What format to export from mpg in QuickTime Pro 7

Hi, I just got Quick Time Pro 7, because when I´am trying to use the videos of my old sony digital camera in imovie, this gives me a message that cannot support this format, which is mpg, so one time before, I changed them on a pc software, and it worked, but this time I got Quick TIme Pro 7 to convert the videos, but I cannot find an option to export them with the audio, is exporting only the videos with no audio, can somebody tell me what format do I have to use?
thanks

  • What format to export from FCP for iDVD?

I am having trouble coming from FCP to iDVD. Material was shot HDV on a Sony Z5 and I downconverted to DV to edit on FCP. I make a Quick Time Movie of the edit (as DV PAL) but the pans are all juddery. How should I export from FCP to stop the juddering on pans?

  • Best video format to export from final cut pro to encore

hi, i'm using final cut pro and no matter what format i export my video in, be it quicktime, mpeg2 or avi, there's still a slight degradation of picture quality when i import it into encore. mpeg2 by far suffers the least. but is there a best video format i can export from final cut to adobe so dat there's minimal loss in quality?

Sure, export it as an uncompressed AVI or QT file.

  • What format to export to?

I have a completed project for a movie about 2h in length. I need to know what format to export it into before I take the resulting file and make it into a blu-ray. I am interested mainly in what format(s) is used in the "industry"/by the pros, at this step. As high quality as possible would be a bonus, too.
    Thanks.

To clarify/consolidate some of the above info, the official Blu-ray specification is, well...pretty specific. The content on the disc must be either MPEG-2 or H.264, and of a specific kind of MPEG-2 or H.264. You can take an .avi or whatever into Encore, but Encore will transcode that material to the proper format to meet Blu-Ray specs before burning. Even if it is H.264, but not the "right kind" such as meant for YouTube, it will have to be transcoded to meet Blu-Ray specs.
In AME, you should see "H.264 Blu-ray" and "MPEG-2 Blu-Ray" options. Further, there will then be multiple presets available for each, and that is where the "Match the timeline" comes into play. If using HDV source material, such as 1080i 29.97 at 1440x1080 resolution, then you will find a 1440x1080 preset to match. For full HD, there are 1920x1080 options and make sure to match frame rate. Not all frame rates are supported though, so there may be a conversion needed.
As H.264 is a more efficient codec, it is the better choice for quality, though at a high bitrate MPEG-2 and H.264 may have similar quality. H.264 can pack more quality into a smaller file, so for longer videos (lower bitrate) then H.264 has the definite advantage. Basically no reason to even use MPEG-2, unless maybe doing some quickie proof and you think MPEG-2 will encode quicker to meet a deadline perhaps.
Once you choose the correct preset, the only adjustment in the settings to consider is the bitrate - if it is too high, the encoded file may be too large to fit the disc, then Encore will be forced to transcode (re-encode) the material again to a lower bitrate. There is a size estimate shown at lower left of AME window, but that is not always accurate. You may want to consult an online "bitrate calculator" - you just punch in the specs of the disc (DVD or Blu-ray, length, etc.) and it will recommend a data rate to use.

    1) In 'ExFAT' format, is there a limitation on the file size?
    Not one that will matter.
    2) Is 'MAC OS Extended' format, only for MAC computers?
    Yes, only for Mac
    3) What are those (a) journaled (b) Encrypted & (c) Case-sensitive? or when to use those?
    Again, only for Mac.

You cannot export directly from Lr to another program.
You have to export to your hard drive and then open them in Premiere.

  • No Sound when exporting from .mpg to .mov

I have recently upgraded my quicktime to 7.1.6 and upgraded with quicktime pro.
I have a movie that is currently in a .mpg file which works and plays sound perfectly. I am trying to change the format to a .mov so i can import to imovie.
When i perform the export i have the picture and the movie still plays but i have lost all of the sound. What am i doing wrong or not doing?
I have already checked the Audio MIDI setup and its set to 44100.1 hz in the audio input and audio output.

QuickTime Pro has never been able to extract audio from muxed file formats like MPEG 1 or 2 and Flash video).
Use MPEG Streamclip (free) to convert to QuickTime formats.

  • Best high quality format to export from final cut for DVD

What is the best format to export in final cut to put onto a DVD?
Mostly its footage from VHS so it doesnt have to be awesome but need some tips
    cheers

You can't get any better than what your Sequence settings were in FCP. Export a self-contained or reference movie (File->Export->QuickTime Movie) from FCP. Do NOT recompress all frames, but do include DVD-SP markers (if any).
Bring the resulting file into Compressor and choose the appropriate DVD preset. You can duplicate, then modify a preset if needed.
You'll have two files from Compressor: an MPEG-2 video file (.m2v) and a Dolby Digital audio file (.ac3).
Import those two files into DVD-SP for authoring and burning.

  • Auto format textfile exported from database

Hello, Im working as a graphic designer and I just got a hard assignment. Im making sort of a catalogue with lots and lots of diffrent clubs listed. I get a textfile with all the information delivered like this:
    2320#CITY#1#Number#CLUB
    2320#CITY#1#Chartrad#Mars 1953
    2320#CITY#1#Charterpresident#53-54 N Lastname
    2320#CITY#1#Address#Location#Street1###zipcode#City
    2320#CITY#1#Meeting time#Day#12:00
    2320#CITY#1#Phone#xxxx#xxxxxx
    [email protected]
    2320#CITY#1#Webpage#http://www.gamlegamle.com
    2320#CITY#2#Title#Firstname#Lastname#xxx#xxxxxxx#email
    2320#CITY#2#Title#Firstname#Lastname#xxx#xxxxxxx#email
    2320#CITY#2#Title#Firstname#Lastname#xxx#xxxxxxx#email
    2320#CITY#2#Title#Firstname#Lastname#xxx#xxxxxxx#email
The goal is to automate the process of formatting it. The first three columns are not going to be in the catalogue (2320#CITY#2#).
This is what I want to achieve:
    http://forumbilder.se/DC7GU/formattest
I´ve managed to import it to excel and get it a bit less overwhelming. The idea Im working on right now is to try and format it in excel and then import to indesign and link the styles.
    Any ideas?

Normally you can export data from a data base and transform it, like adding or trunceting text elements, formatting numbers, time and day and such things are best done upon file export from FileMaker or Access or whatever you use.
Another possibility is exporting from a DB as XML. For InDesign you will need to transform that information with a XLST rule and you can import that transformed XML file into InDesign and tag XML tags to text styles in InDesign. If you cannot handle the export from the DB of the client I would choose this way.
If you are the owner of the DB or at least have direct access to it you could consider the use of a special plugin which connects InDesign to the DB. With this solution you could rewrite changes from InDesign to the DB. This could be useful as you detect errors or you can make changes in the document and you want to repair that information in the DB for later use.

  • File Format for export from Ciscoworks to ACS

    Hi,
I want to export devices from Ciscoworks lms 3.2 to ACS 4.1 with the cli-tool
    dcrcli expAcs
But, what is the file format I have to use
lsattr gives me just the complete list of all cs-attributes
    thanks, William

If you do not specify the file name,
–In Non-ACS mode all the devices from DCR will be exported to the specified server.
–In ACS mode, only the devices that are not configured in ACS will be exported from DCR to the specified server.
The file format is the same as when you export the devices from DCR.  If you perform an export to a CSV for example, the tool will use that last file unless another file is specified.

  • What Format To Export?

I have a video that I edited in FCE and exported it as a self contained mov file that plays great on my MacBook Pro, but no luck on Windows. What do I need to select and any particular settings required to give me the best quality file that can play in either OS.

What are the full specifications of the sequence you were editing in? You likely edited in an Apple Intermediate Codec sequence - the codec only comes bundled with pro video applications. In that case, you'd need to export it as a high-quality file that can be viewed on both Macs and PCs such as H.264 (you may or may not need Quicktime installed on your PC to view files exported from your Mac).

  • Change in report format after exporting from pdf format to excel format.

    Hi,
I got a problem while exporting the pdf format of the Report to Excel format "Fully-Foramtted Grids and Texts".
    The format gets automatically changed.
Is there any solution to this problem.

Can you give some more details?
Which version are you using (and which patch level - if any).
Also what formatting is default on the reports and what is the default format in excel.
What exactly is different between PDF and excel?
Another possibility is that font substitution is going on??

HD-DVD is a dead format. It may play on your mac - or an HD-DVD set top player, if you happen to have one - but nowhere else. If you just want playback on your mac, compress to h.264 with your current frame size. If you want a DVD it will have to be SD and Mpeg-2 as Shawn already explained.

  • Exporting from imovie to quicktime movie

I have a 1080i HD movie in imovie I want to export to a quicktime file. In imovie the file is 50 gigabites. When I export at full quality it turns it from 16:9 to 4:3. When I go to expert settings and render it to a quicktime movie only the sound comes through...no video. This only happens with this particular movie. Other short movies I have are compressed to quicktime in HD just fine. I need suggestions how to render this from imovie to quicktime so I can keep the video in HD.

I tried that and it makes a file without
    video...sound only.
Itsounds like you didn't have the Sound box checked.
