What 'doesn't' work on iPhone 3GS with OS6?
I still use a 3GS and installed OS6. Not sure if this caused some email problems -- no longer synching between iMac previously-read emails & iPhone (which remains to show as unread). Is there a solution? Seems this problem began after switching to OS6.

Restoring backup doesn't work! Iphone 3GS, Itunes 9
I live in Holland, but I presently am in Japan. In Japan I made a backup of my Iphone. Afterward I tried to install some apps I downloaded through Itunes (while still being in Japan). When I tried to put the apps on my Phone I received the message stating it would delete apps that weren't on the computer yet. So I authorized this computer (using my login data) and started syncing, even though the message still appeared. As a result I now have only a few apps left. Most of them have been removed from my Iphone and strangely, none of the apps I downloaded here (in Japan) were put on the Iphone!?!?!
So I did a restore. Yet, strangely, I don't get my original apps back.
I even restored the original Backup folder from a couple of days ago, so everything should be there.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem is?Iphone will sync apps with only one computer at a time. If you sync to another computer, then it will erase the current content from the iphone first, then replace with content from the new computer.

Just that. Updated to iOS 5 and (after LOTS of issues) succesfully but when i open REMINDERS i don't have the PLUS to add items. Can't do anything with this app. Anyone had the same problem?
You were absolutely right, turning on reminders on iCloud settings makes the plus symbol appear in the app. THX A LOT!

Last year I brought from China (I am in Australia) an IPhone 3GS with operating system of 4.1 This IPhone came brand new in box etc. I want to update the operating system because a lot of the apps need newer software, however It will not work properly or update. Why?

Somebody help!What happened when you connected your iPhone to your computer while running iTunes on your computer? You should be prompted through the restore process. If it doesn't work try getting your iPhone into Recovery Mode.

I have an old iPhone 3Gs with software version 4.3.5, I am trying to use it again, and it works fine, but I have not been able to update the software. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone, the network connection could not be established". This happens even though I have a working internet connection.
Besides that, all the other functions work properly, even synchronize apps and library.
Will I be able to update the software?look around the forum tons of people repport that they can't update

I tried to reset my iPhone (3gs) with deleting all data. When it power off and automatically again on then it is showing Apple logo only. Not restore and startup my phone. iPhone alerming low charge and I tried to charge and not charging.
What I should do now?Something has gone wrong. Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, select "new". -

Unable to restore iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4 (error 1013)
I recently updated my 16GB iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4 (iPhone2,14.0_8A293Restore.ipsw) using iTunes 9.2 - it worked fine for a few days then all of a sudden I got a pop up message saying "you are unable to make or receive calls, please connect to iTunes". I did so and restored the firmware, it went through the whole cycle, unpacked, installed, verified and when it was about to be completed I got the following error from iTunes:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1013)"
The phone remained in restore mode (iTunes icon and USB cable). I tried restoring again with the same result. I then deleted the firmware file, rebooted and reinstalled (same error). I then deleted a reinstalled iTunes (no dice). I tried alternative USB ports and cables and also tried on 2 other computers and tried all this in DFU mode too yet nothing has worked.
I would also like to point out that it is an original O2 phone with O2 chi[p that has *never been jailbroken*. Any ideas as to whats wrong? Or what I can do? Thanks in advance for you help!OK, so nothing else was working so I took my phone into the Genius bar and explained what had happened. The Genius said He was unsure what error 1013 was so he looked it up and explained "It's an error related to the baseband and that more than likely the phone was unable to communicate with Apple servers as Apple had the phone marked as non existent"
He continued to explain that there was a fix he could do but would be quicker and easier to replace my phone. He did so and I left happy.

Using iPhone 3Gs with noise canceling headset
I recently upgraded from a 3G to a 3Gs. I used the 3G with a corded connection from the audio jack to a Lightspeed Zulu aviation noise canceling headset. It worked great. However, with the 3Gs I can hear the person I am talking to fine, but they say they can barely hear me. This never happened when I used my 3G phone with the NC headset. Is there a volume adjustment on the outgoing audio in the 3Gs?

No, if the phone is bought from AT&T in the US, it is locked to AT&T and AT&T do not offer unlocking, so it would only be able to be used with AT&T.
