  • What exactly 'PAYLOAD' Means???

What exactly 'PAYLOAD' means.??? Please help me with simple examples and in context of BPM process.

    Hi
I hope the earlier links from Sudipto should give you an idea. In simple terms, in context to a BPEL or BPM Process, I would treat Payload as the Input data that each user/service in that Process will Work On. Means they want enter or modify that data.
Simple Example: Vacation Request BPM Process. As an Employee, I want to go on Vacation and this has to be approved say by 4 people above me (I am the lowest last employee in the company). They can either Approve or Reject. Approve will go forward, and Reject will go in back direction.
Me Employee -> Team Lead -> Project Manager -> Manager -> Supervisor.
The payload is simply the data or the information that each user sees. In this case its a Vacation Request, so the data will be like
    Vacation Start Date
    Vacation End Date:
    Reason For Vacation
    Emergency Contact.
We do need final response back from the superiors after final approval. And that can be like Approved or Rejected with Reasons.
Since this is a process, everything is a XML. And the Payload will look like this: You will define a .XSD Schema that produces a xml like shown below.
    <vacation>
    <vacation_request>
          <st_date></st_date> --- of type Date
          <end_date></end_date> --- of type Date
          <reason></reason> --- of type String
          <contact_phone></contact_phone> --- of type number
    </vacation_request>
    <vacation_response>
<outcome></outcome> --- of type string - Approve or Reject
<reason></reason> --- of type string - Reason why vacation request is rejected like there is a production deployment next week etc etc.
    </vacation_response>
</vacation>If you take a Ordering system, it will have lot of XSD elements like above to show product detail, line items, discounts, shipping address, credit card details etc etc.
I hope this should give you an idea.
    Thanks

  • Can you explain what exactly cdc mean in data services......?

    Hello!
I would like to know  what exactly change data capture (cdc) mean in data services......?

    Hi sudheer kore
CDC is basically a technical term - Change data capture. We use a few approaches to work capture changed data during ETL process. This can be called incremental approach/ delta loading of data.
    Source Based CDC
-Using a timestamp, date, datetime, or int column to uniquely identify the next "band" of rows to be loaded into the delta process in combination with a status table, global variable, and where clauses of the query transform. This is demonstrated in the Tutorial file provided with Data Services in the CDC chapter.
-Using the Database native CDC functionality, available in Oracle, SQL Server and I believe Attunity
Changes are replicated to change tables in the source, marked as insert/update/delete. Data Services can natively read these tables through the use of CDC Datastore objects and Map_CDC_Operation transform.
    Target Based CDC
-Must be used if the methods above are not available. The Table_Comparison transform is capable of comparing all source records to the target table to determine if an INSERT or UPDATE is required for that row.
Few links that would explain this better
Source Versus Target Based Change Data Capture

  • What Exactly deployments means in ODI?

What Exactly deployments meant in ODI? Do we have types of deployment? If yes what are the types of deployments?

I don't think there is a standardized description for an ODI deployment. Generally a deployment is just making something available for use. This could be as simple as compiling a Scenario and making the executable available to an end user. This could be in the same environment or a deployment into another environment. What I'm probably trying to say is that the term deployment in context specific and will mean different things in different contexts.

  • In RMA status check what does hang mean when it says it under test

what does hang mean in RMA status check? i went to check my RMA status and under testing it said hang. what does this mean?

In the "testing" column, it tells you the outcome of any daignostic tests they ran on your player. It usually says "not tested yet" for a day or so after the package arri'ves.
If it says "hang," they were able to turn your player on but it froze up almost immediately. If it's a software problem, they'll wipe the hard disk and reload a working copy of the firmware. If it's a hardware problem, they'll send you a new or refurbished player of the same model and capacity as yours.

  • DiskWarrior: "not enough contiguous space"? -What does this mean??

Having issues, cannot reboot, after software update. Grey screen + Apple comes up, but no wheel and no further booting.
I'm able to boot from the DW CD.
Hard drive capacity is 74.41GB/ available space 21.81GB.
Graph of hard drive shows 5% out of order.
I rebuilt the directory which shows NO changes to the number or contents of files and folders... BUT...
"There is not enough contiguous free space for a fail-safe replacement of the directory. It is highly recommended that you create 132 MB of contiguous free space before replacing the original directory."
So what does this mean? Contiguous free space on the hard drive or in RAM?
(The hd doesn't seem to make sense, since it shows over 21GB of available space.)
I've ordered a new 1GB RAM module which should arrive Friday, but should I install this when the computer won't even boot on its own?
Help! I'm stuck and don't know what to do next. I have no idea how to go about creating 132 MB of contiguous free space.

DW is telling you it needs 132MB of contiguous — i.e., unfragmented — hard drive space. Apparently you don't have it, because all your free hard drive space is fragmented into segments smaller than 132MB. With nearly 21GB of free space in all, that's very surprising. It suggests that the files using space on your drive must be much more fragmented than is common in OS X, which defragments most files automatically without any input from you.
Ideally, what you would do to defragment everything on your drive, including the free space, is clone that drive to an external hard drive, and then clone the external drive back onto the internal drive. The second step in that process would erase the internal drive and then write everything back to it in unfragmented form.
But to do that, you'd have to be able to start the Powerbook up from a source disk that contained a cloning utility and enabled you to use it. The simplest way of doing that would be to have an external drive divided into two partitions: one small partition with an OS and a cloning utility (and perhaps other disk utilities) installed on it, so you could start up from it, and another larger partition of a suitable size for cloning the internal drive to: i.e., about the same size as the internal drive, or at a minimum, 10% larger than the amount of space that's actually used on the internal drive. If you don't already have such an arrangement, you're in no position to create one now except by going out and buying an external Firewire hard drive.

  • What does "inkjet" mean/refer to?

Hello, I am wondering what exactly "inkjet" means/refers to.  I am shopping used printers and am just a rube in need of a little education.  Thank you.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi walkenhair,
I can help you with your inquiry. Some printers use an inkjet ink system, others use toner, these are laserjets.
I found a PDF document that discusses Inkjet VS. Laser. You may find this either very helpful, or very overwhelming and more than you were looking for!
I found a video on YouTube you can watch instead if you would like. It is only about 3-4 minutes long and is non bias. This gentleman speaks strictly about Laser and inkjet and makes no references to specific brands.
Ultimatly, to best answer your question in the most straightforward fashion, inkjet is liquid ink and toner is powder ink.
Personally, your best option is to speak with somebody in sales. Discuss with them what your needs are and see what they recommend. Some of the high end inkjet printers have all the same benefits of a laser and more. It all depends on the model.
I hope this is helpful and resolves your inquiry.

  • What do we mean my BDC compatible transaction ?

    Hi,
I have a doubt regarding BDC.
I am working on an enhnacement issue for a transaction code.
I have to use some formula and update the fields of the given transaction code.
After a long seacrh it seems that particular for that event trigger niether user exit or BADI is available.
My team lead suggested that in second approach we will try BDC.
We will see how compatible or feasible is given transaction for doing BDC and than we will use BDC for the updation of fields.
I was little bit confused. According to my knowledge BDC are used for data conversions only.
Can anyone let me know what exactly it means when he talks about using BDCs.
    Please help me out.
    Tanmay

I've given the answer in your other thread.
Using BDCs for this purpose is not a good idea.
It only means that you need to write a BDC for this Xn but before populating BDCDATA, you will get all the user data inputs through you own designed screens in the BDC program itself. Then you will use this data to derive a few fields.
Further users will have to use your BDC Xn in place of original Xn.
Another option, if any user exit is available at save, then you can call your BDC over there just to derive a few fields and save only those fields.
But for your case, characterstics value determination, that is possible through configuring dependency.
See your other thread. And get back, if you need further info.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi,
Sets a GUI (Graphical User Interface) status pfstat which can be up to 20 characters long. There are many of these statuses in the GUI of a program. Each one describes which functions are available and how you can select these via menus and menu bars or by pressing function keys or pushbuttons. For further information about this, refer to the Menu Painter documentation.
Each status has a name which may be up to 8 characters long.
Setting a status makes the functions contained therein selectable.
This method allows you to vary the available functions according to the current screen, list level and/or previous program flow.
The current status is stored in the system field SY-PFKEY.
A status remains valid for the duration of a transaction or until you set a new status.
    Note
You can use a namespace prefix with status names.
    Example
    Event in program:
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      SET PF-STATUS 'MAIN'.
      WRITE SY-PFKEY.
    AT USER-COMMAND.
      CASE SY-UCOMM.
        WHEN 'F001'.
          SET PF-STATUS '0001'.
          WRITE SY-PFKEY.
      ENDCASE.
Produces a list (contents MAIN) with a GUI framework which allows you to select functions assigned to the the status MAIN. If you choose the function code F001 (e.g. from the menu or by pressing a pushbutton), you trigger the event AT USER-COMMAND. This generates a secondary list (contents 0001) with a GUI framework which allows you to select functions assigned to the status 0001. On returning from the secondary list to the basic list the status MAIN is reactivated.
    Example
    PBO module:
    MODULE PBO_100 OUTPUT.
      SET PF-STATUS 'S001'.
    ENDMODULE.
Displays the screen 100 with a GUI framework which allows you to select functions assigned to the status S001.
    Note
If you want to set a status for a screen, you must do so during the PBO event. The system always searches for the status pfstat in the GUI of the main program of the current program group . (However, see also the addition OF PROGRAM progname.)
    Example
    PROGRAM PROGRAM1.
    PERFORM UP1 IN PROGRAM PROGRAM2.
    PROGRAM PROGRAM2.
    FORM UP1.
    SET PF-STATUS 'ABCD'
    ENDFORM:
The status ABCD of program PROGRAM1 is activated if PROGRAM1 is the program specified in the transaction definition.
    Notes
If no GUI is defined in the list processing (or it is deactivated with SET PF-STATUS SPACE), the system supplies a standard user interface.
This statement converts the contents of the field pfstat to type C. The converted value is used to search for the desired status. Since the conversion employs the standard conversion rules as for MOVE, you should use a field of type C for pfstat to avoid unwanted conversions. In this case, a field of type I with a value of 12 would give the key ' 12 '.
    Addition 1
    ... EXCLUDING f ... EXCLUDING itab
    Effect
Deactivates one or more of the status functions, so that they cannot be selected. Specify the appropriate function codes using one of the following:
a field f or a literal which contains a function code
an internal table itab which contains several function codes
This method allows you to modify the selectable functions of a status easily at runtime.
    Example
DATA: itab TYPE TABLE OF sy-ucomm.
    APPEND 'DELE' TO itab.
    APPEND 'PICK' TO itab.
    SET PF-STATUS 'STA3' EXCLUDING itab.
Sets the status STA3 which renders the functions with the function codes DELE and PICK inactive.
    Addition 2
    ... IMMEDIATELY
    Effect
List processing: The status becomes effective for the last list displayed and is not flagged for the next secondary list. In screen processing, this addition has no effect because every status becomes immediately effective anyway.
    Example
    Event in program:
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      SET PF-STATUS 'MAIN'.
      WRITE SY-PFKEY.
    AT USER-COMMAND.
      CASE SY-UCOMM.
        WHEN 'F002'.
          SET PF-STATUS '0002' IMMEDIATELY.
          EXIT.
      ENDCASE.
Selecting the function F002 in the basic list (contents MAIN, status MAIN) redisplays the basic list, but this time with the status 0002.
    Note
Without the addition ... IMMEDIATELY, the old status MAIN becomes active again.
    Addition 3
    ... OF PROGRAM progname
    Effect
The system does not look for the status pfstat in the GUI of the main program of the current program group, but in the program whose name is specified in the field progname.
    Note
Only use this addition if the status contains no dynamic texts.
Since the system searches for the texts in the program to which the status belongs (that is, in program progname) the calling program will not be able to fill the dynamic texts. External statuses containing dynamic texts should be assigned to a function group, and activated by a function module that both fills the dynamic text fields and sets the status.
    Example
    DATA PROGR LIKE SY-REPID.
    MOVE 'TESTPROG' TO PROG.
SET PF-STATUS 'ABCD' OF PROGRAM PROG.
The system activates the status ABCD of program TESTPROG.
    Note
You can use the OF PROGRAM addition in conjunction with the EXCLUDING itab and IMMEDIATLEY additions.
    Regards,
    PRitha.
