What FM transmitters are good???  (Docks w/ VW's)

Hey, I'm looking for an FM transmitter.
I was using a headphone to headphone type jack cable and of course that worked great but not every head unit has a audio input jack on the front.
So I wanted to get an FM transmitter b/c I jump cars a lot and would like it to work regardless of the car. I need ones that broadcast good.
I bought this belkin one:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=257339
I like that one because it's "wires free" and doesn't need to be connected to anything but still has optional charging. Obviously a docking station doesn't have that ability - has to be plugged in.
and it just seems like it can't broadcast all the way to my antenna (both feet).
My roommate's letting me borrow this one:
http://images.skymall.com/images/products/1d/16/06/102112516x.jpg
He says it's real good, g2 go out today and am going to try it. Does anybody know what's good and what's not. At first I liked the belkin one which is why I bought it - it's good because it's small and compact - but it seems like it doesn't broadcast too well which is why I wanna check out what the griffin one can do.
Anybody have any suggestions? At first I wanted one that was very ergonomic but now I don't care if it has a dock or not or is required to have a cig lighter to use - at this point I Just want one that works :-\
PS:
Anybody have a docking station with an MKIV (MKIV is '99.5 - present) VW.
The cig lighter is in a weird place, it seems like a docking station transmitter won't like, fit into that due to where it's placed.
Anybody have any tips let me know. I thought this belkin one was good but I really don't like it. Very good in the way it's comapact and uses iPod's power - but it just doesn't emit strongly.

No, I have mine currently wired to an aftermarket jack. The reason I ask is because I switch cars A LOT due to what I do, this and that and want something that's not permanent. Something I can listen to in my car, and then take in that flatbed for long car hauls.
In my civic (my daily driver) it's hardwired into a Sony CDXGT400 head unit with an audio in jack on the front.
Most cars have cig lighters, so I'm just saying an FM transmitter's more versatile than a hardwire. I have the Belkin one, it ***. Every time I moved it I got **** reception, this was on PURE static channels too, and the antenna there is right next to the driver's side window (in the A-pillar). I haven't been able to use the one my roommate let me borrow because it won't fit into the cig lighter on my car because of the way it's designed.
When I go out tomorrow I'ma stop off at radio shack and get an extension cord.
I'll post back how it works out with the FM transmitter dock. Any more info please let me know.
I like the smaller ones (oppose the whole dock) because they're easier to deal with. Though whatever works at this point :-\

  • I have a 2006 Lexus RX330 and want to play my nano 6th generation through radio. Don't want to use 'tape cassette'. What FM transmitters are really good?  I have wireless bluetooth for phone but doesn't work for music.

There are so many FM transmitters ranging from $2.00 to $100.00.  I have a tape cassette in car and an old cassette adapter that doesn't work well and makes noise.  The car has bluetooth wireless for iPhone but does not play music (unless I just couldn't figure this out.  I want the best transmitter for city driving, but one that doesn't cost too much.  Any success stories?

For anyone following, I looked further into the tape cassette adapter and it seems to get the best reviews vs. FM transmitter.  Guess there is a good reason that I have the last year model with a tape cassette.  Worth mentioning is the Maxell one gets a better review than the Monter one.  Not sure why, but it's cheaper. Anyone else find a good quality tape cassette adapter?

  • Componentlist and what the components are good for

    Hello,
I am searching for an overview of the NW's '"standard" component and it's meaning to recognize which components I need to update and what they are used for.
Has someone seen something like this?
    Thank you, Maximilian

    Hi,
As per my understanding you are trying to find and update the software components in the SAP system.
You can find ABAP side components in SPAM display all packages.
If for java the go to http://ipaddress:5xx00\index.html
Then navigate to system info it will show you all the java components present in your system,
And you have to aptch all this components.

  • What Dell Laptops are good for 3D Typography in Photoshop CC 2014?

Well the search goes on...my Dell 17 with Intel Pentium ain't cuttin' it! lol
My range is $900 - $1100. I'm looking for a Dell Laptop with a 17" monitor and ample processor with enough "dedicated graphics memory" to utilize the 3D features on Photoshop CC 2014 and Illustrator cc 2014.
Unlike the AMD and NVIDIA processors, which have a certain amount of RAM dedicated for just the graphics, Intel's i3, i5, and i7 don't list what amount of the RAM is dedicated to the graphics.
    HELP!
    Sincerely,
    ALCi

As it happens, if you ever watch 'The Photoshop Guys' on Kelby TV, they nearly all use MBPs exclusively.  I believe one of them also uses a desktop — maybe Cory Barker because he does all the 3D stuff.  I'd worry that a laptop that does not specify video RAM, is using onboard video, and not a dedicated video card.  The GPU is an important component regards Photoshop performance, so make sure you get it right.

  • What tech specs are good for adobe lightroom 5 and photoshop cs6?

I was planning to change my laptop to a better one as the lightroom and cs6 have been running very slowly recently. It might due to the aging of my laptop.
I wanted to change one good one for the both programs that i mentioned above. please advise. Thank you.

Since the RAM on the Retina model can't be upgraded by the user, I would go with the full 16GB.
I would also look at the 512GB flash storage option - you don't want to lug around an external drive.
    Just my 2¢...

Good for what sort of business? To do what? There are hundreds if not thousands of free or inexpensive apps that might be useful to you, so without any sort of parameters on which to base suggestions, making recommendations is all but impossible. Search the web for "iphone business apps" and you'll find a number of articles with suggestions and opinions; you might find those a useful place to start.

Content acquired with an Apple ID is permanently tied to that ID.
There is no reason to create a new Apple ID, frankly that will just create more issues.
It is possible to load content from multiple Apple ID's onto a single device.  If the content is in the computer that the device syncs with, simply select the content and sync it.

  • May CDs keep popping out when I place them in my desk top mac. What should I do? I checked to make sure the CDs are good and the right format.

CDs pop out of my deck top Mac as soon as they go in.  They are good CDs and I tried many of them.  Anyone have this same issue and what fixed the issue?

  • What are good quality speakers to purchase for mini mac

what are good quality speakers to purchase for mini mac?

While I can't recommend any brand of camera, you should consider a couple of things about the editing... iMovie 8 is a good program to use if you just need to create something quickly with little real editing and sound manipulation. And iM 8 will interface with both DV tape cameras as well as hard disk/flash drive types as well. You can export the product to web services, etc very easily but it will take some extra effort to create a DVD from the edited shots. There is no direct export to iDVD.
If you want to get more serious about editing, you should consider looking iMovie 6 as it has much more flexibility in rearranging clips, adding and editing sounds, etc. However, it will only interface with DV tape cameras, which by the way, are the highest quality pics available, and you can create DVD disks.
You might try borrowing a tape camera to make a test run and compare it to a camera that uses a HD for storage. Use iM 8 and compare to ease, etc, and the product to one created in iM 6. This certainly is not the kind of recommendation you are asking for, but maybe will help in making your decision about which way to go.

  • What security products are suggested for scrubbing rootkits from a Mac? There are good articles on similar repair for PCs and it makes me want to see if I can save this machine. It's in forensic recovery right now so I myself have not done anything yet.

What security products are suggested for scrubbing rootkits from a Mac? There are good articles on similar repairs for other makes online. I would like to investigate whether a machine can be truly scrubbed or if it's best to retire it. I haven't done anything yet as it is a candidate for more extensive forensic recovery.
Also, I am not sure if various malicious spoofing and cloaking tricks (making Wi-Fi appear off when it is on, hiding unauthorized sharing/remote access, falsifying System Preferences preference panes, etc.) are resolved by a thorough drive erase or are more similar to APTs?
Finally, is there any emerging information regarding APT hiding places other than the recovery partition? I have heard mention of the EFI, for example, but it seems unproven and unlikely. Some people have also mentioned the RAM.
This is an upsetting topic to some people, including me, so I appreciate circumspect, measured responses. Thanks! And don't try to answer all my questions if you really just want to comment or answer one. All thoughts are appreciated.

    Hi, Lincoln,
A straightforward question. You are correct in recognizing the difference between tentative conclusion and certainty. Here are our main reasons:
    1. Incoming items noted on the console (or console sub logs) and Activity Monitor after defenses are overcome, and which are brought in by an unwelcome remote user, often have a process name and the word "kit." (Bear with me.) We soon observe the process is under attack, from terminal evidence and soon, decreased or lost functionality of the process. The terminal generally reports alteration of specific kernel behaviors. A simple example (that may or may not be accompanied by kernel changes and may simply alter permissions) is modifying Disk Utility such that key uses are unavailable. You can see how an attacker might value disabling partition views, mounting and permission repair. In retrospect, DU might not be a root alteration. I was thinking that its relation to fsck flagged it as a possible ring 0 item. I may need to know core parameters of a good example to pick strong ones.
    2. Incoming folders hidden for possible later use contained bundles of similar root kits, including some not applicable to Macs. From what I have read from reasonably credible sources, root kits are sold and traded both singly and in bundles.
    3. Root kits are a logical next choice for our attackers, as various prior techniques hindered us but did not paralyze us.
    4. One of the most authoritative articles I found was about PCs not Macs. I noted the assertion, undocumented, that an estimated one million computers are infected by root kit manipulations, and underscored that the kits can be used by people with low computer skills.
    5. MacAfee lists root kits (by description, not name) as a top pop five threat prediction in the coming year, though again, the emphasis is on PCs.
Linc, I am trying to show a spectrum of observations and info that have shaped my thinking. To retrieve better captured evidence requires significant legwork at this time, but it is something I am willing to do if you can be patient. Understand this long attack has been like a natural disaster to us.
I have not linked a few articles of interest because I forget if that's allowed. If so, I'd be glad to.
After reviewing this partial answer, you may form another hypothesis. If so, please share it. I am comfortable with my position but not clinging to it.
Thanks for your interest. Looking forward to your thoughts.
Oh, yeah: some material is out for analysis, so we should have credible opinions pretty soon. Not positive exactly when.

  • Edge and Next are good for the corporations but are they good for the consumer?

Ok so I have never paid full price upfront for a phone!  Ever since my first phone from VoiceStream I have opted for what ever phone was "free" because way back then (I blush as I type) I actually thought the phone was "free!!!" Ah, to be naive again!! But as we all know the phones never were nor will they ever be free.
However I say programs like Verizon's Edge and AT&T's Next are good for the corporation if they weren't they would not exist.  The first reason I say this is because Edge and Next allow the cellular service provider to easily recoup the entire cost of the phone in a clear way unlike with subsidized phones that muddy the profit water.  For example, the Verizon 64GB iPhone 5s retails for $849.99, currently with a two year contract you pay $399.99 for that 64GB iPhone 5s.  The EFT for that phone is $350 (minus $10 per month of post paid service).  If you on the 15th the day after you got your phone you paid the EFT but kept service you only paid $749.99 for that $849.99.  Sure you still pay for service but you can leave when ever and Verizon cannot say hey you owe us $100 more for you phone.  Its yours and they can't take it back and the only way Verizon will get that $100 back is though another customer  that subsidized a much lower cost phone that at the completion of that contract Verizon will  more than recoup the cost of that lower priced unit. To top that off you could turn around and sell the phone for $800 go back to Verizon or another provider buy a $450 phone and break even.  I'm not suggesting that people do that or that it may prove to be a big hassle for some that went through all the trouble.  Its just a point to show that subsidized phones make the profits less clear for the service provider to see at first glance.
Second reason these programs are good for the corporation is they allow the service providers to get a better grasp on the true cost of maintaining their networks and providing us the consumer access to their networks.  Third reason it good for the corporation is the people that feel the need to upgrade every six months to a year are required to pay at least 50% of the retail cost of the phone at the same time they must surrender that device in exchange for the new device.  So the service provider then has the phone refurbished certified to be in "like new condition" and sell it again potentially making more than retail cost when the profits of both sales of the same handset are factored together.
That being said what will the impact of programs like Edge and Next have on cost of future cellular service plans and smartphones?  Over time will the service provider give us the best per line access fee (not likely but maybe)? Or will people upgrading their smartphones at faster intervals cause the cost of the smartphones to drop over time? What are your thoughts?

Sun Java Enterprise System Support Forum and the Directory Server's "Release Notes" [See docs.sun.com] is a good place to find this information. Also upgrade to the latest DS5.2 Patch 4.
One probable cause could be that either the BindDN or the SearchBase used by your application no longer exists in the upgraded server's setup. Please check the access log on the Directory server to pinpoint the culprit. The corresponding entry will have "err=32".
    Examples:
    SRCH base="dc=abc,dc=example,dc=com" ....
    RESULT err=32 tag=101 nentries=0 etime=0
[Note: Tag 101 means the search base does not exist]
    BIND dn="cn=user,dc=abc,dc=example,dc=com" ....
    RESULT err=32 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0
[Note: Tag 97 means BindDN does not exist]
Based on your requirements, you will either have to add the missing entry or upgrade your applications' configuration to use an alternative entry.
