what format should i burn dvd in to play in blueray player? Using MacX DVD Ripper Pro and Handbrake

MacX DVD Ripper Pro and Handbrake
Neither is suitable for burning DVDs or BluRay media. They are DVD rippers/converters, not DVD authoring tools.  Handbrake doesn't produce any format suitable for DVD Authoring.   And while MacDVD Ripper can create .mov files even that's not a guarantee the file can be used for DVD authoring.  You need DVD Authoring software like Roxio Toast to burn DVDs or BluRay disks.
Most BluRay players can play both standard def DVDs and high def BluRay disks.  Which kind do you want to burn?  And what exactly is your source media (video) that you want to burn?
And if you want to burn BluRay disks, you need a BluRay burner.

  • What format is playable on dvd players in France

I want to send a home movie to grandma in france but I am confused about what format, NTSC or PAL is used for dvd players in France. Any body know??
    Thanks

I want to send a home movie to grandma in france but
I am confused about what format, NTSC or PAL is used
for dvd players in France. Any body know??
    Thanks
Getting good quality out of converting NTSC to PAL with the tools we have available is pretty much impossible.
Since most PAL players also support NTSC,I suggest you try sending her an NTSC DVD to see if she can play it.

  • Help: Export format from FCP for DVD Studio

What settings do I export my 3 minute film so I can use DVD Studio Pro? (What size do I want if I want my film to be wide screen just like a professional DVD movie you buy at your nearest store?)
    Thank You!

In FCP, go to File->Export->QuickTime Movie. You can choose to make the file self-contained or not. Do NOT recompress all frames. The resulting file will be an exact copy of your Sequence in FCP.
Use that file in Compressor. Choose the appropriate preset for DVD. Compressor will create an MPEG-2 (.m2v) video file and an AC3 audio file. Use those two files in DVD-SP for authoring.

  • What Format Is Used for eprint Emails?

I'm interested in generating eprint jobs from a Linux machine, so I'm wondering what format is used, and how you cope with email gateways which can accomodate messages of limited size.
    Can somebody assist please?
    Regards ..

    Hi Graham,
Try keeping the email size to less than 5MB for faster printing.
    http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/us/en/ep/articles/eprint-mobile-printing.html
What e-mail clients can I use?The following e-mail clients have been tested by HP ePrint*:
    Outlook 2003, 2007
    Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail
Apple Mail (iPhone, iPad, Macbook, Macbook Pro )
    BlackBerry mail client
    Nokia/Symbian client (Nokia)
What attachments can I send?HP ePrint will print e-mail attachments for the following file types**:
    Microsoft Word
    Microsoft PowerPoint
    Microsoft Outlook
    Microsoft Excel
    HTML
    Text files (.txt)
    PDF
Images (bmp, jpg, png, gif, tiff)
Do e-mail attachments have size limits? There is a 5 MB total limit, and a maximum of 10 attachments to a single e-mail. E-mails that exceed these limits will not print.
    Hope this helps.

  • What format to use for iDvd.

Hello and thank you for reading.
I am currently saving home videos onto my hard drive as .dv files via iMovie events. I am also using iMovie to cut these files however I see fitting.
I am trying to find a format to convert these files so that it will provide clarity once they are burned onto a dvd (via iDvd) and will not be an overwhelming size (each hour of .dv footage is about 12 gb). Thanks for the help.

As Klaus says, .dv is excellent for bringing into iDVD for creating DVDs. In terms of storage for any future editing, highlights, compilations, etc. you can:
    * send your video back out to tape (full resolution storage, but flattens titles and transitions into the video; need a tape reader in the future)
    * retrieve the desired video from the DVDs or disc image (mpeg-2 format is fine for viewing, but it's tossing lots of content; eg, at 12 gigs per hour in .dv format, it's about 4 gigs when compressed into mpeg-2 format. The format conversion tools keep getting better, but that's a big gap to overcome).
    * use large hard drives to store .dv format files (storage keeps getting cheaper and I like the flexibility of this option since the video is relatively uncompressed).
Personally, I keep the original files and a virtual DVD (disc image) so I can easily make another DVD for someone (from the disc image) or I can jump back into the details of that project.

  • What format's best for burning iDVD project?

I have a two hour documentary I'm hoping to burn in iDVD.
Using Quicktime Pro and/or Mediaclip I created files in these formats: .dv, m4v, mov.
Given the length of the film, what format file should I import into my iDVD project?
    Thanks very much.
    Bohdan

First recommendation is to not exceed 2 hours of QuickTime playback (120 mins) for SL media (and twice that for DL). It's actually smart to keep it a few mins. shy of the stated duration/s.
Secondly, here are the files which work best:

  • Help - I need help to know what format is best for FCE

I have a lot a various videos to convert for FCE. I have generally just converted them to MOV h.264 (these are not HD) and use these in FCE.
The problem is the video and audio all has to be rendered. Also if I want to add an audio filter I can't listen to it in Real time as it has to be re-rendered.
I am growing tired of watching the progress bar creep along.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rich

Sorry I should have mentioned it.
All for NSTC and the original is a recording done by GoToMeeting. It is a Windows Video Media Standard 9.
Usually I have to then play it and capture it as we don't want the full screen. I capture it with Snap Pro X, The result of that is an Apple Animation Millions IMA 4:1. with FPS of 10.
I then bring that in to FCE and put in Sequence and Render it. Can't do anything with the audio as it has to re-render it before I can hear it. After Render is has light blue lines above. After editing, it's exported as Flash FLV for the web. THe end size must be 720 pixels wide,
I have MPEG Streamclip but it has so many options, not sure what to use.
I have looked all over for something that talks about formats to use and have found nothing as they all seem to think the original Video is being imported from a camera.
    Thanks for the response.

  • What formats can the Mac DVD player App support/play?

I have a list of movies that I imported from my friend, and, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which formats will work and which wont--totally not tech savvy enough to figure this one out.

Unless the movies are on a DVD disk, DVD Player is not your App. Quicktime is it. You should be able to simply double-click the file to open with QT Player - the Mac knows how! - ÇÇÇ

  • To make Live CD what format is correct for pkgs and kernel?

The pkgs are available in /var/cache/pacman/pkg as .pkg.tar.gz.
Is this format correct for a LIVE CD construction? And the kernel?

Googling on the subject of LIVE CD reveals that the kernel may have to be modified to load as a ...ramdisk root/boot...
Other references include an initrd method for the kernel.
Are there changes to the kernel required to make a LIVECD possible?
None of the googling seems to apply to kernel 2.6.5...
Some claim to have made a LIVEDVD copy of LIVECD media which can be done with the .iso in k3b, perhaps!
Best way to promote arch?  A LIVECD, perhaps!

  • What format do videos for the Nano have to be in?

I have videos that are already in MP4 format that will not upload to the 7th gen nano. They are not high def cause they were taken with a phone ... is there a converter out there that I DON'T have to pay for. This is ridiculous that the kid such an amazing gift and they can't use it due to all the proprietary #$%@& you have to go through just so they can use it.

All of the encoding parameters supported by the 5G iPod are on the tech specs on the Apple site:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
See the row "Video Support" about midway down the page.
On the Mac, I've been using Handbrake to encode videos to MP4 for the iPod, works great. There's an article or blog entry somewhere with all the details, but unfortunately I don't have it handy.
