Really. Anyone who says that they received GPS information are either 1) mistaken, thinking that because their system reported a location via their WiFi connection that they had GPS or 2) had an external GPS receiver.

Why 2nd generation ipod touch not allowed to update its OS to IOS 5 or later? This limitation made that IPod more or less useless as updated apps cannot be installed.
Be sure to backup your current apps. They can not be downloaded again, Earlier iOS apps are becoming increasingly difficult to find. You may want to look at VintApps, new in the Apple app store, that makes this much easier.

i have an ipod touch. previously when i did not update it it used to download skype and kik messenger but now when i have updated it it wont download any od them. i have 4.2.1 software at the moment. im really confused, what might be the problem here?
Many developers when they updated their apps fro the newer iOSs dropped support for the older iOSs. That included Skype and other developers. Unless you have a copy of the apps version that was compatible with your iPod/iOS you are out of luck. Do you cave such a copy in a computer file backup??

im looking at getting a new pda, but i like the idea of having an ipod touch too. does the touch have a planner/calendar/organizer? is it comparable to a pda's? one of the pdas that im looking at has wifi so that is not a deal maker.

I think the problem is that you need to be more specific about what you're looking for. I think "organizer" is too vague. I suspect that if you ask any two people about whether it has an organizer, they'd give you different answers. If you could be more specific about the features you're looking for, someone is more likely to be to able tell you if it has them.
The iPod Touch has a calendar. It has an address book for contacts. There's an email program for when you connect to wi-fi. There's an app for taking notes. To me, that makes it an organizer, but how do I know that meets your criteria?
Also, look at the App store in iTunes. You can look for organizer apps there and see if any of those fit your needs. Then you'd know for sure that there's an organizer app for you.
