What features do you need in a LabVIEW build tool?

When developing LabVIEW applications, libraries, and components often ones needs many more features than the Application Builder provides. For example:
* excluding certain directories from the build
* defining custom destinations for specific source directories
* optionally convert destination folders to LLBs (or EXEs)
* adding a Namespace suffix so that all VIs in the built application have globally unique names.
I have created a tool called the Development Environment Application Builder that addresses many of these problems. I am looking for feedback and suggestions from other LabVIEW developers. I want to
know what features you need in a LabVIEW build tool.
I have started a discussion for this topic here.
You can get more info and download this project here.

All you can do is turn off the phone.  SMS text messages are sent on the same network as voice calls - there is no way around that.  You cannot change how they are routed.
iMessgae, will use a wifi connection, when available, but otherwise your text messages will be sent and received over the cellular network.

Depends on which MacBook Pro you have and what kind of TV you have.
If you're MacBook Pro is 2010 or 2010, and your TV has an HDMI input, then get this adapter.  It should be easy.

What peripherals do you need to turn your iPhone into a conference room speakerphone system?
If you buy a separate conference mic and a speaker, can they somehow work together off the iPhone headphone jack like a huge set of group earphones?  What if you want to connect 2 mics and a speaker?
Do you have to be very careful that they can all be attached somehow at the same time?
Are there reasonably priced conference room speakerphone peripherals the work well together that you would recommend?

Why don't you contact Apple and find out?  Certainly if you can find your way around the internet to have been able to find this forum, you can certainly find the number for AppleCare.

What model do you need to be able to use a charge scanner when their is no wi-fi available

Ohh, you mean credit card scanner?
That would be up to whicher scanner you choose.  The manufacturer would determine which iPad or iPhone versions or IOS versions their device supports.
The Square scanner from the Apple Online store only needs iOS 5. So pretty much any model of iPad should support it.
    System Requirements
    iOS 5.0 or later

iWeb is not working for sending podcasts to iTunes, so I need a new web building tool. What is the closest thing to iWeb that I can use, which also supports podcasts?

There's no reason you can't go on using iWeb for this - with iWeb '08 you have to publish to a local folder (i.e. on your Mac) and then upload the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) to your hosting service: and you have to make sure you enter the new URL in the Publish information or the feed won't work properly; this done, an iWeb podcast should work fine.
Of course there is still the problem that iWeb is not supported and sooner or later a system upgrade may break it. You could look at RapidWeaver: you can make podcasts with that, though the last time I looked into that - which was admittedly some time back - I didn't feel it was ideal for this. There are lots of other podcast creation programs or services around. WordPress is OK but it may be a bit of a steep learning curve: Libsyn is an online service that seems to work reliably. Blogger writes messy feeds but does usually work. Podcast Maker used to work well - I used it myself a few years back - but it rather looks as if it's gone moribund and it may not be reliable with Lion/Mountain Lion, so you would want to check into that.

yeah. DJ is right.... all my sounds are converted to 5.1.
    even if thay are stereo.
    like wav's.
    MP3's
    AIM, MSN, sounds
    play out all 6 speakers
    From what i know, not.
The Prologic comes from your decoder on the other side of the SPDIF. Mine has 2 different settings for prologic and DD and does not switch automatically.
As for MP3, it only works with the good winamp plugin.
Do a very simple verification: Take winamp, use waveout plugin, play an mp3 and look at the sndstorm panel.
You'l see that on the equalizer only the front speakers are moving (plus the sub and center if you have checked the "create center" and "create LFE" in the speaker setup). The fact that they react to the created channels but not on the rear proves that your sound DOES *NOT* come from the APU, but from your receiver.

  • OT: What viewers do you need to use ALL audio and video files?

I had a lot of trouble with audio and video files on my PC. I
    now have a
MacBook Pro, which is a big improvement. But I still
    frequently
encounter files that I can't use. I try to open them, but
    Apple doesn't
know what to do with them. For example, I often encounter
    unusable
videos while perusing news websites. I also have some audio
    files with
.mva or .mvw extensions that don't work.
So what viwers/players do I need to download in order to be
    able to play
every audio/video file that comes my way? iTunes handles .mp3
    files, and
I also have QuickTime installed. I just viewed another video
    after I
installed a Flash plugin. What else do I need to install?
    Thanks.

  • What information do you need ready for engineer?

Is there information I need ready for the engineer to make the install go quicker and more smoothly?
(other than a print out of the email)
Will it always be setup will all the default names and passwords or do I need a name for the wireless, password etc ready?
I've heared it's not a good idea to name keep the defaults or choose a name for your wireless network that identifies the house it's from.
Also are there any hardware/wiring decisions that need making?

Are you already using the home hub ? if so then you don't really need to do anything as the engineer installs a modem that will connect to it. He'll change the faceplate on your master socket - that's the one where the line comes into your property. then he runs some tests and drinks the cup of tea you made for him.
If you're not already using the hub  - set it up before the visit (I think they'll send it to you a couple of days prior to the visit) . It comes with a handy pull out with the ID and password. And if you want, you can change these after you've got it working - you access it via your computer. If you change it then don't set it to anything that's easy to guess or identifies you or your address - good practice to keep it obscure and private!
    so 'James1' = bad,
'T48FgC+C9#' = good (but make up your own obviously)
with regards wiring you just need to think about where you need the modem and router to be (both need power) and whether you are wireless or wired - that's kind of up to you and how you like things done. If it help : both my bits are by the front door of a semi detached - imac is upstairs and wireless and laptop is in sons room also wireless, PS3 in back room also wireless - no issues at all in connection nor speed. I do sometimes use powerlines for the PS3
I think the engineer will run an extention cable for you if needed but no drilling/fixing etc... I'm guessing a bit on that and maybe someone else can advise.

  • What Features Would YOU Like To See Added To Encore?

I'm a relative newbie to DVD authoring, though I've completed hundreds of successful Projects. I also have used few other authoring programs, before Encore. I'd be interested in hearing what others would like to see added to Encore. This is kinda' like your "Feature Request," but it's really only for my interest and edification, as I cannot imagine Adobe reading the Lounge forum.
To date, every thing that I have wanted to do has been accomplished by either reading this forum, a couple of books or asking specific questions, and then using various workarounds. Maybe I have not set my DVD authoring sights high enough. That's why I'm posing my question to you. I also hope to get ideas for neat "things," that I never even have thought about.
    Thanks,
    Hunt

A real coaching app would be much appreciated.  All the one alread offered does the samething... designing drills.

  • What features would you like to see in a Java Decompiler?

    Hello all,
(I'm assuming if you're viewing this thread you use(d) a decompiler for development purposes).
I'm just about to embark on my final year dissertation for university and I am going to develop a Java decompiler.
I have researched existing decompilers, e.g. Mocha, DeJaVu etc and have come up with my own feature set, but I was wondering what other Java developers would like to see in a decompiler. e.g. Support for Generics (and other v.5 features)
So please let me know of anything you would like to see in a decompiler; possible IDEs to plug into, GUI, backwards compatibility, possible plugins, J2EE support, anything at all...
    Thank you for your time.
    Cheers, joe

Support for DICOM SR, DICOM SEG, and Annotation and Image Markup (AIM) as output formats for the segmentation and reports would be helpful.
It would also be great to see support for native DICOM files as input rather than needing to convert to one of the other formats you currently accept.

  • What documentation do you need?

    Hello all,
I'm a technical writer without programming experience (although I am interested). I've been asked by my former employer to write a user guide for their new Web Service. I previously wrote an API guide for them, but the world of Web serivces is new to me.
As I educate myself, I'm trying to understand precisely what information programmers like yourselves need when you sit down to integrate your business application to Web services. A quick search through usenet and forums like these tells me that many of you hate bad or incomplete documentation, so I'm eager to hear what type of information you really need to work with Web services.
Some background if it helps: My customer is providing their services through SOAP, secured using HTTPS. WSDL files will be used to generate client-side stubs. Java or Microsoft.NET can be used. The only documentation that exists thus far is a list of service descriptions (Method, Type, Parameter, and a brief Description for each).
Thanks in advance for your help.

I always like examples. You should work with their engineers and provide examples of the core use cases.

  • Aaaand I just discovered Snippets ಠ__ಠ... What features did you wish you had come across earlier?

Naturally you learn new tricks and techniques along the road but sometimes you bump into things that are obvious for many but for some reason you never learned about. Today, for me, it was the Snippet "screenshot". Oh that's what those special screenshots were the whole time. And what was that? You can even drag them into the block diagram you say? You have got to be kid...oh most evidently you can!
Any similar embarrasing and/or glorious moments to share?

Well look at that! So... Are you saying I don't get to do this anymore ?
Even a resized "index array" would be overkill. Here's equivalent code.
