What Flash Version in Shockwave Player 9?

Hi,
need to know what version of Flash is supported by the
Shockwave Player 9. I only know that Schockwave Player 10 supports
Flash 8.
Does anybody has reliable information or can tell me where I
can find them?

if they don't have that version they should be prompted to update their flash player.  are they?
if yes, and you want to aim for an earlier fp, use the earliest version in which your site functions correctly.

I, like many others, need Shockwave 10 in order to support
Windows 2000 installations. However, it's nowhere to be found on an
Adobe web site. However, according to a recent message to me in a
support case, maybe it will be one day soon:
Please refer to the page below to download older versions of
    the
Shockwave player. This page will soon be updated so that
    Shockwave 10
will be included in the list of previous versions for
    download.

They did not offer any explanation as to why this has been so
long in coming or why this page is so bloody hard to find.

    Hello jp acuna,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing/describing, or what the exact message displayed is. If it is asking for an Apple ID in order to activate the iPhone, you may have a phone that has been Activation Locked. If that is the case, you may find the information in the following article helpful:

  • Using 10.5 what flash version do I need.

Using 10.5.8   iMac G5. What version flash do I need to view BBC iplayer/

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
I am in the same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer (using Safari), although all other flash videos (YouTube for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

  • Old version of Shockwave Player keeps crashing - installing new version hangs

I had reproducible crashes of FlashPlayer (in all my browsers (IE, FF, Google Chrome and Safari) and on misc. web pages).
I then decided to install the latest version 11.5. Clicking on Install hangs the browser.
Is there a download version of the installer?
The reason I am asking this: I had exactly the same issue with flash player. The web-based installer would always hang, the downloadable installer finally worked. But, alas, Adobe is always hiding the downloadabe installers... :-(  )
    Michael

Adobe is always hiding the downloadabe installers
I'm confident that if you had searched this forum for a link, you'd have found it. Nevertheless, here is the full installer

  • What flash version are you all using? (RE:Browsing and Performance)

Curious if anyone is having any luck sticking to older versions of Flash or earlier versions of firefox/safari/camino?
My Powerbook is mainly a browsing/reading machine now, but even the odd embedded clip will take ages to load, and playing simple games on youplay will push the cpu usage pretty high...

My Firefox uses Flash V10.0 r12 and works fine.

  • Shockwave player version 12.0.9.149 msi install

    Dear Adobe!
I've already applied to the Software Distribution process, but on the page I got in the email, there is still the old version of Shockwave player (12.0.7.148).
When could I expect the new MSI installer to be uploaded?
    Thanks,
    Levente Luksa

This link should always point to the latest compiled/uploaded version. If it isn't current you'll need to talk to someone on the Director team, and none of them monitor this or any other related forums.

  • Shockwave player for WinXP x64

Not a lot of things seem to require Shockwave player except jigsaw puzzles.  For a long time I thought there was a site problem with msnbc.com regarding their jigsaw puzzle page in that there was never a puzzle displayed and no error messages as to why not.  After several emails with their tech support I went to adobe.com and downloaded the latest Shockwave player and installed it.  The result was then an error message about the player.
Turns out the only way I could get the puzzles to work was by going to oldapps.com and downloading an older version of Shockwave player (10.3.0.24).  Now the puzzles display, but regularly I get notifications that a new version of the player is available.  My browser shows that the plugin for Shockwave player needs to be updated as well.  When I go to a site that tests the Shockwave player, it fails with any newer version of the player.
To further add to the problem, some sites that offer jigsaw puzzles apparently test to see if I have the latest version of the Shockwave player and pop-up an error notice.

Since this is a "Discussion" forum, my only question is what don't you understand about "Discussion"?  The post was merely information sharing for XP x64 users of Shockwave Player.

  • No sound in shockwave player 11

I have installed, uninstalled shockwave player 11 both ways
(directly and stand-alone). When I go to the web-site my son's
teacher recommended for his auditory processing problem, the first
thing it does is installs an earlier version of shockwave player. I
do get the program to load but no sound. I have also downloaded to
my desktop, the swadcmpr.x32 file and copied it into the system 32,
macromed, shockwave, xtra file. I have turned my browser off when
installing. Basically, I have tried all of the fixes that I noticed
on this site with no luck. I would really appreciate anyones help
especially for my son. Thank you in advance.

    Hey Dan,
After talking to someone in Adobe support, which they could
not figure the problem out either, I found another program on-line
that needed to download Shockwave player 11. I downloaded it from
that site and all is working well. I apologize I cannot remember
what or where the program is located, it was some game my children
wanted to play, but like I said, it worked. There must be something
in the "official" download that locks that part of the program up.
    Good Luck!

  • Shockwave Player Backward Compatibility

Overview: Our Web Application uses Shockwave player to play DCR movies. At the end of the Movie, an event is raised by DCR movie which will be captured by VB Script functions in webpage. This event will be used to identify if the Movie has completed. This is very crustal information for our Application.
We have been using this method to capture the Movie end events in our application for over a decade.
    Issue:
In the latest version of Shockwave Player  V 12.0.7.148,  VBScript is not able to capture the DCR movie end event in Internet Explorer 9 and 10 Compatibility mode.
If we use Shockwave Player V12.0.4.144 , VB Script is able to capture the DCR movie end event in IE 9 and 10 Compatibility mode.
    Details:
The following “Lingo Script” is placed at the end of the page (Director Movie), which will generate an external event and can be captured by JavaScript (for getting the page completion status).
    on exitFrame me

In our Web Application, the following “VB Script” is used to capture the external event passed in the Director Movie.
         <script language="vbscript">

But same code is not working on Shockwave Player V12.0.7.148
We understand that above lingo script will not work on Chrome and Firefox.

  • Unable to Install Macromedia Shockwaver Player

I have installed Macromedia Shockwaver Player before without
any problems. However, when I tried to install it on my laptop
computer with Windows 2000 Professional, it got an error while it
was installing. The error states "Could not load the DLL library

Shockwave the day before on this very same computer with everything

Windows, but again, I did the reformat and reinstall couple times
before and installed Shockwave Player without having run into this
problem. I'd like anyone to suggest what the problem might be and
    help me resolve it.

Well, Adobe obviously has done all their versions of
Shockwave Player to not support Win2k any more, because it was just
last week I was able to visit sites that requires Shockwave Player
without getting the DDL error. Now, I'm not able to either install
or visit sites that requires Shockwave. The following is what I
requested of Adobe and got from them and then requested again:

I find the response from Samuel really useless. To start
with, I am pretty sure that this problem is due to Adobe's fault,
    for I hav

  • Installing Shockwave player on Windows x64 for IE9 x64

My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
I have upgraded my (32-bit) Shockwave player to version 12.1.3r153, and it appears to be working for IE9 32-bit, and Firefox 28 (32-bit).
I was fairly certain that in the past, I had downloaded and installed a 64-bit Shockwave player for a previous version of Shockwave, but I can't be 100% sure of that.
I'm trying to upgrade/install Shockwave player 12 (64-bit) on this computer for use with IE9 64-bit, but I cannot find the Shockwave 12 64-bit install package download. It appears that there is not a 64-bit version of Shockwave player 12 available.
    Where can I download a 64-bit version of Shockwave 12 for Windows 7 x64?
If this is not available, have they abandoned 64-bit for Shockwave?
Is there an older (but fairly recent) version of Shockwave available in a 64-bit version?

There has never been a 64 bit version of Shockwave. You are perhaps confusing it with the Flash Player which does have a 64  bit version

  • A site downloads an old version of SW Player even though I have the newest version installed

Over the years I've played games at a site (Garfield Games).  The last few years, whenever I update to the new version of Shockwave Player, Garfield Games downloads an old version of SW Player (10.4 to be exact) citing compatibility issues when I try to play a game.  It doesn't matter if I use Chrome or IE9 to download the new version of SW player, or go to Garfield in either browser, as soon as I try to play a game I have to download the old version of SW Player.  I notice my newest version is located in User-AppData-LocalLow-Adobe.  The old version is located in C-Windows-System32-Macromed-Shockwave 10.  If I delete the SW 10 file and try to play a game at Garfield I have to download the old version again, or I can't play the games.  This only occurs if I download a new version of SW Player (as it deletes the older versions on my system)or if I manually delete the old version.
My system isn't that unusual,  Vista 32 sp2, Webroot anti virus, windows firewall, Secunia.
When the old version is downloaded, Secunia flags it as a security risk.  I delete the SW Int.exe file in SW 10 and Secunia no longer flags it as a security risk.  I also delete 7 other files in it, and it still works at Garfield.  I've contacted Garfield and they claim it's my system.  Garfield is the only site that I have encountered this problem.
I've tried googling this question, and there's nothing really comprable.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I know that some sites do that.  I don't know of any way to prevent that, except to avoid sites that do that.
If I really wanted to prevent that, I would try to set the permissions in the target folders
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Director
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10
    to prevent anything from installing.

  • How do I download Adobe Shockwave Player for separate system?

Seems that the install page on the Adobe site is only configured to install the package on the system accessing the download page on the Adobe site. I need access to the installer file so that I can update the version of Shockwave Player that is installed on systems I have that are not and cannot be connected to the Internet.

  • Difficulty downloading latest Shockwave Player

I recently had to reinstall my hard drive and, thus, installed the latest version of Shockwave Player. The installation seemed to proceed normally; however, when I attempt to access a site that uses Shockwave, I get the following error message:
    Missing Shockwave Decompression XTRA
When I click OK, I get the error message:
    Error playing Director movie.
I'm running Windows XP, with IE 8.0.  I have attempted to uninstall Shockwave, but can't find it anywhere on my add/delete programs menu. All my other Adobe programs are there, just not Shockwave. I have attempted to reinstall Shockwave, and after clicking on "agree and install", it goes directly to "in order to install Shockwave, you must restart computer". Upon restarting, I'm back at square one: same error messages and no way to fix it.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Thanks! I tried your suggested download and ran into the following two errors:
1 - Error opening file for writing: C:\Windows\System32\Adobe\Director\SwDir.dll
In the interest of checking to see if it would do without that, I chose "Ignore" instead of "Abort" and then ran into a second problem:
2 - Error opening file for writing: C:\Windows\System32\Adobe\Shockwave11\SwHelper_1159620.exe
Knowing it would probably not work, I chose "Ignore" again.
I'm still getting the same error messages as originally.
