What does this mean - Script: Chrome://tavgp/content/avg/avgtbapi.js:130

Eachb time I start my browser I get a message as follows: "Warning: Unresponsive Script". Next I click a continue button an it proceeds to open very slowly. Also, when I am typing an E-mail message, the text sometimes cannot keep up with my typing .
The problem begins after Mozilla and after Yahoo are easily opened but begins when I open Yahoo Mail.
The bad message is as follows: Script: Chrome://tavgo/content/avg/avgtbapi.js:130 (there is a full space preceding the word chrome).

That is a problem with an AVG extension (toolbar).

    # Open the Add-ons manager (Click the Firefox button and then click Add-ons)
    # On the Extensions panel, if you have any AVG add-ons, click on them to select them and then click Disable
    # Restart Firefox to see if you no longer get the error

The opperating system I am using is 10.7.4, and updating to the latest version currently. Computer is running fine, except that when I did some utility repairs, I got the warning above, and not really sure what do, in regards to repairing it correctly, not just getting the message off of my computer.

  • When Firefox tries to open another window, I get a failed script message: Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595 and I get asked to continue or stop it. When I stop it, the new window opens. How do I fix this?

Whenever I try to open another Firefox window (by right clicking on a link or if a link tries to open a window - like printing Google maps/directions), I get a pop-up window that says a script is busy or not responding and gives me the choice to continue or stop script. • Nonresponsive script Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595

Several months ago I updated Firefox (not sure now which version) and since then it is much slower loading and I get this message before it will load Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595 If I 'stop script' it continues and eventually loads. I prefer Firefox, but Safari loads immediately and so does Internet Explorer.

tavgp is definitely AVG related (AVG with a prefix and suffix). AVG installed the toolbar. This has been an ongoing problem even on Firefox 2, but it hit the most people once Firefox 3 went into production.
There isn't a problem with AVG Free in itself, just with the extension(s) it installs.
    There is more information in
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
but the directions basically tell you to reinstall AVG Safe without the Link Scanner Component. As long as you keep it disabled you're okay.

You can try installing 7-Zip (free), then right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file to unpack its contents, and install AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. It may still not install successfully, but if it doesn't you may get a more useful error message regarding the reason why.

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Once you are safely connected go to the iPod Summary tab and make sure "manually manage music and videos" is checked:

  • What does this mean ---- load-on-startup 1 /load-on-startup

    Hi All,
Anybody please tell me what does this mean:
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    Thanks in advance
    amitindia

    From the dtd :
The load-on-startup element indicates that this servlet should be
loaded (instantiated and have its init() called) on the startup
of the web application. The optional contents of
these element must be an integer indicating the order in which
the servlet should be loaded. If the value is a negative integer,
or the element is not present, the container is free to load the
servlet whenever it chooses. If the value is a positive integer
or 0, the container must load and initialize the servlet as the
application is deployed. The container must guarantee that
servlets marked with lower integers are loaded before servlets
marked with higher integers. The container may choose the order
of loading of servlets with the same load-on-start-up value.

  • How can I get rid of this? script:chrome://messenger/content/mailWindows.js:173

    Hello,
I have combed the internet for an answer but cannot find anything conclusive.
Each time I open Thunderbird from scratch I get this message:
    script:chrome://messenger/content/mailWindows.js:173
This has been going on for several days now.
Once you answer the pop up question, one way or the other, the program carries on downloading messages.
Any advice would be very welcome.
I am on windows 8 home edition.
    Cheers
    Peter

The error has nothing to do with the browser called chrome. It has to do with javascript in Thunderbird acting on the thunderbird chrome (that is the user interface your see.)
If you have McAfee the first port of call is their chat support and ask them to check your settings. There are just to many permutations of "what works" as they have now released about 4 versions that mess up Thunderbird and all have a different fix.
