What Firewire Cable Do I Order for This Purpose?

I have an older (2004) Sony Handycam model TRV 460 with a Firewire port. I use a 2008 Harpertown Mac Pro, and need the right cable to transfer video.

I looked at the manual for the camera and the cable it comes with is a USB cable.

does anyone know what firewire cables work with isight? in order with the firewire cable adaptor, the thingy which holds the cable and plugs into the isight? i would like to use a cable which is about 5-6 meters.

the problem with most 3rd party FW cables is, that they don't fit into the isight cable holder thingy.
In addition to the suggestions others have offered here, you can get cables from your Apple VAR, Apple Store, or from the Apple web site. Several choices are available from Apple.
If you buy from an Apple retailer, he can find the correct items for you. For web ordering, as of this date:

so the task would be to find either a FW cable that matches the apple FW cable plug, or to find a ""connector" which would connect a 3rd party FW cable with a white apple one.

There are two types of cables - FW800 and FW400. However, your MacBook does not support FW800 so all you need is the standard FW400 cable. It has six (6) pins.

A brief description of a national defense project I am looking into is that the system being developed is supposed to verify the "smartcard" of the card holder and his/her fingerprints against the Defense Department database. The system also reads in information about people (facial features, height, weight, etc.) and stores the information in the database, and then issues new "smartcard".
1. People involved in the project already decided to use swing for the client tier.
2. The problem is the Defense Department database. It is a flat file database and this database cannot be touched. It is a black box for Java developers. The Defense Department may provide a jar as an outer layer of this database.
Question 1: Is the web tier essential for this defense project?
Question 2: What is the proper J2EE architect for this project?
Question 3: How to deal with the data problem? Especially it looks that entity beans are not applicable.
Question 4: How does the system handle very heavy load? It is possible that tens of thousands of people will use the system at the same time.

The model 7,1 is actually the Mid 2010 MacBook and is the only MacBook with a Mini DisplayPort that sends audio along with the video, Here's some Mini DisplayPort to HDMI with audio adapters from Amazon.

You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).

Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.

In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

The user wants to get a report regarding inbound cost saving including materials, material group, MRP controller, vendor, date, qty, actual inbound transportation cost, standard transportation cost which is fixed in SAP and variance between actual and standard.
Can any one advice me what Extractor and Extract Structure can be used for this purpose?

The extract structure, data from a DataSource is staged in the source system. The extract structure contains the amount of fields that are offered by an extractor in the source system for the data loading process.
Extractors
Extractors is a data retrieval mechanisms in the SAP source system. Which can fill the extract structure of a data source with the data from the SAP source system datasets. The extractor may be able to supply data to more fields than exist in the extract structure.

I also set up an icloud account for this purpose, but I *still* cannot figure out how to move my address book from one computer to the other. When I'm on my mac and try to use bluetooth to export the address book, I'm able to find my ipad but I soon get a message that it does not support the necessary services. I have no idea what's going on and would appreciate any advice. tks in advance, Sarah

The address book syncs via iCloud, not Bluetooth or iTunes.
You upgraded to Lion so you could use iCoud.
On the computer. go to Apple menu > System prefs > iCloud.
Sign into your iCloud account.
Tick everything.
This enalbes the se items syncing to iCloud.
On the iPad, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Create a new iCloud account.
Sign in with the same AppleID as your computer.
Settings > iCloud and turn everything on.
BAM!
That is all you need to do.
Your contacts (and all other checked items checked) will sync between computer and iPad.
No need to use iTunes

That is not true.
Mountain Lion does not have Rosetta so it is not capable of executing PowerPC code. If you have MS Office 2004 that is coded in PowerPC code and will not run in Mountain Lion. What you need to do is upgrade to an Intel version of Office.
