What exactly will I lose when I resync my iphone w/ another computer?

I currently have my iphone synched with my macbook. I want to sync it with my desktop since it has the same music currently on my macbook (and more) . I have a couple of apps, however, that I bought on itunes and that's currently on my macbook. Will I lose them when I resync with my imac? Also, will I lose my contacts?

All iTunes content on your phone will be erased, to be replaced with the content from the new computer. Regarding your contacts, make sure you don't sync to an empty application on your computer. Doing so will erase all contacts on your phone. Make sure there is at least one entry, this will generate a merge or replace prompt, select merge.

PDF loaded using ActiveX will not load when the executable is used on another computer

Hello,
I am fairly new to Labveiw and have created a CAN diagnostic tool which uses an ActiveX control to display the CAN Spec PDF on the front panel. This works absolutely fine and still works fine when I create and use an executable on the same computer. However, I need to use the application on multiple computers that do not have Labview installed, and therefore require the executable. I have tried placing a copy of the PDF in the "Volume" folder and recreating the .exe with that path, then placing it in the same location on another computer, but no luck. I am fairly certain it has to do with the static file path, set in the Main VI, since it refers to a static location that does not necessarily exist on the next computer. I need some way to get around this though, so that I can easily transfer the application from one computer to another. The code I am using is very simple; I just open Adobe Reader and the file during initialization then close the reference path (see attached picture). Any Ideas?

A solution that I have found to work well is to use the Project Directory node as a root path. In the development environment this node will always return the path to the directory containing the project that is calling it. In an executable, it returns the path to where the executable is located.
With that known starting point, I can put files like that pdf in either the same directory as the project/executable or a subdirectory of that location and I can always find it.
When creating a build spec you can include non-LV files and specify destinations for them. Likewise, the installer will then put these files where they belong during the installation.

Will I lose my apps if I sync with another computer

Hi,
I am wondering something. I want to install OS 3.0 however my ipod is synched with a friends computer who is now long gone. I therefore have to sync it with another computer so I can then instal OS 3.0. Does this mean I will loose all my apps or will I be able to download them for free (as I've paid already) when I sync to another computer?
Also I just bought OS 3.0 but couldn't install as I am not on the computer I sync with. Does this mean I'll have to buy it again? it seems really dumb if that were the case.

The apps that you downloaded on your friends computer, did you download and pay for them using your iTunes account or his?
If you used his iTunes account, then those apps belong to him and cannot be transferred to your account.
If you used your own iTunes account, then you can download them apps again on your computer for free, as long as you are logged into your own iTunes account.

What data will I lose when I sync to new computer?

I got a new laptop. Old one died, couldn't save anything off of it. I installed iTunes on the new laptop, turned off auto sync, plugged in my iPod touch 4th gen and did a backup. If I recall correctly, everything on my ipod came from iTunes Store. Before I sync it i just want to be ABSOLUTELY certain, that I won't lose any of my data in my calandar and other apps. I've got lots of important stuff I don't want to lose. Can anyone tell me what I'll lose, if anything?

What's the easiest way to migrate your synced iPhone to another computer?

My unreliable 2006 20" white iMac seems as though it's about to kick the bucket.
I've used it to set up/sync/backup an original and a 3G iPhone, but for a long time it's had worsening graphical glitches/freezes requiring a reboot. It's getting to the stage that I can't do anything after logging in anymore.
I don't sync that often, but now need to make the iTunes library on my MacPro or Macbook the sync library.
Any tips on how to migrate from one machine to another are welcome.
Is it just a case of connecting to the new itunes libarry and following instructions (all my media is safely stored on external drives so moving that from one machine to another isn't an issue)?

Good suggestion, but I'm currently having trouble doing anything on the iMac - once I've logged in all apps seem to hang within seconds.
Both are currently on the local network so it would be great if this worked, but can I do it using Target mode via Firewire instead?

Syncing your iPhone with iTunes on another computer will not erase all data on your iPhone. SMS/MMS will not be touched, photos/video in your iPhone's Camera Roll, the same for notes, email accounts, and iPhone settings.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced or manually managed with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided indicating this will happen.
You can sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers.

more than likely they will never know the text did not go through. If the number was assigned to someone else they will get your text message. I did this last week and the person texted me back asking who I was. I responded and apologized and they said no problem.

That's almost always because the phone was jailbroken r hacked to unlock it.
Discussing jailbroken / hacked phones is forbidden by the terms of service. You'll have to find an answer elsewhere or buy a new phone.

Have you checked that the document is using the exact same font on both machines? If the second machine doesn't have the font installed that's used in the original document on the first machine, Word will pick the closest matching font, and that may
display slightly differently.

What do you mean it won't let you? What exactly does it say? (Sorry to sound so exasperated but this is like the 6th post in a row where people have made vague statements which do little to help us find solutions without a game of 20 questions.) I'm going to guess and say you can only deauthorize a computer to which you have physical access or VPN login. The alternative is to deauthorize all which you can only do once a year.

Standard computer operating procedure: You NEVER update software unless ALL of your data is backed up & fully accessible. The iPhone is in essence a mini computer. Things can & do go wrong, even when they're not supposed to. So, if you don't know every password for every email account you have, you need to determine this info BEFORE you do anything.
It's your choice, but don't complain if things go wrong & you're left with your thumb up you know what.

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.

I would first try unplugging All the USB devices plugged into your computer, and then plug back in just the iPhone and see if that is recognized. Also, do you have the latest version of iTunes for Windows installed on your PC, as you need to?
