  • What files need to be cleaned periodically in Oracle Apps R12 ?

    Hi
In Oracle Database, periodically we clean alertlog, trace files from bdump, udump, cdump directories and at AIX OS level, /usr/tmp, /var/tmp, /root,we clean .tmp,.log files. Similarly, what files needs to cleaned from Oracle Apps R12 directories periodically to control the harddisk usage?
Any help is highly appreciated !
    Thanks

    Ateeq,
Please be careful when following the steps in the note referenced above especially when cleaning the $ORACLE_HOME/lib directory, otherwise your instance will not function properly. I believe purging the log files at the application/database tiers is fair enough to reclaim space and should be done on periodic basis.

  • What files need to be on the SD card??

I had to erase (moved them to my hard disk) the original files on the SD card to update the OS and get my 500 working, which I finally got to work. I then installed maps from the cd to the SD card and copied back the files that were originally on the SD card. Now the unit complains that it can't find an SD with the maps. Can anybody tell me what files need to be in what folders on the SD card?? TIA!!!

I'm having the exact same problem. Also, because there is an apparent problem with the updater now locking up and crashing, it's even more of a problem. Anyone have a fix on either the 500 not finding the navigator program on the SD because of erasure or the uploader crash issue?
    Thanks

  • What files need to be deleted to start fresh with iCal?

    Friends:
What files need to be deleted from places like the library to start with a fresh blank copy of iCal?
    Thanks amigos!
    Migs

    Migs,
Have you tried using the iCal user interface to delete all iCal data?
You can do this by creating a new calendar, and naming the calendar. Name it "Test" for example. Then delete all of the other calendars that exist in the "Calendars" sources pane.
Quit iCal, and remove the com.apple.ical.plist file from your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences folder. Also remove the Calendar Cache file from the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars folder.
Then log out/in or restart, and the only calendar remaining should be the blank "Test" calendar.

  • Crystal Reports Server XI - what files need to be backed up?

I don't want to set up a fail over cluster which there seems to be plenty of information on.
All I want to do is identify what files I need to backup incase I need to do a restore.
We use Tivoli Storage Manageru2019s backup and recovery solution for backups
    Any help would be appreciated...

Depends on the complexity of your deployment. Basically, your CMS DB and the FileStore directory are the only objects outside of the application itself that need to be backed up. The CMS DB contains all your security and links to reports, while the FileStore contains all the reports and instances themselves. You want to have the backups of these synchronized, so that you limit the number of report links that point to nothing, or have reports in your FileStore that have no links to them.
Other than that, if you have made modifications to your deployment to allow for LDAP/AD authentication, modification to server properties to adjust timeouts or orther parameters, etc you should have these documented so that they can be reaccomplished.
If you have the CMS DB and the FileStore, you can reinstall, point to the CMS DB, point to the FileStore, and be back up and running.
Those Tivoli backups should not be run on the entire installation volume while the system is up and processing scheduled reports. You will see the backup program report errors, as temp files are being created/destroyed, and executables will be locked. It may still run successfully with errors, but it may also cause issues with the report processing and stability of your system. Depends on how busy it is - it could still run successfully if it's quiet. Recommended best practice is to stop services, backup, start services.

  • WebHelp - What Files Need to be Posted on the Sever

    Hello,
can anyone tell me what files & folders I need to post to
the sever to enable my project to run. I have just developed a
small project and in the folder where it is saved there are two
folders and 44 other files inc the .xpj file.
    Can you help
    Tony

Colum & Leon I fear that I have missed a step in the
    process.
What I have done so far is produced my First Topic (the
welcome screen) placed three books (one nested inside the other)
and in the final book added a topic which consists of an Excel
sheet which has been converted to .html format.
To ensure that the changes took effect I clicked on the View
Primary Layout button and I was given the prompt ‘WebHelp
output is out of date. Would you like to compile before
running’ I clicked yes. RoboHelp then generated / compiled
the project and I checked to see that the changes took effect.
I then went to the relevant folder on the sever and delete
the previous version and pasted in all the files and folders from
    the ‘development’ folder.
As you can see I have missed out on the Publish function and
have also failed to locate it! So that is my first concern.
When I copied the files I copied ALL the files & folders
(high level) – to be more precise the [!SkinSubFolder!] &
    [!SSL!] folders and Files.
Would I be correct in saying that I should have only copied
the files and folders within the [WebHelp] folder (i.e.
\!SSL!\WebHelp\) and have the link from the intranet page point to
    my first topic.

  • What files need to be saved before a change of HDD?

    Hi all,
I'm about to change my HDD in my MB pro due to a disk problem.
I'm wondering what files do I save?  Do I just need to save my those in my ''User'' area?  Or do I need to save more than this?
    Thanks

When I say ''more than this'' I mean files like Applications, Library, Recent items, System...
    Any help gratefully received.

  • What files need to be backed up to make sure film project is safe?

Editing a feature film using Premiere Pro, Audition, Speedgrade, and possibly After Effects?  My question is what files do I need to backup to make sure the film project is safe in the event that the computer and hard drive both break.  Editing on a computer, with footage stored on external hard drive.  Will use a separate 2nd hard drive for the files to be backed up.
I know I need to backup the .pproj Premiere pro files backed up.  I know I need to backup the footage shot (both video and audio files) backed up.  I recently learned that I need to backup the files created by Audition, when I send an audio clip from Premiere to Audition and back to Premiere for audio editing.
So my question is this: what other files need to be backed up?  If I round trip to from Premiere to Speedgrade and back to Premiere, is there a file created that I need to back up?  If I do a round trip from Premiere to After Effects and back to Premiere is there a file that needs to be backed up?  Are there any other files that need to be backed up?
My goal - back up all files needed, so if I need to resurrect the project after computer and hard drive break, that I will have all files necessary to continue editing, and that no footage, or edits, or color corrections, or audio edits will be lost at all.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey there Matt, nice to "see" you here too!
I can answer one question directly: when round-tripping PrPro/Sg/PrPro, the only place Sg files "changes" is back in the PrPro project file. Essentially, its designed to function much like perhaps a plug-in "within" PrPro. So that part is one of the nifty things of the Direct-Link PrPro/Sg. Now something I'm curious about in your request is how the other folks with LARGE project back things up whilst working. I know they do not archive the previews & cache, but ... with a large project ... can/does it save time to backup those files also when you do get a crash/corrouption. Is it faster to get back working if you backup the cache/previews?
You note wondering where to store the outputs of Audition work-sessions. I put them in the "main" projects folder-tree. I know others feel this is "content" and put them in with the video/graphics folder-tree. I started doing it this way, but now ... wonder if the other is "cleaner" though the difference may be more of intellectual curiosity than having any actual affect on diddly. Note, as I've got separate discs for each part of vid work ... programs/system, cache & previews, projects, footage/graphics, renders ... that does influence having separate folder-trees per project on separate drives. If the project & content files are all on one drive, well ... that's simpler to backup/archive.
Video projects are so space-hogging these days ... "footage" just gets bigger you know! ... and projects more complex. Planning for both in-work backups and continual movement of material from project inception to archiving it off the "working" station is a must, as you are clearly aware. There are many different layouts folks have chosen or simply need to use for their workstation disc layout. This can have some effect on project "stage" planning also.
For those with a "hot" workstation with say a 4/5 disc RAID system for projects/footage/previews/cache so everything is on one big "system", I suspect everything can just live in appropriate folders under a project name to begin with. Backups and Archiving is pretty simple ... use a good backup program to copy & CHECK the the project master folders with sub-folders to your backup/Archive option/s, then delete off the working system (when Archiving).
And as noted here, there, and elsewhere ... putting all the "project" files & their assorted bits & pieces in one main folder per project, and then all footage/graphics/etc. "content" material in a joint folder-tree on the drive *that* lives on for working purposes make backing up & archiving/storing things much simpler. I've seen all sorts of things done afterwards but the simplest just seems to be collating the "project" files folders and the "assets" (content) files/folders under a general project name folder

  • What is needed to restore functionality to my CD drives--they do not work with iTunes version 10

I am running Windows 7 on an older computer.  Previously, I experienced no difficulty playing iTunes or burning iTunes music to CD.  At some point, after downloading newer version of iTunes I lost functionality in both of my disc drives (1 = Liteon DVDRW and 1 = Matshita DVDRW).
Recently I attempted to install latest version of iTunes, thinking perhaps the new version might address some of my disc drive issues--the problem:  Part way through installation the message, "Windows Installer unable to find necessary file," and alas, install fails.
Short of buying a new computer, what can be done to solve my disc drive issues?

  • What files need to be backed up before I change my hard drive?

I want to upgrade my hard drive from 120gb to 250gb. I want to start with a fresh OS. Is there a file I can copy to let Itunes know this is the same computer so I dont have to start from scratch with all my devices? I had a virus in the past aand would rather not copy the drive completely, just essentials.

You do need to backup your entire hard drive, preferably in the form of a bootable clone, using either SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner.
If you really had a virus you made history!
No viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions.
It is possible, however, to pass on a Windows virus to another Windows user, for example through an email attachment. To prevent this all you need is the free anti-virus utility ClamXav, which you can download for Tiger from:
    http://www.clamxav.com/download.php#tiger
and for Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion from here:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
The appearance of Trojans and other malware that can possibly infect a Mac seems to be growing, but is a completely different issue to viruses.
SecureMac has introduced a free Trojan Detection Tool for Mac OS X.  It's available here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
Download, install and run those two applications before cloning your hard drive, and you will be quite safe!

  • What files need to be where to store passwords from various sites?

Safari used to store passwords just fine but now it's not working. "User names and passwords" is checked in preferences. Which keychains need to be where?
    Thanks,
    FM

    Hi...
Open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type:   Safari Forms Autofiil    in the search field top right corner of that window then right or control click that keychain then click Delete.
Quit then relaunch Safari. Navigate to a site you want Safari to "remember" the password. Enter the user name and password. Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.
If you still have problems, back to Keychain Access.
From that menu bar click Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid
Click Verify. If necessary, click Repair.
    Try Safari...

  • What files do I need to transfer to move my iPhoto Library?

I have iPhoto content in Leopard, SnowLeopard and LION.  I want to transfer all of these files onto one external backup drive so that I can consolidate all of them into one library.  Where should I look and what files need to be transferred?
Is there an APP that will assist in consolidating all of these into one iPhoto library in Mavericks?

First rename each iPhoto library so they can be stored in the same directory on the EHD. Next make sure the EHD is formatted OS X Extended (journaled) with ownership set to be ignored:
With all of the libraries on the same HD and if you have the latest version of iPhoto AND  Aperutre you can merge the 3 libraries into one.
OR, you can use the paid version of  iPhoto Library Manager to merge them into a single library.  Note:  all libraries must be the same version for merging. So open them all with your latest version of iPhoto so they will be converted to the same version.

  • What are the iphoto files I need to restore iphoto library deleted from drive

A few days ago my hard drive started making noises and I was getting all sorts of errors.  I even got errors trying to do a time machine backup with the final error being "backup failed".
Earlier last week I imported a couple hundred photos of my kids from Christmas to present which also included our vacation last month.  I deleted the photos from my camera after the import.  Then foolishly, I didn't think to do any time machine backups between then and the time my hard drive started making noise.
I bought a new SSD drive.  I could still access the bad drive so I moved my pictures directory from the bad drive to the new drive.  It took nearly two hours.  It appeared to have moved everything, but it did not move the iphoto library.  The pictures directory is gone from the old hard drive.
I purchased FileSalvage and recoved thousands of deleted jpg files from my old drive, but none appear to be the pictures I lost.
It appears that FileSalvage will recover specific file types.  There doesn't seem to be a way to just tell it to recover the deleted "pictures" directory or recover "iphoto library".
If I was able to specify specific file names to restore, what files would I even need to specify?   I have iphoto 11.
I came across an article about iphoto library files from iphoto 6 and previous versions which explained the following iphoto files: library.iphoto6, albumdata.xml, Thumb32Segment.data, Thumb64Segment.data, ThumbJPGSegment.data, etcxxxxx.
    mmm
Does iphoto 11 use similar file names?  I'm not concerned with keeping my iphoto database in tact.  I just want my pictures.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong question.  Any advice on how to get my pictures back would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!
    MH

Simply, you can't recover the iPhoto Library. What you need to do is try recover the Photos that were in it. These will be saved as jpeg files* and that's what you need to search for. Recovering all the other files will do no good. You won't be alble to reconstruct the Library. Your aim is to get the Photos and then start over.
The search may find many files of the same name, try to recover the largest files - they are most likely to be your originals.
