What features from previous versions are not available in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?
A handful of features from previous versions are not available in Photoshop Elements 12 due to new product support for 64-bit systems.
Below, we list the features and the easy alternatives available to you in version 12:
The Magic Extractor ToolAlternative: Use the Quick select tool together with the Refine Edge tool to quickly select and extract anything from your photos.
    Texture Fill
Alternative: Use the Edit > Fill Layer option and select the "Pattern" option for Contents. You would have to pre load the pattern file with the texture you want.
Here is a tutorial on how to create a pattern file: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/creating-custom-pattern-in-photoshop/
Frame from video (imports a frame from video in PremiereElements)Alternative: Use the freeze-frame feature in Premiere Elements to capture a frame in video and save it as a photo
Interactive layout mode in Photomerge PanoramaAlternative: None
Photoshop ShowcaseAlternative: Try Adobe Revel. Elements 12 will let you view and share your Elements photos and videos across smartphones, tablets, and the web, via Adobe Revel.
Enhance>Adjust Color>Color VariationsAlternative: None specifically, but you can use Auto Smart Tone
    Filter>Render>Lighting EffectsAlternative: None

You won't have the FaceTime app on it, and you won't be able to install it. And if anything goes wrong with the iPad then you may only be able to get it repaired/replaced under warranty the UAE

  • What we will have to do with iWeb hosting?

I have build my web page, quite complicated and sofisticated, with iweb, it is hosted in idisk and redirected to a server, but I am very worried now because after some months apple will not support anymore iweb. What I will have to do? I am very confused.

The following is to reinforce Ethomid's statement about iWeb still being usable after MobileMe is gone:
It's now confirmed that iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
NOTE: the iLife 11 boxed version Is no longer available at the online Apple Store.  To get a copy you'll have to try Amazon.com or eBay.com.

  • What's the minimum version of jDeveloper supported to work with CRMOD?

    Subject says it all
    Thank you!
    Alvaro

    Hello Alvaro,
As far as I am aware there is no minimum version of JDeveloper for working with CRM On Demand. As long as you have a tool to compile proxy classes from the WSDL files provided you should be able to develop an application which integrates with CRMOD.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Should I trade my Palm Treo for an iPhone (what features will I lose)?

I have a Palm Treo and am thinking of switching to an iPhone but am worried about certain features that I will lose by making this move.
Can anyone let me know if these features that I will lose are correct, if they are a big deal and if there are any other featueres I am missing:
    -No cut and paste ability
-No notes/memos and tasks synching with Outlook (is this correct)?
-Much harder to use keyboard on the iPhone
-Problems with synching with Outlook compared to the more reliable Treo (is this true)?
-No video camera on the iPhone (is this true)?
    Thanks for any information.

Despite the features the iPhone lacks, as you have listed, it is well worth the upgrade because of the features it excels in. It blows the Treo out of the water! I have owned a couple of Treo's and the capability of the unit is limited. The internet and the ability to search and obtain information is limitless on the iPhone. For one the video quality that you would get from the Treo is garbage and you can't do anything with it but view it on the worthless unit. Cut and paste is a useful option but there is ways to work around the ability. There are many app's that are not only fun but very useful. From networking to file transferring and of course gaming to pass time. I am obviously bias to the question at hand and the only true answer you will find is to search the discussions, support, iTunes and almost all of the other resources and support that Treo does not offer.

  • What features will future iPhone HW include?

I wonder if Apple publish their roadmap for future HW capabilities.
Personally, I'm interested in barometer and wind speed meter (Pitot tube). A sensitive, accurate, fast one.
I believe it opens a vast playground for existing applications as well as for numerous new ones.
Clearly, knowing what the HW setting would be in advance makes it easy for developers to release applications that make use of the new HW shortly after the HW release.
Another option, though less desired, is self development of the HW and interfacing the iPhone (or any other platform) via its ports. For this case my question is where can I find the technical spec of the iPhone ports? Is it available anywhere?
    Thanks,
    Tzur.

they do not EVER - they guard their future technologies closely.

You sign up to be a developer with Apple - see the Developer forums or download the SDK. Apple is very strict about what can b done with the Dock port so depending upon what you discover, you may have to accept that it won't work. I have no idea though what can be done with the port.
You are welcome - we are all just Users here so would not be able to help you much, if at all.

  • Does anybody know what features of PS CC will fail on OS 10.6.8?

I need the public help because the Adobe support expert DIDN'T know.
When I called them to get support for an issue, I asked him please to tell me whether my issue IS or MIGHT be caused by the OS version (that was his GUESS), because I don't want to go on the mission of updating the OS and making my computer 200% slower and break Apache or something else I managed to optimize with command-line commands I don't even understand, and he re-answered three times "this PS version was not designed for that OS", so from that I extract these facts:
    1) There is NO support for using PS CC in OS below 10.7.x
    2) He didn't want to admit it, because he limited his words to the same statement.
    3) There is NO list of unsupported features.
    4) I have to update the OS to figure out and let other users know whether my issue is fixed or not with an update.
Currently, I can't render video from Photoshop other than to a "file sequence". The option that would allow me to select "movie" or "Mpg4", which is "media encoder" is always grayed out.
Does anyone know what features will break under OS 10.6.8?
    Thanks.
PS: I guess after confirming I have the right OS, there is probably a few more questions to filter most users that don't meet the optimal conditions, so limiting the users they actually support to a few.
—Do you use third-party memory? —  Errrrr!
—Do you use anti-virus? — Errrr!
WTF? The "render video" was WORKING FINE in previous versions. This is NOT a feature that is so hot that only new OSs can handle it so you have to update or forget about it. The feature should use the old method if my OS is not the newest. This just looks like features taken out for us to buy/update to the hotest stuff, or less-than-poor I'd say ANTI-backwards compatibility.

Hello, it seems that support is not aware of this blog post: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2013/06/updatingupgrading-to-photoshop-cc-faq.html#video
Adobe decided to limit to Lion, each operating system they support means more quality assurance.
The APIs they used for video is not supported in Snow Leopard (I upgraded just for that)
Adding another one means more quality assurance, tests, detrimental to the new features.
If you are a creative cloud subscriber you can also install Photoshop CS6 that has a video module compatible with 10.6.8

  • 5.3.1 is the final version that will support...

    Hello -
I am very upset to discover that Cisco will no longer be supporting new software releases beyond 5.3.1 on the hardware that is widely deployed in my environment, including the core which is a pair of 7371 at 2 datacenter locations. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Why would the WAVE-574/674 that just came out maybe 4-5 years ago not support anything beyond 5.3.1? What about version 6 coming out next year? What does this say about the future for WAAS?
Cisco WAAS, Release 5.3.1 is the final version that will support the WAE-674, WAE-7341, WAE-7371, WAVE-274, WAVE-474, and WAVE-574 platforms.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v531/release/notes/ws531xrn.html#wp63349
The last day of hardware support is not until August 31, 2017. So am I supposed to be stuck on 5.3.1 for the next 4 years and not take advantage of any new feature sets in the upcoming major releases? It's not like the WAVE series doesn't have enough CPU/memory to handle thew newer versions. I know the 7371 comes with plenty of juice to be able to support any new features you throw at it.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/contnetw/ps5680/ps6474/eol_c51-700260.html

The WAE 274/474/574/674/7341/7371 all reached End of Sale in August 2012. WAAS release 5.3.x is the final release which will support these now end of sale platforms.  The announcement for WAAS release 5.3.x in the release notes as being the final release supporting these now end of sale platforms is to assist customers in proper migration and software upgrade planning.
Cisco has provided major feature functionality well after the end of sale for the WAE 274/474/574/674/7341/7371 in August 2012, for example WAAS release 5.1 in December 2012 and release 5.2 in June 2013 were released well after the end of sale and provided new major features and functionality for the now end of sale WAE 274/474/574/674/7341/ 7371.
These end of sale platforms will continue to be supported in the WAAS release 5.3.x maintenance release-train cycle which will continue with software maintenance releases in accordance with standard Cisco policy for software end of sale.   Software maintenance releases will continue in the WAAS release 5.3.x until the end of sale for WAAS release 5.3.x is announced and the end of sale milestone is reached at a later date and the now end of sale platforms will continue to be supported with release 5.3.x as needed.
This is NOT an announcement of stopping support for these now end of sale platforms and these platforms will continue to be supported in release 5.3.x.  At a later date the end of sale/support for release 5.3.x will be considered/announced and after the first year after the end of sale for release 5.3.x we will provide bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds or patches for a period of 4 years in accordance with standard Cisco end of sale policy.
