What flash player software is good for use with the Apple Mini?

I get "flash player missing" warning on news sites when I go to available videos. What can I do? I have a 2015 Apple Mini iOS 10 with 500 GB hard disc

There are no active reference viri in the wild for any of the hard-sold antivirus
applications to remove from the Mac OS X. You can use ClamXAV from its
maker's site (no other, as some are bad copies loaded with adware or malware)
here:    http://www.clamxav.com/   that can help isolate and remove items that
you may get from someone's email who owns a windows PC, if you do not want
to forward those to some of your friends who use windows.
A larger concern may be adware and some kinds of malware, they are avoidable
but unless you are zealous about how you use your computer gear online, it may
be possible to get several items that can make using your Mac seem nightmarish.
Here are a few links to information that are best glossed-over before an issue so
you may have an idea what you may be up against when or if you do get adware
or some other malcontent from browsing corrupted web sites. Oh, also avoid the
torrent or bitorrent sites that offer file sharing or 'free downloads' that you later will
pay for one way or another. These can be tainted with badware that starts out in
a web browser, or perhaps if you get a bad copy from corrupted download online
of a known software but not from the maker's site (such as a copy of Flash, but
not from Adobe's own site) these can be a lot of work to undo their bad effects.

For Adobe Flash, which is not installed in OS X anymore, you could get it, or see
what else may be helpful to use to see video file content. I don't use it and feel
that if there is some great need to see a video (most are like trash) the better ones
now use HTML5 or some other technologies that just work in the browser w/o Flash.
If you need Flash be careful and keep the OS X updated and be sure to get Adobe
updates for their product. Some of their products are OK, but some are bloatware.
The links I posted on how to get the Adobe Flash (adobe help pages) are ones to
note. There are other items in their site which may or may not be helpful to you.

If your ordered Mini has at least 8GB RAM (it would be soldered in as part of the logic
board, and so not upgradable; unlike certain former builds that allowed user upgrade)
and if it has an Apple Fusion or SSD Drive, or a hard disk drive with 7200-RPM spin
rate, then it would like be quick enough going forward a few years. More random access
memory (RAM) is separate from drive storage or system hard drive capacity; these do
different things. A computer may temporarily use storage capacity as virtual RAM, but
it would be limited by hard drive data rate speeds, that are much slower than chip RAM.
A Fusion or hybrid, or SSD (solid state drive) can speed up the system since the files
that would end up being written to that drive and then read as temporary RAM, would
be moved in faster speed, so your computer function would be noticably faster. A stock
Mac Mini with hard disk drive generally has a slower 5400-RPM rotational hard drive.
This is slower than a Fusion hybrid and much slower than an SSD. The latter is more
costly than the other choices. A fair option if it exists, is a 7200-RPM hard drive, of up
to 1TB capacity, if available as a built-to-order option from Apple when ordered direct.
(An authorized Apple service provider could upgrade the storage drives with suitable
product replacement, and not void the AppleCare warranty; an upgrade at that point
may or may not be covered under an extended (optional) AppleCare plan.
If you ordered your Apple Mini mac from online Apple Store, you have certain time
limits to return it; and depending on which country or region you live in, the rules may
be different. In the US, you have 14 days from when you get it, to change your mind
and notify Apple. If you do not notify Apple (they will authorize a return before you can
ship it back or before you could return it to an official Apple Store in person) the time
limit goes away and you then are the owner of the item. So you do have a limit if you
bought from Apple directly, online or from the official Apple Store. If you do return an
item to Apple you bought direct from them, you could call on the 13th day, providing the
day you call to start the return process is a business day & not weekend or holiday, and
that may allow you a few more days to physically return the computer to them. If you
were to return to the Apple Store online (via fedex or acceptable parcel delivery with
tracking) be sure to check to see exactly when you would need to get it back to Apple.
{If bought direct from Apple & not an authorized independent reseller, be sure to ask
Apple sales when or if you have any issue; returns or pre-arrival, they can be helpful.}
And if you are not in the US or Canada, there still may be 14 days return, if bought via
the official Apple Store (retail location) or from the online Apple Store. This isn't available
through authorized resellers who set their own sales return policies as independent agents.
Anyway, hopefully your new Mini has sufficient upgrade to work well with Yosemite and
whatever applications you may need to load into it; some can be top-heavy in demand
of resources. That's why one has to consider the purpose prior to buying a configuration.
Hopefully this helps you somewhat.
Good luck & happy computing!

    Hey guys,
I found out an answer by myself...
The missing link : the MacBook Pro needs to be powered... as in you need to plug the charger in...
In conclusion, you simply plug everything, turn on the MacBook Pro, close the lid, and there you go !

  • Flash Player will not install for use with Firefox

I cannot install Flash into Firefox, To see Flash content, I must use Google Chrome...no problem there. Way back when, I had no problems with Firefox.
Though I am an administrator, I get the "insufficient permissions" message just before the installation is complete. I tried everything suggested in Adobe's help area in that regard.
What I have tried: A new administrator account. Making sure I was running the .exe program and Firefox as an administrator. Delete and reinstall Firefox. Use the uninstall from Adobe for Flash, and then try the reinstall. Disabling all security while doing all of this. Installing in Safe Mode. I spend a few hours on this every month or so.
A new install in Chrome happens. I even downloaded Commodo Dragon, and have the same trouble there...I feel like Chrome is wandering around inside there to keep me from using Firefox!!! I have been using Firefox for years, and still strongly prefer it, but I am about to give up.

Could you check the progress of the install.
    (1) Physical file location
The DLL is deposited in this folder:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
    Can you find NPSWF32_11_9_900_170.dll there?
    (2) Registry entry
If the file exists, the next link in the chain is the registry entry Adobe leaves for Firefox to find.
If you are comfortable using RegEdit, that should be here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer

Hi Robert and welcome to Apple Discussions,
There are adapters available that convert micro cards into fullsize ones.
You will also need a USB card reader if you do not have one.
    Good luck,

I have an external hard drive that was formatted by a PC and has files and directories copied to it etc. I want to use it on my IMAC for backup. I see it on my my IMAC . I can open files etc.  But I can't seem to write to it nor can I delete current content. I don't care if I lose current content. How do I initialize it for use with the MAC?

You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/24481/ntfs-3g
If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)

  • Is there a large, clear desk pad suitable for use with the Magic Mouse?

My well-loved Magic Mouse will not track on my clear, 36" X 24" desk pad and, thus, I'm looking to replace it with  a clear desk pad at least as large, but suitable for use with the Magic Mouse.  Currently, I'm using an extra-large Wowpad for my mouse.  Would a clear, matte desk pad work as well as the Wowpad with my Magic Mouse, or must I continue to use the Wowpad and seperate desk pad?  All suggestions grartefully accepted!

  • What type of monitors can I use with the Mac Mini?

    Hello,
I was thinking on purchasing a Mac Mini. I was not sure if the monitor I have at work with function with the Mac Mini. It is a: 20" ViewSonic Professional Series P815...
Does anyone know if this monitor will work with any Mac Mini? Is there an adapter for it?
    Thanks.

It would be fine for them all - all minis have come with DVI video connectors and adapters to convert that to VGA, so aside from the possibility that the Viewsonic might suffer the greyish or dull screen problem that affected a small(ish) proportion of displays with the first generation mini, it should connect up using the adapter just fine, and be correctly recognized by the system.

  • What flash player do I download for pre intel mac?

The auto download on hulu keeps insisting on downloading intel based flash player.  Adobe flash website has no clear information on which player do download for macs with g5 processor system 10.4.  any ideas?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, the Archived FP files can be somewhat difficult. That's why I gave you that thread, since I included Apple's instructions on what FP zip file to download, along with the exact FP file to use.
The reason that Adobe doesn't have the PPC/Pre-Intel link is because that is not supported anymore.
Apple made a change back in 2009 when they went to the Intel Chip.
Apple, a company that's rarely namby-pamby about making technological changes, has put its foot down once again with its Snow Leopard upgrade to Mac OS X due in September.
When the new operating system arrives in September, it'll work only on Intel-based Macs. That means Mac OS X 10.5, aka Leopard, will be the end of the line for those with Macs that use PowerPC processors.

Many older Flash Player versions are in the Archived Files, but at least they are available:-)
Glad whatever version you Installed is working however, so you must have Installed the correct one!!

  • What is a good third party display to use with the Mac Mini?

The Acer monitor I bought simply doesn't work with my first generation Mac-Mini. When connected to the VGA connection I get a "input not supported" message. When I connect the DVI, the screen blacks out when I scroll and then comes back, at first I thought it was just with Firefox but soon discovered it was with any application I used. After some research on the internet I discovered that there is a problem with the firmware design on the DVI's on Acer Monitors. My new Acer monitor is enjoying it's new home in my sisters office, on her desk, connected to the VGA plug on her computer, enjoying Windows XP.
At another web site for the Mac-Mini I was told that there are not that many displays that work for the Mac-Mini and I would be better off purchasing an Apple display, only problem is that the Apple displays are not within my budget. I would like some suggestions on this board from users as to what third party displays they use with a first generation Mac-Mini? I'm looking in the budget range of $200 to $250 dollars. I have a first generation Mac-Mini, Mac OS X Panther.
PS I have tried setting monitor resolutions using both the VGA and DVI plug, they don't work.
Thank you for any help I receive.

    Charles,
I cannot speak on behalf of hooking this model of monitor up to a mini, however I do have a 19" Planar monitor at home hooked up to an old G4 tower via VGA, and the 19" Planar monitor that I have at work is hooked up via digital to my G4 15" PowerBook. I love both of these Planar 19" LCD monitors, and have absolutely no complaints. Planar's three year warranty is nice, and their tech support is top notch. I had an issue with the monitor at work, and I had a replacement on my desk in two days. Returning the bad monitor in the pre-paid box that the new one came in made things effortless. We have a few Planar's in the school district that I work in, and have no major issues with any of them.
Not too sure what the most recent pricing is on this model, but CDW was selling them for around $225-$230 delivered right to your door.
    Hope this helps.

  • Flash Player 11 64-bit for Windows with 32-bit Debugger Keeps Crashing

    Hi,
I have been battling with this crashes since Flash Player 11 came out. I have a 64-bit Windows machine and installed Flash Player 11+ 64-bit with 32-bit debugger. Every time a run my application it crashes. Even YouTube crashes also. If I don't install the debugger everything works fine (but then I can't debug my application). I tested it in Firefox, Chrome and IE and all of them crash.
I am contented with FP 10.+ for now (until Adobe come up with a solution)  because it works for me including the debugger but I have an issue with my application that only occurs in Flash Player 11.
If anyone else knows a fix or how to get around this, please share. Thanks so much.

i have the same problem and also the uninstaller tells there is an error but no information is available.

  • What wireless router would be good to use with OS 10 Lion at home?

I have a Mac Book Pro with Leapard and I just recently purchaced a iMac with Lion. I want to set up a wireless network with my provider, in my house. What wireless router should I use that is compatable with Lion OS?

  • Best HDTV for using with the mini

I would like to purchase a new flat screen TV that will be relatively plug and play with my intel mini. Basically I would like it to watch DVD's and use Front Row. TV screen size around 42" and a dpi of 1080.
What TV's should I be looking at?
    Cheers,
    Phoenix
intel mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    MBP   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have a Samsung 40" LN-S4095D hooked up to my Intel Mini w/a couple external drives. All my home videos, Music, Photos etc. pumping through my Stereo, I could not be happier. Front Row works flawlessly, and my DVD player now collects dust since the Mini does it all in 1/10th the space!
Get the wireless Keyboard and Mouse (or buy a third party set if you prefer) make sure you have 2gb memory in your machine for optimum performance. The Mighty Mouse scroll/zoom option (I happen to love the mighty mouse, despite mixed reviews on it in the press) is fantastic for checking out some details on a web page in you happen to be online to check something out. I will pop online infrequently from my mini since my main machine is in another room, but while watching video or listening to music I will jump online to check something out or look for new music and it is nice to zoom in at the click of a key and scroll of the mouse. I like desktop realestate so I keep the resolution at1620x900 or 1920x1080, and some text can be small even for my good eyes, so zooming once in awhile is nice, and my kids think it's cool. I have a 250 and 750gb Newertech Mini stacks (started with the 250 and filled it with my musice library then added the 750 for video) but any decent external drive will do nicely.
I bought a DVI to HDMI cable and simply plugged it right in (DVI on Mini side , HDMI into TV)
Also, while iTunes store bought music sounds great on my system (get a Miniplug to Toslink adapter so you can take advantage of the Digital/Optical audio out capabilities of the Mini if your sound system can accommodate it) I prefer ripping my Cd's in AIFF format for zero loss in quality. It takes up significantly more HD space, but I have the GB's to spare and at high volume there is a notcieable difference with a quality sound system and speakers. At normal volumes (and even a bit louder than "normal") or on typical home stereos or car stereos you are unlikely to notcie a difference, so if space is an issue a compressed audio format is fine.
