What file types can be previewed?

Clearly I am able to preview PDFs in Bridge. However, can I preview RTF files? .webarchive files?
Thanks.

Robin, I use Microsoft Expression Media as my all-around file browser. It handles both RTF and webarchive (.war) files, and many more. Link:

    3) any byte array, for example .pdf or .zip
Thanks for any help, I've spent some 4 hours trying to find a definite answer but no result.

  • What file type needed to add behavior?

I have a logo created in Photoshop (I have the illustrator file as well), and I'm trying to animate it in Motion. However, when I add a behavior to the PSD file, nothing happens. What file types can be animated using behaviors in Motion?
    Katie
PS-I know I could animate it using keyframes, but I'm looking to use the behaviors.

Euro spelling. It's the only thing people find interesting about Canadians.
No reason you can't put a Spin on a psd. Make sure you've assigned a spin rate to it. Look in the Inspector, click the BehavioUrs tab, and dial in a spin rate. See if that works. For Wriggle, make sure you apply to Properties (X,Y,Z, or combo of).

  • What file type and codec should I use for creating a file to send to have an HDCAM copy made

I'm prepping to take a video file of my film into a tape dubbing house to have an HDCAM copy of my project made. I'm using a PC, so Apple ProRes is not an option. What file type, codec, and settings do you recommend?
I was considering MXF, but the highest quality codec is XDCAM 50, which only does up to 50Mbps (I think). I believe HDCAM works at 140Mbps, so I would rather not give them a file that's compressed to almost 1/3rd that, especially since the source is a 5K 5120x2560 project. DPX maybe? I've never exported DPX before because it's not an option on my copy of CS6 - maybe that has to be downloaded separately? I was considering a Quicktim in H.264 at 140Mbps, but I think that would mean some serious rendering for the tape house. I would like to be able to offer them a few different options and see what they prefer, but this is an area where my knowledge runs thin. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm hoping there's an industry standard that I can stick to.

Your CS6 'Format' dropdown list should include DPX:
Among the options you listed, DPX would be my choice.
Be certain the dupe house can accept these files before proceeding.

How do one can upload a file (a PDF, doc etc) while filling a web form through chrome or safari? It is possible to upload a photo from the camera role, but other file types can not be uploaded.

For a variety of reasons, mostly related to security, the iOS operating system limits what can be done with respect to file uploading and downloading. But whenever you encounter a limitation like this always think, "There must be an app for this."
Check the apps James Ward suggests.

  • What file types iPhone support in emails?

Every time I get an email with a pic my iPhone says message is blank so it does not recognize the pic file. What file type does the pix need be ?

    clarkkent26,
It is on page 51 of the User's Guide (July 16, 2008 revision):
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
iPhone displays most picture attachments (JPEG, GIF, and TIFF) inline with the text
in email messages. iPhone can play many audio attachments (such as MP3, AAC,
WAV, and AIFF). You can download and view files (such as PDF, webpage, text, Pages,
Keynote, Numbers, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents) attached to
    messages you receive.
What format are the pictures you are receiving in?
Have you tapped them to download in case they were too large to automatically download over your current connection?
    Thank you,
    Nathan C.

  • What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?

What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?
I writed to Panasonic Italy support about this question:
"What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?"
Panasonic writed me in a very poor manner and said me:
"...riproduce formati: AVCHD (anche 3D), SD-Video, DivXHD, JPEG, MP3, AAC tramite USB e Slot SD/SDHC/SDXC card..."
"...formato : AVCHD estensione file nella SD: .MTS..."
I made a few videos edited with PremiereProCS5 and exported as H.264 Coding and .mp4 file extension, all side by side, with layout 1920x1080pixels that includes two stretched frames at 960x1080 pixels.
This is the same image layout that uses the Panasonic 3D consumer camcorder "HDC-SDT750", that record AVCHD videos with file extension .MTS.
I also tried to export another video as MPEG2 with .mpg file extension.
But at the store the tests failed, and I cannot see anything!
    My questions are:
    1) What format can be used by PremiereProCS5 for exporting the Stereoscopic 3D videoclip and play them via USB port on Panasonic TVPlasma3D such "TX-P46VT20"?
    2) What codec should be used? H.264? H.264-bluray?
    3) What file extension should have the movie file? .mp4?
    Many Thanks!
    Horsepower0171.

-I already read entirely those threads, but nothing about stereoscopic 3D AVCHD movies through USB port, on Panasonic TVPlasma3D.
(Also, Sony said me that is not possible to play 3D videos on your 3DTV through USB port).
I tried to made a H.264 videoclip, with .MP4 extension, at 960x1080p side-by-side layout, but nothing was displayed, and black screen.
I think that just the AVCHD movies, with .MTS extension, that comes from Panasonic consumer camcorder "HDC-SDT750", can play the 3D videos via HDMI cable, not USB port.
But not the exported videos from PremierePro via USB port.
I seen this tutorial from David K Helmly:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/dhelmly#p/a/u/1/_YtF0c2bmkw
Dave export the video from PremiereProCS5 as "MPEG2-bluray" format with "Match Source Attributes (HighQuality)" Preset, and build the Bluray Disc in EncoreCS5, with the footage as MPEG2 with .m2v file extension:
    1) Anyone tried to play correctly in 3D, those MPEG2-.m2v side-by-side files, in Panasonic3DTV, with BlurayDiscReader?
    2) Why MPEG2.m2v side-by-side?
    3) The official standard stereoscopic 3D format, is not the .MVC (MultiViewCoding) for Bluray3D Disc?
    I am confused!
    Help!

  • HANA auditing, what file types get created?

    Hello,
I've read through the blog 'SAP HANA audit trail, best practice' by  Frank Buchholz to create audit policies in HANA. Great blog and really appreciate sharing his experience. I've also worked with my hosting team to make audit configuration changes.
They've now asked me to check to see that the policies I've setup are creating records, and they've given me the path to check. The problem I have is I don't know what to look for. What file types are created in the OS SYSLOG by the audit policies? Would the files have the same name as the policies themselves? (self auditing, user SYSTEM, technical users, etc..) Does anyone have a sample with a screenshot to share?
    Thanks for the help.
    Cheers, Paul

This web site may be a good place to start:

There are other places that you may search on the Internet that may help close the gap.
    Ciao.

  • What file type is the video that comes with the ipad? Is there a way to transcdibe the audio from a 90 minute interview I just recorded?

What file type is the video that comes with the ipad? Is there a way to transcdibe the audio from a 90 minute interview I just recorded?

    Thank you Menneisyys.
By transcription I mean being able to take what was said in the interview and have those words converted into written text. So I think your second option's a bit closer to what I was looking for.
The inelegant solution would be to buy Dragon Naturally Speaking software, load it up on another computer, stand my i-pad next to it, and have the words transcribed that way - an analog approach, as it were.
O course, I could just spend the next several hours tying up the interview, which is something I kinda hope to avoid.
    Thanks again - Jim

  • What is the largest MMC and SD card that the Acer C710 can use, and what file formats can be used?

What is the largest MMC and SD card that the Acer C710 can read from and write to when inserted into the built-in 2-in-1 card reader? What file formats can be used with aforementioned MMC and SD cards?i.e. FAT, FAT 32, exFAT, etc.

Thank you for you help. I forgot to mention what is the highest class of SD card it can use at top speed, and are there any classes that will simply not work? An example answer would be, the highest speed that it can operate at clase 6, with class 8 being the highest class compatible; class 10 will not work. Also note, there are new cards faster than class 10. I have seen symbols like U1 and U3. I don't expect a discount computer to run an SD card faster than class 10, but it is important to know if U1 and U3 at least work.

  • What music files types can you add to itunes?

I download alot of different music files types.  I just want to know what music files I can add to itunes.

    John Lockwood wrote:
Apple Lossless works on the majority of the worlds portable music players which of course are Apple devices
Apple Lossless works not only in iTunes on both Mac and Windows but also can work in dbPowerAmp, WinAmp, Foobar2000, VLC, XBMC aka. Kodi, and even Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center. (Yes I am aware FLAC also works in all of those except iTunes.)
Apple Lossless is free open-source code like FLAC, but arguably less likely to be subject to a random Patent Troll attack as it is backed by the might of Apple's lawyers.
Apple Lossless is identical quality to FLAC.
You can of course convert between FLAC and Apple Lossless and back again with zero loss of quality.
My point with all of the above, is that there is no need to be so hung up about FLAC anymore.
(Full disclosure for our readers:  My colleague John and I have this same conversation every once in a while.)
John - You are exaggerating the degree to which ALAC is accepted outside of Apple.
Although Winamp and WMP can be modified to play ALAC, the normal unhacked versions that most of us have cannot.
Yes of course you can convert between ALAC and FLAC with no loss of quality.  That is what lossless means.
In lossless music retailing, FLAC is very common.  ALAC is rarely seen.  Even Apple's own iTunes Store does not sell songs in ALAC format.

  • What file format can import?

imovie version is 7.1. I downloaded some clips from my cell phone onto hard drive and they show up as quick time files, play without difficulty on quicktime player. However, imovie won't import them, says they are not compatible. ?What file formats are compatible? ?Why would apple put quicktime and imovie on my hard drive, but not have them able to use same file type?
If it is important to know, I imported the files from my cell phone's card; I don't have a cable to attach my phone to USB so I don't have a way to directly try to download from the phone to computer. ?would I be able to import the files from my card to imovie?
    any other solutions?
    all help much appreciated

The MPEG4 video codec should probably work. However, the audio codec looks like a proprietary codec that is unlikely to work. But it is good news that it will play in QuickTime Player. If QuickTime can read it, you should be able to convert it to a format that iMovie can handle.
You could do this with QuickTime Pro ($30 from Apple). But there is a free program called MPEG Streamclip (from Squared 5) that will do this. Drag you clip into MPEG Streamclip and then FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME. Choose h.264 or mp4 as your video codec. Choose uncompressed, or AAC, or AIFF, or MP3 as your video codec. AIFF is most likely to work. Keep the dimensions of the clip at "current".
Be aware that your file is about a quarter of the resolution of a standard definition TV set, so don't expect it to look great. But if you plan to look at it online rather than on a TV or DVD, it should be fine.

  • What file types wil SMS stream

Is it true that FMS 3 will stream( i addition to FLV ) but also
file.mov ( provided they have h.264 video & aac audio)   and
file.mp4 ( provide it has h.264 video and aac audio )
and if so could someone provide examples of how that is called/ coded on a web page?
Basically -- here is what I have .
    i have file.mp4
I CAN stream these via Darwin streaming server on a linux box.
But --seemingly cannot stream those file.mp4  from FMS 3.0
So -- maybe someone is doing it -- maybe there is a subtle thing to do....
can anyone confirm that this should work
    rtmp://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/av1/mp4:v1/test.mov (or /test.mp4)
or to say it another way -- what do you need to do diffrent to stream a file.mp4 vs file.flv.
( there must be a gotcha -or i would be done by now )
    Thanks
