option-r when it comes back up to reinstall Lion again. This will not delete your personal information or applications you have installed but it would be best to back it up to Time Machine before you do. The article on how to do this is here. (http://www.apple.com/macosx/recovery/) I have had to do this before and it works like a charm. It should fix your issue but grab a cup of coffee because its going to take about 35 - 40 minutes depending on how fast your computer is.
