What Folders Should Install?
I'm trying to figure out what samples should install and what instruments should install? As it seems like after upgrading to 8 from Logic 7, all the files have not installed.
In the Media Browser for Loops I have 19210 Loops (which seems right)
In the Library I have the following folders (which doesnt)

07 Drums and Percussion

Something feels like its missing (Other Jam Pack Instruments?) But maybe I'm wrong. Does this match what y'all have out there on your installs?

yes, some jam pack gfiles don't show.
try redoing spotlight indexing.
if you still have lp7 on board, use it's Project Manager to check also.
you should be doing all this on a test volume at first, leaving your main boot volume safe.

Hi gang,
Although some of you make think this is obvious, it really is not. In preparation for Mountain Lion, I curious what folders and files (other than the obvious) should I move off to another drive? I'm going to do a clean install this time around. I'll probably do an upgrade first to understand any gotcha's when I upgrade my wife's MBP later, then do a clean install.
I'm going to move the documents, my Aperture and iPhoto libraries, but I'm unsure about the iTunes folder and my movies and such. Most of my software has come from the App Store, so I don't need to worry aobut those, and the few other programs I have the software for (iWork, iLife, but we'll probably need new versions of those.
I just preparing a list to make sure that I get everthing.
Thanks, MarkWhen doing a clean install OS upgrade I like to swap out the time machine drive, storing/retiring the old time machine as a backup of the old system while keeping it's Time Machine history.
So personally what I do is:
#1 clone my boot drive to an external (at this point I have two backups Time Machine + a clone)
#2 wipe the boot drive and install new OS on it (at this point I still have two copies of my data TM + clone)
#3 verifiy the old time machine is accessible from the new boot drive (sometimes due to ownership/permissions/filevault this is a problem so check even if migrating from clone)
#4 selectively migrate files from clone or TM to new install
#5 Start a new time machine of the new OS drive (sometimes I'll wipe the clone at this point and use it, prefering to keep the old TM as a archived backup)
One note, I've burned myself at least once forgetting that I'd excluded some parts of my old drive from Time Machine drive (usually Podcasts, Movies), so pay attention to that before relying on it. -

What files should I transfer back to a clean install of mountain lion?

I have a 2.4 GHz core 2 duo running snow leopard. I want to upgrade to mountain lion but want to start with a clean install. i have everything backed up on an external hard drive. My questions are this: what files should I transfer over from 10.6.8 while leaving the old junk behind. I will reinstall only the compatible apps later.
My second question should I use migration assistant or set-up assistant? I can't seem to find the necessary tutorial that is straight forward for this.
Any help would be appreciated.If you're doing a clean install, which usually isn't necessary, then you want to bring over as little as possible. You can use Migration Manager in Setup Assistant to bring over your Accounts if there are no problems there. (If there are it probably accounts for the issues you're having and you'll need to troubleshoot your Home folder.)
You'll probably want to leave settings behind. Applications you already said you would install later.
The reason to run Migration Manager on the Setup Assistant is becuase after that it tends to create a second Home folder, which is not helpful.
Be sure you have a good backup before you begin. -
I have a 2 yr old Iphone 4 and have not backed up or connected to Itunes up for 1 yr. I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. What steps should I take and what precautions? I don't want to lose any data on my phone such as music, photos, contacts, notes, texts etc, nor lose music from prior backed up Itune folder. If I were you, I would reinstall itunes. BACKUP ALL YOUR ITUNES MEDIA TO AN EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE BEFORE DOING THIS PLEASE.

The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier

I've just decided to take the plunge and buy a K8T Neo (w/Athlon 64 3000) and was wondering if anyone (Bas?) could tell me in what order I should install the various drivers (and what versions are the most stable) for the board/chipset and whether I should flash the BIOS before or after installing Windows, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Also, I am going to be using a pro-audio card (WaveCenter PCI) and was thinking it'd be a good idea to disable the onboard audio. Is this possible/wise?
Finally, for RAM I'm thinking of getting two sticks of Crucial 512MB DDR PC3200 (CT6464Z40B) as it appears there are at least two people out there with stable systems running this RAM. Can anyone say otherwise?

Install instructions for CS6 upgrade for WIndows missing - in what order should files be run?
After over 14 days of dealing with the idiots at Adobe Support, opening and closing of 2 cases multiple times, promised emails not being sent (and being blamed for having my email set up to filter out Adobe emails), attempts to charge me for the already approved "free" upgrade, and then having an order for a physical disk version of the CS6 upgrade cancelled by some bonehead, I finally was able to download the CS6 upgrade files. Only to discover that there are no installation instructions for Windows if you did not use the Akamai download manager (which I did not).
There are a total of 6 files in the download directory, all downloaded from the CS6 upgrade download page.
- In what order should the files be run? Just run the .exe files, or do some files need to be extracted/unzipped first?
A second question: my CS5.5 version was never installed, and never registered.
- Will the CS6 upgrade accept its serial number directly, or do I have to do something else through Adobe Support?

I can't get Safari to load period. It quits immediately. According to the troubleshooting, I'm to un-install any third party plug ins. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for? I don't recall installing anything that wasn't an upgrade.
Unplug your iBook from the AC power, shut it down and take the main battery out for about fifteen minutes. Then you can put the battery back in, plug the power back in and restart. This should reset the USB and FireWire ports.
If that doesn't help, you could reset the Power Management Unit. Follow the instructions in Knowledge Base Article #14449 for resetting your PMU.
You probably should also startup from your Mac OS X install disk and run the Disk Utility to "repair disk" on your hard drive. This will determine if you've got some kind of file directory/software problems with the files on your hard drive.

After installing Mavericks on my 2008 Mac Pro (10GBRAM, several HDs, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon) Software updater says there is an update available. iMovie Apple Version 10.0 Released Oct 22, 2013.
So I click the UPDATE button
Software Updater puts up a dialog that says "Your computer’s video card does not meet the minimum system requirements".
I have ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB. What card SHOULD I have?

This is what you do.
1. open app store.
2.go to the update tab.
Yuo will see the imovie icon waiting to install.
3.clic the sub menu tab and select "try apdate in an hour" option from the sub menu.
4.leave the app store window open and came back in an 1hr .
Like magic you will see the imovie app being upgrade it in the lunch pad .

Have Mac OS 10.7.4 installed on an iMac-3.1 GHz Intel Core i5...the Finder will not find files on Windows mounted volumes...what setting should we be using...tried the same/working settings as our iMac 10.6.8...did not work for 10.7.4!
