My suggestion
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC.
Disconnect all other USB devices, except the mouse and keyboard.
Stop all other programs except iTunes.

Error 1015 means you're trying to downgrade your iOS. You cannot do that. This is from an Apple article:

OSStatus error -9459 what does this mean? Can't make my slideshow export to desktop in order to burn DVD. Did it last night. Won't work this morning. Am stuck at the point where the slideshow exports to desktop as a m4v . I did this last night and then changed it to a mpg and burned it to a DVD without any problem. If you do not have a local copy of a song which you have purchased (i.e. it is available via iTunes in the Cloud), you may need to redownload it before you can transfer it to your device. You may find the following article helpful:

I had been getting this all morning and checked other messages from the community. THe one which worked was trying a different brand of disc.
I had been using Verbatim which had copied the music fine off the Real Player on my PC at school, but wouldn't work with I Tunes. Tried a Staples and an Office Depot CD-R , both of which did the job.
