What does "Use settings as default" do/mean?

When you bring up the Theme-Music-Settings inspector for a Slideshow in iPhoto '09, there's a checkbox at the bottom called "Use settings as default". What does this actually do?
Does it mean use ALL of the settings (Theme, Music & Settings) for the currently selected Event, each time you play that Event's slideshow?
Or does it mean use the Music & Settings settings for the currently selected Theme, so that, whenever you use that Theme for a slideshow, it always uses the currently selected Music, etc?

As far as I can tell it's just for that particular slideshow or album.

  • What does call failed and call busy mean?

I call my bf on Skype every time I see him on there and it rings and eventually it says call failed and sometimes it will say call busy, what does call failed and call busy mean?

    WuTom wrote:
If a call is marked as "Call ended" does this guarantee the other person ended the call, or can it also mean the call disconnected or was dropped?
Was talking with someone and at one point the "Call ended - call dropped". Few other times it was just marked as "Call ended", they have bad internet. So is it possible the "Call ended" means the call was dropped due to internet or were they for definite hanging up?
    Thanks
    Hi WuTom,
From experience, it depends on the platform which you are using. In my case, my boyfriend is using Skype for iPhone and I am using Skype for Mac. Sometimes I find that the "Call ended - Call dropped" is the result of bad internet on my or his part. "Call Ended" on its own could mean one of two things, among others:
    1. A person accidentally touches the red end call button; or
    2. Skype crashes unexpectedly (either because of internet as you said or other issues such as flat battery)
This is just from my personal experience, but I do hope it clears some stuff up for you.

What does "Press F12 for BBS POPUP" mean when I switch my Equium on?
    Any idea? Thanks!

    Hi
I presume you are reading the message provided from POST (Power On Self Test)
There you can see different messages.
    As far as I know pressing F12 at the beginning of the boot process will enable the boot menu. Then you can choose between different boot options and boot devices;
So dont worry, its nothing unusual.
    I think it should be possible to disable this in the BIOS;
Check the option for Boot Settings Configuration / Quiet Boot -> Disabled or something like this.
Cannot remember exactly how the option is called.
    greetings

  • What does 'kernel bug in process suhelperd' mean in very simple terms please

what does 'kernel bug in process suhelperd' mean in very simple terms please

    Hi,
Any that ends in a "d" tends to be a dameon process used by the System as a whole.
As in launchd is the process that make sure all the Extensions and Kexts that run the OS are started.
helper would refer to a specific thing  (the info you posted offers no reference to that and I don't know off the top of my head)
The su would probably refer to the permissions this item has at that moment in time (su is normally a Terminal Instruction allowing temporary but high level access).
Without more info about a possible link to an action within the OS or an app it would be hard to say if it is a real concern.
It seems to refer to a conflict.  It could be that the item is not written for the current OS, is outdated via Upgrades for instance, or written in a way that is now Protected by the way the current OS works.
Console Messages can be helpful when you can attribute them to specific events such as a Crash Log or the Action in an App matching a Time in the Log (you generally have to be watching).

Yes it is a check to see if you have Google Toolbar (a nasty piece of software - I never use it myself).

They will always have the latest Flash Player builds and NO bundled software. Whenever you see an "update" notice, download the installer from the link(s) and run it (them) offline to update. MUCH safer and hassle free.

What does "network connection has timed out" mean?

It means that the destination server is taking too long to respond. This can sometimes be resolved by closing safari and reopening it, turning off your modem, and then after 10secs turning it back on, or if you have and airport extreme/express, or Time Capsule, restarting those.
    Good Luck
