What filter creates these effects?
HI all,
just wondering if anyone knows what 2 filters are creating these effects?
1 like a weed, vine grower

2 like a melted circle wave

Any help would be great
Those are made with Apophysis either 2.0 or 7x. 7x is newer and has the option to render the flame over transparency. Both versions are freeware.

Extra plugin scripts can be found here:

Edit: I should add if you are on Vista, you'll have to set your computer font size to 96 if it isn't already set to that font size in order for the editor tabs to appear.

What are easy ways to create these effects or graphics?
Hello,
I am trying to create a logo for a new business whose product is electronic cleaning cloths for iPads, computer monitors, or most things digital.
Therefore, I am trying to find out ways of creating motifs or design elements, parts of which I might incorporate in the logo. Thus, I would like to know how to create the following digital looks. There are a lot of questions here. I don't expect anyone to answer them all, just what you comfortably know and whatever is convenient for you to spare a few minutes to explain and/or show.
Thanks! : )
1. How can I create lines like these that glow?
2. How do I create the "stitching" or dotted line pattern in the circles and rectangle below.
3. How do I create the circuitry lines with their circlular terminals (or do I just use pen tool in Illustrator CS5?
4. Finally, how can I create these circuitry lines and shapes?A word of caution here. Yes, all of the effects you are showing can be done, either in Photoshop or Illustrator. I'm thinking gradient mesh and blends for the glows. A dotted line could be created in the stroke palette. But, just because you can do it, doesn't mean you do it. Logos are typically very basic so they can be implemented across a large area of application ( i.e., signs, vehicle graphics, letterhead and stationery, advertising, and internet applications ). If you were to create a sophisticated graphic effect, it would not hold-up in all of the potential uses and surely would not be rendered consistently. You will get vendor's who complain about this or that regarding your artwork. Try to think basic lines in Black and White that could easily be reproduced on an office copier. Later on, you can use the basic logo in a more sophisticated application where it would be appropriate.

How to create these effects? What is the most excellent effects resource on interwebs?
I always stumble upon excellent arts with effects I have no idea how to create. I bet most effects are very elementary and easy to create, but I just don't know how.
The most recent ones is this
http://www.wiseidea.net/nightblack/images/2c.jpg
How to create the "old" effect/stain? How about the fire glow+fire stain on paper?
Besides that,
What's the most excellent effects guides you've seen online with great application of effects to artwork?
You don't need to answer all of them, any would be appreciated.
Thanks! You may try and create overlays with raster images using opacity masks. Also try the blending modes.

What All Should I Learn To Achieve These Effects?
Hi,
I would like to know what all I would need to learn and which extra plugins I would need to buy to achieve these effects (Looking mainly to do the text effects and all the in video transitions)
I already have After effects Cs4.
http://youtu.be/tIPLTiKAQTo
The reason why I am asking this in particular is because I will be doing only these kind of effects and nothing more. So I neednt waste time learning things I will probably never use.
Thank you.Unless there's a specific reason for reducing the frame size of the original footage I always work at maximum resolution. IOW, Don't resize your 550D footage unless you can come up with a really good reason to do so.
My content is 100% for the web. I will be creating just one or two videos in 720P (For streaming via amazon S3 and cloudfront) and the rest in 480P (For youtube).
Unfortunately, there is no one size fits all solution to the problem.
I understand. My case is pure youtube and web videos. So I guess I should follow the below scenario
--> Shoot in Full HD.
-->Import the full HD to some video editing program and perform trimming as required
--> Import trimmed full HD to AE.
--> Apply the required effects (similar to the ones I showed in the video in my first post).
--> Import it in Adobe Media Encoder and Resize it to 480p or 720p as per the requirement and render.
--> Follow the above 4 procedures for the opener video (I have spotted a very good opener AE template for videohive.net)
--> Take the output videos and then stitch them together using a software like sony vegas or some video editing software and join them
--> Render the output video
Does the above procedure seem good?
A preset is something everyone using AE should know how to use and to create.
I tried some text animation presets. Worked out fine. Going to learn some more on this.
There you go.
Thanks a lot for your help.
If you like wasting a lot of time, effort and storage space you should use the workflow you propose. If you want to be more efficient, you should edit your footage BEFORE you do AE work.
How about the work flow I mentioned above?
There are all kinds of editing applications availble, Adobe makes one: Premiere Pro.
I took a look at it. It seems too costly. I think I will go with Sony Vegas -

how to install plugin and exta filter in photoshop cs ? and any special filter for special effects ?
kindly recommend me any best one and tel me step by step how i will add more plugins n filtersA Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install. It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install. In that case you don't need to install any. At some point you may read about a plug-in and what it can do and feel you have a need for it. Then you will have a reason to install a plug-in that is not installed by default. There may also be a cost involved most worthwhile plug-ins are not free.
Adobe Optional Plug_ins downloads are Plugins Adobe want to remove from Photoshop and no longer install by default. Also at some point in time these will no longer install into the current Photoshop for Adobe will remove feature or interfaces the use. For example the CS5 optional plugins will install in Windows CS6 perpetual version 13.0.1.3 but not in Subscription version 13.1.2 or perpetual Mac version 13.0.6 fot its 64bit only and the Mac CS5 optional plug-in for Picture package is only a 32bit plug-in.
You will need to keep and maintain old versions of Photoshop if Adobe remove features you use in new versions of Photoshop. -
What are the video effects used in this video
I was just wondering if anybody could help me. I was intrigued to find out what kind of video effect is used in this video at 0:16 - 0:18 and if theres a name for this type of video and editing used throughout the video such as the continous stream of different videos etc.
Do you mean the distorted lips or the bad tv reception.
The distorted lips can be anything from Bulge to Mesh Warp to Liquefy.
The bad TV reception can be started with the Bad TV Effects Presets that comes with AE. You can modify or edit these as you like.
I know of no specific style name that goes along with any part of this video other than lazy. It looks like nobody had an idea of what they wanted to do so they just shot a bunch of stuff and threw every effect they had in their bag of tricks at the project. Turn off the sound and it's impossible to tell what it is about. I don't mean to be critical but there's not much original here that I haven't seen a zillion times going back to the Video Toaster days. (probably before you were born). It's nothing more than a bunch of quick cuts and jitter.
Load up about 100 layers, trim them do different lengths from 5 to 30 frames, Select half of them, apply Bad TV1 to that bunch, Apply Bad TV2 to the another 10 random layers. Add tint, bulge, to a few more. set a couple of position and rotate keyframes to a few more then add wiggle to those, then use the Keyframe Assistant to sequence the layers and you'll be pretty close. It should take you about 15 minutes.
If you've got a specific question about how they made this jitter or how they made time stutter ask away. If used to tell a story these techniques are all useful. If you just want to create a jarring montage then follow my suggestion in the previous paragraph then run Brainstorm a couple of times. -
With that program is achieved adobe put these effects in the picture?
I wonder how you can make these effects. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8rLt0bUnFg
ivan
I have viewed the video whose link you posted.
If it is that differing letterboxing effect that you seek, then consider...
1. Premiere Elements 12/12.1 on Windows 8 64 bit, crop each video clip using fx Effects/Transform/Crop using the Top and Bottom options when you edit the crop
effect under Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Crop Panel expanded.
2. For the fuzzy left right edge effect for the letterboxed video, consider applying Edge Feather to the letterboxed video. See fx Effects/Transform/Edge Feather. Editing
of the Edge Feather is done under Appied Effects/Applied Effects Palette/Edge Feather Panel expanded.
I am still wondering if the "effect" in that video was the result of creating a specific effect or rather what resulted in the necessity to fit videos of different formats
into what appears to be a 16:9 space.
The above is my first impression on the matter.
We can discuss this further if any questions or need clarification.
Thank you.

How can I create an effect to cycle through several sets of 12 thumbnail images rather than just one
Hello
I've searched everywhere i can think of and had no luck so thought it's about time i asked for help.
How do I create an effect where a group of 12 thumbnail images (all with clickable links) can scroll across by clicking a button to reveal another set of 12 thumbnails and so on without having to refresh the page, im assuming jquery can help but every single slideshow or scroll effect I've come across is for single images and not a set of images.
Its a gallery part of my website and the images are in sets of 4 in 3 rows.
All and any help will be greatly apprieciated!
AnthonyI think what you want is a Carousel Scroller. See Demo and Examples

Can you please help me figure out what filter(s) to use to recreate this picture?
Hi Everyone!
I'm a student and not an expert in Photoshop. I'm trying to work over in After Effects using a Photoshop edited picture I was given (not separated in layers). However in order to give the image more movement I would like to recreate the picture, but have failed in figuring out which filters to use. Can you please help a student out? I would greatly appreciate it.!! (The first picture is the original, and the second one is the one I am trying to recreate) Thanks !Thanks for sharing that piece of information. I was only aware of creating posterized effects in Illustrator, though the
re is a posterize filter in Photoshop too. I'm learning as I post so bear with me. I find that providing a helping hand can't hurt unless you're way off base. In this case I guess I should have provided my suggestion as an alternative rather than stating that it could only be best done in AI.

How do I create an effect on on object similar to this on Illustrator?
How do I create an effect on on object similar to this on Illustrator?
Please see the type show in the link provided : "CHIVAS"
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F-lpKYp-QnE/UH8jwTkTmfI/AAAAAAAAOWQ/BuN9gm9Pe5U/s1600/Chivas+log o+2012.jpg
Also if anyone knows what font this is, it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
NickHello Ellie,
This is what I do:
First Create the brushes by selecting the shapes desired. Select the shape and place it into the burshes window.
(Main Menu: Window + Brushes)
Then A new window will show: Please select "New Scatter Brush"
After you click OK, a new window will appear:
In here I have selected Random Size, Spacing and Rotation. You may want to adjust the percentages to you design. The last thing to select is the Colorization Method; in this case "Tints" is selected because will allow me to change the color of the shape by using the color pallet window. After that click Ok and use the brush tool.
This is the end result after using the Mask Feature:
I know you can do something a lot better than this sample. I hope this helps! -
As the title states, I've got a .textClipping file that keeps getting created on my desktop when I log in. The file looks similar to: "6bc29bf81b634b3293da5e858930e06a88adf182.textClipping". I'm trying to figure out what is creating this file. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.Login items:
SophosUIServer
textexpanderd (Text Expander 2.x - possibly the culprit?)
TotalFinder
Remote Wonder Driver
Lockdown
macfusionAgent
Most of these I've had installed for a year or more. TotalFinder and Text Expander may be relatively new. -
How do I create this effect?
Hi, I have been searching on tutorials to produce the attached effect, but the problem is, I don't know how to describe it and have very little experience printing on fabric. I'll be submitting a vector image to a production company for printing on silk, and would like to create an effect similar to the soft-edged coloration in the ice tea and umbrellas. I tried feathering but there dosen't seem to be an option to feather one side of things. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - Julia
Bonus question: Does the linetype look basic, with the fabric altering the edges or does it look like a custom line type? What you show looks like a simple pattern of 3 pictures.
I’m pretty sure that the fuzzines is either due to poor printing or poor photography or both. -
Can anyone explain how to create this effect in Deamweaver and Fireworks?
