What exactly is "All" when handling webapp items in a collection?

In reference to this documentation - http://docs.businesscatalyst.com/dev-assets/reference#!/how-tos/liquid/listing-and-filtering.html and also when using collections, Does All mean All or does it only list 500 items at a time? Also, what is the difference in performance speed when say looping through a collection vs using categories to display specific items. I have had webapps that contained around 70,000 items before, so I was curious.

Hey mate,
First thing is with collections etc I do not think pagination, fetching etc has been finished 100%, not much documentation either and on objects I have seen info on that change.
I have a forum post about pagination and things like collections and the use cases (that or I emailed the BC guys)
Basically covering like what I know is going through your head... You have a collection, so how do you iterate through the other pages, what happens when you want to show just 5 and no data etc.
BC limit is for performance and server reasons of course which is fine, but as you indicated you may want to display more so making another request to fetch the next chunk with API. You can do that with module_data but one of the issues I have raised and I can see happening is that if some of this core stuff is not covered on the core modules - All the work to update BC modules would end up being a waste of time, because if things like this crop up you would just end up using module_data for nearly everything as the API's role out. Which of course is OTT.

In this mode, the content of the RF C822 e-mail matches the content of the XI message. The XI message is a multipart MIME message with a SOAP envelope as its first part. See also: Structure linkMessages, under XI Message Protocol.

    Hi there,
Please go thru the following links. I think they are self explanatory and does not need more elaboraion. These links expalin how the Signed Applet is loaded and how does the Class Loader and Code Verifier make it possible for the applet to work within it's security restriction.

  • Can someone explain what exactly is involved when it comes to Time Machine snapshots?

Can someone give me a brief and succint description and tutorial on how Time Machine snapshots work?
I use Time Machine (on Mac OS X obviously, ML 10.8.4) to backup my HD onto a separate external drive at least once a week.
However, like so many other users I'm online in a variety of places so most of the time (about 99%) my laptop isn't able to be connected to the external designated for HD backups and I've heard and read that the application Time Machine can use "snapshots" to create temporary backups to hold until you've connected your external the next time.
    I wonder how that works?
How do I go about setting up this snapshot option so that my laptop can be regularly backing up my files without me having to be tethered to the external at the same time?
Won't that fill up my entire drive due to virtual memory or sleepimage or swapfiles or something along those lines?
And last but certainly not least, how can the user take use of this option but also prevent the TM snapshots from hogging every availabe byte of memory.

    That's how it works.

Local snapshots are made automatically in portable Macs with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion. Simply disconnect the Time Machine drive from your Mac and your Mac will start making local snapshots.

These snapshots are stored in the hard drive and they consume a lot of space, as they are backing up the whole hard drive. A lot of users complain about the space they take, but in general, you don't have to worry. See below.

Local snpashots will be deleted automatically when the hard drive is full, so don't worry about it. If you want to remove them, simply open System Preferences > Time Machine, and turn it off. Leave it for some minutes or hours, and turn on Time Machine again, but there's no reason to do that

  • My rue la la app for ipad suddenly dosent work so I deleted it now when I try to reinstall it the app store says that it not available in the us. It is still on my Iphone and working properly. What is this all about?

My rue la la app for ipad stopped working. I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it,  it is no longer available in the app store and when I research it on safari and find it when i try to install it says that it is not available in the us store. What is that all about?

My app did the exact same thing. It is still unavailable on the App Store and when Rue La La's site directs you to download their app, the "not available in the U.S. message appears. This happened to me last night. The app wasn't working, I deleted it and was just going to reinstall but was unable to find the app. I figured it was some glitch but I have tried multiple times this afternoon to no avail.

  • What indexes are created when we check dimension as line item.

What indexes are created when we check dimension as line item.
and also What indexes are created when we check dimension as high cardinality.
Where can i see that information in the system.
    Answers are highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Kunal

    Hi,
Line item means it does not have any dimension table.
High Cardinality means that the dimension is to have a large number of instances (that is, a high cardinality). Also, it is very important to indentify the line item dimension properly. E.g. Sales Order number, this will have the exact number of entries as the fact table entries. Hence, this can be created as a line item dimension. If you are not sure of high cardinality never select that. Activate this function when the dimension has is at least 10%- 20% the size of the fact table (in terms of the number of records). <b>In this case, B tree indices are created instead of bitmap indices.</b>. By default it is BITMAP but with high cardinality it is B-Tree indexing.
    Hope this helps.

When checked, it means that you are going to apply whatever is in the box to all of the selected items.

  • This is for Exchange 2007 but can't find a place to post it. It may apply here I don't know. What exactly happens when you suspend LCR?

OK. I searched out here and found things close to what I need: how to suspend and restore LCR but I need another answer. I have gotten a new backup solution (Unitrends) and the Microsoft exchange write appears twice. I'm guessing one is for my first storage
group and one is for LCR. Anyway it appears the software is trying to use the replication writer which is causing my backups to fail. Here is my question: what EXACTLY happens when I suspend the LCR (Suspend Storage Group Copy)? Does this affect regular exchange/email
transport and receiving at all? Basically if I disable it will mail continue to flow as normal with no adverse affects? And what EXACTLY happens when I disable LCR. What if I decide I don't need it. Will disabling it affect normal email operations? Basically
will either of these options in ANY way interfere with normal mail flow? Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, suspending LCR doesn't affect the mail flow. If there is no need for LCR, you can disable LCR, and then please manually delete the LCR storage group and databaase fles.
For more information about LCR, please refer to
    Local Continuous Replication.

  • What exactly is happening/failing when "GPIB Interfaces sequentially verified" FAILS?

I have an AT-GPIB/TNT+ card installed in my computer. It fails the "GPIB Interfaces sequentially verified" portion of the Wizard program. I am able to communicate (IBIC) with my instruments, so it appears that all is working well. I do have older non-compliant GPIB interfaces so the "Scan for Instruments" does not work. What exactly is failing in the Wizard and what can I do? I have windows 95.0.

    Janet,
Typically when the installations fails the sequential verification, it is due to either a resource conflict or a device being connected to the board during the test. You can click on the failed interface to get a brief explination of what may have caused the error.
There are instances reported using the AT-GPIB/TNT+ board and Win 98 inwhich this error was reported even though there were no problems with the board's setup. Since you are communicating properly with the board through IBIC your board is functioning properly, and I would not be concerned with the error message.
As for your instrument, this is likely due to your instruments non-compliance to 488.2 standards. Whenever the Measurement & Automation Explorer does a "Scan for Instruments", it sends out the stri
ng "*idn?" (which is an IEEE 488.2 identification query string) to all of the devices on the bus. If you have older, non-IEEE 488.2 compliant instruments on your GPIB, then they will not recognize this string as a valid command. This will cause "Scan for Instruments" to fail.

  • When handling local files , should I call flush() at all?

When handling local files, I am confused by the flush() method.
A lot of tutorial pages say it's safer to call flush() before close(). After thinking for a while, I'm asking mysel: Does flush() applies only to buffered stream(right?)? If a stream is not buffered, program should not call flush(). For buffered stream, the corresponding close() method of the wrapper or stream class should invoke flush() method. If they don't , it's an implementation bug, which should be fixed. So for both buffered and unbuffered stream, no need to call flush() before close()(right?).
Then the question is: when do we need to call flush() method? If we don't need call flush() at all, why are there flush() methods in almost every stream/wrapper class?
Please let me know what is wrong, either me or something else.
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Gang

"The close method of FilterOutputStream calls its flush method, and then calls the close method of its underlying output stream." (Javadoc)
By inheritance this also applies to BufferedOutputStream and its descendants. However FileOutputStream does not extend FOS or BOS so it has nothing to flush(), so flushing it does nothing at any time even before closing.
In general flush() writes buffered bytes out of the JVM into the operating system. When you do have buffering, which in practice you should (e.g. new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(...))), you should flush at points when you really want to be rid of the data. When operating on sockets you should always flush before try to read the next data from the socket. You can flush more often if you like but it is often counter-productive.
