What DVD to iPod software are you using?

I know this topic has probably been beat to death, but I'm just curious. BTW, I did a search for my questions as well!
I've tried PQ DVD to iPod and Super DVD to iPod and they both have + and - about them. It seems like the PQ software is a little easier to use and you can actually control the DVD where with the Super software you can't. The Super doesn't have the progress bar like the PQ one and I find that very helpfull! Also with the PQ one you can actually control the DVD menu through this software and can crop the DVD. I did find that the Super one had a better picture without changing any settings. That seems like the determing factor for me. I did change some of the setting on the PQ one and it really didn't get any better. If someone could help me with these settings, it would definately make my decision easier. Basically I like the PQ one better if I could only get better resolution. Sometimes it just isn't all that clear as far as the pixels are concerned or maybe I'm just asking for too much with this iPod?
I'm ready to buy some type of DVD to iPod software so what exactly do I have to change to get the resolution better on each software?
Thanks!

No I haven't tried those and I'm sure there are many different ways to go about it. I'm really not interested in trying alot of different softwares, I would just rather find one and stick to it and learn as much as I can about how to use it. I'm going to convert a few more DVD's and see if I have the same problems with the pixels. I currently have two different comedian DVD's installed in my 60gb with the same software, one looks very good and the other is where you can see the pixels in the backround. It may just be the backround on the stage he is on because I don't have that problem with the other DVD. It may also be the DVD I'm sure.

  • What model/brand external HD are you using?

I am looking for a 2-3TB HD. I bought the Seagate 3TB External HD for MAC/PC it kept stalling my itunes. It also went to sleep but wpould never wake up. I would have to disconnect it and reconnect it every time. Seagate told me to download a keep awake program for the HD but i dont want it to stay awake. I want it to wake up everytime the mac wakes up. I know its possible because i have a 500GB Buffalo HD and it starts up when its supposed to. And when i downloaded the software to wake it up it still went to leep and never woke up.please help .....
I need it for iTunes and imovie-movies.
I want to be able to free up all the space that is taken up by my music and movies and move it to the external. I still want to access it on a daily basis to listen to music.

    Hello again, Jorge.
I keep thinking about your situation and the simplest, best answer is that I have no real answer. I'll just tell you the ideas that have been whirling around in my head...
You said: "And to wake it back up i hae to disconnect the power to it and reconnect."
    - You mean it won't wake back up if you double-click its icon on the desktop?
I've never really tried to do what you want to do with a worry about sleeping, but I'm supposing that if you have your iTunes directing itself toward a depository of music on the external drive, that double-clicking on a song in an iTunes playlist would wake up most any external drive when you actually need to have it waked up--that is, that somewhere under the hood the system will locate the external drive and force it to start up so it can meet the demand of the iTunes' command you just initiated. If that doesn't work, then a double-click on the external's drive icon certainly should work. If that double-click on the drive's icon doesn't work, then something is wrong.
The question would be where the "wrong" resides-- with your operating system or with the drive (either the drive's hardware, its drivers, or much less likely, some interfering application programming residing on the external).
You said: "I know its possible because i have a 500GB Buffalo HD and it starts up when its supposed to."
    - You mean that you've just now tried the Buffalo with this exact same system in its current condition and it wakes up when the system wakes up on the main hard drive but the new Seagate won't wake under the exact same conditions, nothing different at all?
    - With both drives did you use Apple's disk formatting? Or was one formatted using a manufacturer's drive formatter?
If you didn't use Apple's software to format the Seagate external, then maybe try a clean erasure and reformat using Apple's Disk Utility (that's included with the system) on it? Format it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Maybe that might help, or at least make the external drive's icon double-clickable so you don't have to unplug it to get it to awake. I have two Seagate external drives and have formatted them using Apple's Disk Utility. They have performed flawlessly here butc my idea of flawless is that I like for them to stay asleep once they go to sleep. That is, unless I click on one of their files to use it, or some software on my computer in finding a file does the opening for me.
If a double-click on the external drive's icon DOES wake it up, but the problem is that you're looking for an automatic wakeup when you wake up your main hard drive--so no double-click is necessary--then that might reflect a difference in your two different external drives' drivers.
The times my external hard drives have gone to sleep I've been grateful because, while they're all very quiet drives, they're not totally without sound... and the few times I've left one on during display sleep (like the other night all night for SuperDuper! to work), I've been happy to have the external drive stay asleep, even when touching the mouse to restart my iTunes' music (which I store nowadays on the main hard drive).
I don't really know, but I'm just guessing that if you can restart your Seagate external with a double-click and that drive is satisfactory in every other way, you might as well keep it. All my externals, including this Iomega, two Seagates, and an Acom, have operated the same way in every way that I noticed: they will come back from sleep with a double-click either on the external drives' icons or a click/computer call-up of one of its files.
If and assuming you can restart your external Seagate with a double-click on its icon I'm also thinking that your Seagate external's behavior might be normal and controlled by your OS X system, especially since for most situations most people might prefer that their external drive stay asleep when not actively being used.
Bottom line suggestions: If you can't restart your Seagate with a double-click, check the 500GB Buffalo HD again now with this exact system in this condition. If it works as you'd like, then the problem is likely either with the Seagate hard drive itself or, more likely, with its driver and formatting. Try reformatting the Seagate using Apple's Disk Utility to Mac OS Extended.
If you can't fix the Seagate problem by reformatting it, then you're probably in the market for a new external drive (or a Seagate replacement as you explain to the Seagate company exactly what's going on and what the warranty is). Before you do that, you might try reformatting and reinstalling your system.
Most people are traumatized to think of a reformat. But (with very good backups) I've done reformats. Reformatting is no big deal and can often save time overall when one thing after another is going wrong. A reformat/reinstall can sometimes save a pile of headaches.
If everything you try fails, then you have no other choice than to buy a new external. Maybe just a larger Buffalo drive this time around? (I admit I never heard of that brand, but if you were happy with your old one, a bigger one of the same brand makes sense.)
As I said, I don't really know what's going on with your computer/external drive. But you have my sympathy!
    Best wishes,
    Mary

  • Any business users depositing checks digitally?  What software are you using

I am using my Mac for a small buisness.  My bank wants me to digitally deposit checks.  My bank tells me the software only works with Windows.  Will I have to run dual op sys on my IMAC or is there another way? I am not technically savvy so am leary of loading the Windows operating system to my IMAC.  Thanks.

  • What graphics/photo editing software do you use with dreamweaver?

I just purchased Dreamweaver CS5 a few days ago.
I'm using the demo version of Fireworks CS5 and have played around a bit with the demo version of photoshop element 8.
I'm wondering if I would be able to do everything with photoshop CS5 that I'm able to do in Fireworks CS5 and photoshop elements.
Guess I could ask this question in the photoshop forum, but I really wanted to hear from developers and designers that use dreamweaver too.
What would you suggest to use for a graphics/photo editing program.
    Thanks,
    jp

Thanks for the input so far.
Here is my thinking. I have used free html editors for years. Mostly first page from http://www.evrsoft.com/.
Then I decided to try the demo of dreamweaver after reading about the new integrated CMS support.
After just a couple weeks of using dreamweaver I purchased it. I like dreamweaver much better then the free editors I have used over the years.
So onto graphics/photo editing software. I have also used simple and free photo editing programs over the years. I have decided to try and learn not only more code, but also try to gain some graphic skills.
Most of what I would be doing would be graphics for the web, but I also need some kind of photo editing tools.
So do I buy just fireworks CS5 and use it for not only graphics, but to also edit photos.
Do I purchase both Fireworks and photoshop elements 9 or should I spend a little more and go with photoshop CS5.
Is photoshop CS5 more stable then fireworks or photoshop elements?
I'm running windows 64 bit system with a i3 and 4 gig of ram with duel monitors.
    Thanks for your input.

  • B2B software package you use for AS2

    Hi All,
We are using Oracle 10G B2B. We are adding a new supplier. Our new supplier asks " what is your B2B software package you use for AS2"
I said " Application server integration B2B of version 10.1.2.3.0", then immediately he replied
"I could not find Oracle Application Server Integration B2B 10.1.2.3 listed on the Drummond Group website for AS2 interoperability certification. Would the software package be listed under another name?"
Could you please help us to reply his question..

    Hi,
Ask your supplier to check the AS2-3Q05 report of Drummond group. It is available at below link -

You can find Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) listed here. Also give him the refernce of below doc -

  • What application are you using for student collaboration?

The only part that is missing from iTunes University is real time student collaboration. What application are you using to bridge the gap? Thanks, Ed

Yeah, I'm not sure I know what you mean either.
Q:  If you're asking which server-side code to use on Windows IIs Servers?
A:  ASP or ASP.net and MSSql.  Since Microsoft built these languages, you would get the best support from MS Expression.
If you're asking for software that helps you write code, you'll need to be more specific about which code you want to write and for what purpose.

  • Looking for a drum loop app that will run in the background. What are you using?

Looking for a drum loop app that will run in the background. Suggestions? What are you using? I tried Loopseque and I like it, but I can't make it run once I switch apps. Help please.

That's definitely strange, kzmidge. I want a working phone in your hands though. I noticed you mentioned you received the suggestion to complete a reset. Did you already do that? Is it working again? Are you receiving an error message?
If you hesitated a little longer to complete the reset, you can try to place your phone into Safe Mode http://vz.to/rxg0ii and see if you can access mobile sites from your browser. This mode will stop 3rd party applications from running, so you won't be able to use the apps you mentioned but we may be able to narrow down the trouble in Safe Mode. If the mobile sites work, that means the trouble may be in a recently downloaded application and you may be able to avoid the reset my uninstalling some of your more recently installed applications. If it's still giving you trouble, the reset http://vz.to/18wzOCi is the next best step.

  • What are you using as a Flash replacement for 64-bit machines?

    Hi,
I was reading about the vulnerabilities in Adobe's Flash and decided to remove the offending package. I opened Chromium to make sure my Flash still worked, as I understood that Chromium implemented another method for rendering Flash stuff. I was wrong. For example, YouTube tells me that I need Flash 10 or higher. I tried to re-install the flashplugin package, but it is no longer in the repos.
I can live without Flash content, but it's nice to have.
So the question is, what are you using instead, that can be installed from the main repos?
    Many thanks,
    Chris.

I have installed both lightspark 0.4.3 and gnash 0.8.8, since lightspark should be able to 'fall back to gnash for older videos' (see changelog of lightspark).
I have tried some flash-websites in firefox and all of them seem to use gnash and there was 1 website that didn't load the content (www.deredactie.be - our national tvstation). So, I'm under the impression that lightspark is not used by firefox.
Has anyone found out how to do this?
Secondly, gnash should be able to use VA-API (hardware acceleration). Is it just a question to install libva and let gnash do the rest, or does one have to recompile gnash to build the support in?
    Zl.
PS: to whoever thinks flashplugin is the 'real flash': gnash has beaten it in terms of providing hardware acceleration. hooray for opensource!

  • What browser are you using with OS 9.x?

Would you all please state which internet browser you are using with OS 9.x and the strengths/weaknesses you are experiencing with it?
I switch back and forth between Mozilla and Internet Explorer but fewer and fewer websites work properly with them. If there is a better browser than those two I would add it to my old Wallstreet running 0S 9.1.
Again, what browser are you using with OS 9.x and what are its good/bad points?
    Thanks!

    (Almost forgot
I have an iCab filter set up for Yahoo on my OS 9.2.1 iMac.
For the URL string I use (asterisk)yahoo(asterisk)
For the Scripts filter I use the Netscape identity and have all versions checked except "JScript", and everything is checked in the "Allow" section.
For the Network filter I use the Firefox identity and have the HTTP "referer" set to "Always".
I don't use Yahoo Mail much on that machine, but those settings allow me to use the Address book to select addresses and send messages with attachments. (I'm not sure about viewing attachments, though, and I'm almost positive that address auto-complete doesn't work.)
    Cheers,

  • General Forum Question: What Contact Synch Method Are You Using?

This is a question directed towards all forums members using SynchManager to synchronize B2B customers between Web Tools and SAP Business One.
Of the four possible methods listed below:
    - WebTools UserID Field
    - Email Address
    - BusinessOne InternalCode
    - Seek and Choose
Which one are you using to synchronize your data?
We're trying to decide between Email Address, BusinessOne InternalCode, and Seek and Choose.

    Hi Micheal,
I can not tell you what people are using, but the pros and cons are as follows:
Webtools UserID (the exposed field on the BP contact)
This is the best option if you are willing to do the work of setting this property for all of you users in a meaningful way.
Pros:  Allows you assign a meaningful login name for users of the website
Cons:  You have to assign he userids (a lot of work if you have 10s of thousands of contacts)
    EmailAddress
Pros:  hopefully, everyone knows their email address.  So this is a meaningful login name.
Cons: B1 does not require email address, so the user will probably end up with an OCPR ID if they don't have an email address.
    B1 internal code
    Pros:  it always works
Cons: no wants to be a number.  Your login name will be "1234", password = "whydoIhavesuchahorriblelogin"
    Seek and Choose
I consider this the best option, unless you have a better algorithm to populate NPUserID than described below (let me know if you do )
The seek and choose routine works as follows:
    1.  if they have an NPUserID, user that
    2.  if they have an email address, user that
    3.  use the B1 internal code
Pros:  User will have the best possible login name.
Cons: You do not know which option the user ended up with
    One last note:
v630 (p10--or whatever we are calling it these days), has added a login name to the Webtools user.  This addresses the glaring problem of not being able to change login name.  Now the user can change their own login.  (why did this take 5 years?).  Hopefully, this will make this decision less daunting.

  • What Camera are you using?

    Hi,
What camera are you using for you shot?Let share about the Semi Pro cam together: Fix Lens with manual Focus and Zoom,Affortable Price...

Well, before I got my Digital Rebel XT I dreamed of the Powershot S2 IS. Then the S3 came out...but I was hookoed on my Rebel XT. I hear the S5 is a monster...
Now, my 20D is probably more prosumer. I wouldn't call it a pro camera, although it is legendary for it's use on the sports areana and weddings by pros. For my money, any camera with a pop-up flash and automatic modes is not a pro camera. Having said that, I hope no one starts throwing eggs and tomatoes!

  • BEST DVD TO IPOD SOFTWARE

Does anyone have an opinion on the best DVD to Ipod software to purchase? I've tried the trial versions of PQDVD, Xilisoft, and Cucusoft and have found problems and numerous differences with those. If there are any others out there please let me know that may be better/easier/higher quality, etc.. Also, I am trying to convert home movies that are on DVD-R's, it seems as though PQDVD can sometimes convert them, but they freeze up or don't show up at all on the others. A regular DVD was no problem on any of them. Thanks!

  • When converting dvds to ipod, how do you combine many video files into one?

Hello everyone! When i convert dvds to Ipod format (on windows using videora) the converter seperetly re-encodes severeal (about 4) .99 Gig files into smaller ipod videos. each file is about 30 minutes long, and i was wondering if all of them could be converted into one 2 hour movie file(star wars III if you're wondering). If there is a free way to do this (not quicktimePro)I would find that extreemly helpful.

As TSN has indicated we have no idea what program you are using, other than you posted in the Acrobat forum. In Acrobat you go to File > Create > Combine (varies with version of Acrobat). You can also open one and then use the pages>Insert to add the others.
