What does this look like?

Today when I turned on my MBP it seems that near the top right there is a darker crescent shaped area. I don't remember having this until today, though I have been using my laptop in clamshell mode for a while.
Not sure why this is happening because when I view it from different angles I do not see this, only when it's straight on.
Any idea on what the issue could be and, or how to fix it?
I've attached an image I took for it.

unless your drives are running hot or significantly above average, i wouldn't worry about it.   but, if you still want one then it can be ordered through IBM parts here or by calling 800-388-7080 (options 2:1:1) for $32.94 plus tax and shipping.

  • To clear cookies i should access tool menu but what does this llok like as I cant see one!

I want to delete all cookies but I need to access the Tool menu. What does it look like as I cant find/ recognize it. A list of the screen functions and where to access things from would help
    Thanks

You can find the Options menu item in the right column if you click the orange Firefox button.<br />
Via the arrow at the right of Options you can open an extra menu with other Option choices.<br />
Items that show a distinct highlighted arrow act as two different choices: the main item on the left and an extra menu with choices if you click the arrow. Items with an ellipsis (&hellip;) indicate that another window will open.

  • Do Flash Sites appear? if not what happens and what does it look like?

Has anyone tried any Flash based websites to see what it looks like?
If anyone has any screen captures or photos of the iPhone viewing Flash sites, I'm interested to see what happens before I buy an iPhone. Thanks

    Hi,
Right now you cannot download anything to the Iphone, as there is no user access to the file system.
You can download to your computer and then sync to move pictures, songs, etc to the phone through itunes for now.
    Hope this helps!

  • Fully Charged icon.  What does it look like?

When the phone is fully charged, what does the icon look like? It always shows a little charge bolt when charging. All I've noticed was the green battery is filled up with no message.

Fully charged icon I am assuming is your battery..
Therefore, it should be a FULL GREEN BATTERY on the top right?
In the battery there should be no message..
It just shows you when the battery is full and not full

  • Bad pixel-what does it look like

I have two small spots on my 20" cinema display. They are irregular in size and dark. What are they?

It is helpful to inspect for bad pixels using a test pattern program like the following:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/23237
Usually bad pixels will show up better using solid primary color screens. This is because it is usually an individual sub-pixel that fails, meaning just one color will fail among the Red, Green and Blue sub-pixel that makes up every "white" pixel.
If the spots on your screen are always dark and irregular in shape but still small, like the size of a text period symbol, then it could be some kind of contamination or particle inside the screen. Good luck.

  • I am a new user of iTunes and want to download music.   The instructions are:  1. Find the item you want  2. Click the button to download.   My problem is that I can not find a download button - what does it look like please?

I am a new uses of iTunes and want to download music.   The instructions say:
    1.  Find the item you want
    2.  Click the button to download
My problem is that I can't find a download button to click.   Where does it appear please?

Thank you a million times over.   I've literally spent hours trying to solve this and I think those responsible for compiling the 'Help' notes for iTunes would be well advised to make this point clear in the downloading instructions.

  • My Xorg looks like the Mandelbrot Set. What does yours look like?

Seriously.  ATI needs to stop sucking at life and make drivers that don't do this shit.  I've been wrestling with this on and off for weeks and this is the fruit of my efforts.
edit: before someone asks, I am using an HD 4870 with the proprietary drivers.

  • Does This look like the new, larger iPad coming?

This picture is right off of the Apple website.
Is this the new, larger iPad that is coming next from Apple that everyone keeps writing about?

I have had some time to look at this, it could be either the cover/screen for a MacBook/Pro/Air.
It's kinda hard to tell, but if this was a larger iPad, I think the Apple Logo on the back should be turned 90 degrees clockwise?

  • What does output look like

I have RoboHelp on my computer, and I used an older version
years ago. Can I pull in multiple flash/html files and generate an
output of one swf file? If so, Robohelp may REALLY solve some of
    our problems!!!

    Hi RedGloves
No, FlashHelp doesn't produce a single large all encompassing
.SWF containing the help system. Instead, the topics remain as
individual HTML files. What changes is the Navigation Pane and Main
Toolbar. Those elements are presented using assorted .SWF
components working in concert to provide the FlashHelp experience.
    Cheers... Rick

    http://www.bonanza.com/listings/iPhone-4S-32GB-Factory-Unlocked/73541761

So, with that piece of information, what do you think?

  • What USB Port Look like

I have been searched to find USB Port for my printer HP.  I don't know what does it look like?

Not sure what your HP printer question has to do with an AirPort Express.
The USB connector jack on the back of the printer is about 1/4 inch square shaped.
A USB printer cable appears below. The connector that would plug into your HP printer is the square shaped end.

Sync message, "You have changed the settings for your iphone.  Would you like to apply these changes?" What does this mean?  I don't recall changing anything...

The main settings that are changed in these cases can be found in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386
To ensure you don't lose any data you don't want taken off, ensure that each Summary, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Books, & Photos have the settings you would prefer on the computer.
If anything gets changed on any of those pages, you will be prompted with that message.  If they look fine, especially after adding some media like songs or videos, then you can apply the changes without fear.

  • "This does not look like a tar archive"

I've seen other posts but everybody's fix seems to not work for me.  Here is my error:

No matter what, I can't seem to get past this.

It looks like packer is trying to download the PKGBUILD for setuptools from the AUR, but it doesn't exist. However, setuptools is provided by python2-distribute in extra (or python2-setuptools in the AUR). I think you should remove the current setuptools that you have, install python2-distribute (or python2-setuptools), then try to update again. I think that should work.

I am not too sure if thats a virus or trojan.. I always thought that macs didn't get virus? this looks like one to me… any experts around? please help me fix it with your instructions? really don't know what to do... thanks

Those are not viruses. You have probably installed some malware:
The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using Dr.Web Light from the App Store. It's free, and since it's from the App Store, it won't destabilize the system. If you prefer one of the better known commercial products, then Thomas recommends using Sophos.(Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.) If you already use Sophos, then be aware of this if you are using Mavericks: OS X Mavericks- Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause unexpected restarts
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.
