What does this "Provisioning" thing?
under Settings, General, scroll down and right above the "Reset" tab there is a "Profile" tab that says "Headlight Testers". When you touch that it takes you to the "provisioning" screen That shows a large image of the "Settings" icon and says
HeadlightTesters
Apple Inc.
Verified(in green) and a "Remove" button in red next to it.
Then under that says:

Any idea what this is?
Yes that MUST be it......I am using beta software that I and the developer have been using and testing before its next release. I had a small feeling that is what it couldve been. Thanks for ensuring me i wasnt going crazy (well i am buuuut.....) lol

If you had Firefox save your Yahoo password, first try deleting that here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
The "signed out" message seems to be related to how Yahoo authenticates you. Some users have reported that disabling automatic proxy detection solves the problem, and it also resolves an issue of getting logged out every few minutes, if you have ever experienced that.
To make the change:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "Network" mini-tab, click the "Settings" button, then choose "No Proxy" and OK your way back out.
If your work connection requires you to use a proxy server, try the "Use system settings" option instead.

My Iphone 5 does this weird thing where it just freezes, some random vertical lines show up, and shuts off. Does anyone know what the cause of this is?
Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

What does this mean?
My iphone 4s just developed a similar problem. Ultimately, after a visit to the Genius Bar at which I was offered a replacement phone for $149, I took the phone to a non-Apple repair shop which diagnosed the problem as tarnished pins in the docking connector and replaced the connector for $49.
The symptoms I experienced were that the phone would not pull a charge. I tried different cables, wall outlet versus computer USB connection, etc. The screen stayed black until I depressed the sleep button, at which time the red battery / lightening bolt symbol would flash three times and then the screen would go black.
If your battery is dead, that icon will not show up at all. If you get the icon, it means your battery is run down and needs to recharge, but the defective docking connector is preventing the battery from taking the charge. -

My MacBook Pro says: iDisc not mounted, what does this mean???
I'm trying to acess my iDisc and it's not working. Message pops up that says "iDisc not mounted", what does this mean? I can no longer download music or movies from itunes also, because it says startup disc is full. I've tried to delete items from my computer, still not enough room. I don't know what to do here. Maybe I accidentally deleted the iDisc??? Also, the Mobile Me thing isn't working either...it says "an error was returned from the server. check back later." Guurrrrhhhh! Somebody please help me....

I'm stumped.Hi there I've just installed CS4 Pro on Windows 7 64bit and got exactly the same result as you. Did you manage to find anything out, because the thing that bothered me was the limited functionality (what ever that is). Is it just a case of Windows 7 having a newer version of ActiveX already installed?

I just received my iPad2 today. When I turned it on it only showed a USB cable and the iTunes icon. What does this mean?

What does this component do? ipod nano 1g
Hi,
i've had to disassemble my iPod nano 1G at some point because it came into contact with water.
I cleaned it up and it worked fine aside from the adhesive on some of the tapes on the inside being less sticky.
The circled component in the picture came off and I glued it back on. After replacing the battery yesterday I found that the same component lay on my carpet this morning, yet the iPod has been working without flaws thus far. So I'm wondering: What does this thing actually do and should I bother putting it back in?
Also, it seems that not all 1G iPods have this component. The component itself seems to be a type of electric jumper.
I'm aware that this is not the most critical issue. I'm curious though, so if anyone could provide some info on the purpose (or respectively the effect of the removal) of this component I'd very much appreciate it. =)

All I see is a little gray circle with an X to the right.
Click on your ipod's name in the source list on the left, and it might tell you the sync status instead of the download status.
Frankly, itunes is so darn fussy, I can't say I've downloaded and synced an ipod at the same time.

I tried to download the latest OSX for my iMac - Mountain Lion.
This is the message that I received:
"We could not complete your purchase. The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
What does this mean?The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS

Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.Interesting ... thank you! Actually I had that external drive, Western Digital, a while back on my second last? or third last? laptop ... the external drive died with a slew of pictures I had carefully uploaded to it :-(

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
