What front-end tools could be used to access the database server.

Could someone please let me know what would be the role of a oracle DBA in the following fields of corporate sector and what might be the front-end tools used to access the oracle database. Any little help is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
1. Telecommunication - Oracle 9i - Small to Medium size company
2. Cash n Carry (with 4 to 5 branches) - Oracle 8i - small to medium
3. Share broking (with two branches) - Oracle 8i - small

The role of a DBA should be to get out as quickly as possible, because both 8i and 9i are desupported.
Front-end tools are
Developer
JDeveloper
HTML DB (probably no longer available, while desupported)
Oracle Portal (9i and higher)
.NET
Oracle Application Express (successor of HTML DB, don't remember the minimum DB version, likely 10g)
Sybrand Bakker

For Visual Composer no need any Front end tools.. you need portal connection.. to configure your visual compoer.. the visla composer it self contain all the items.. just like a Webtemplate..
all the reports.. that web based reports or dash boards we can view through Browser only..

Intalling BO front end tools on top of SAP BW (trial version).

Hi All,
I currently work on SAP BI and SAP Enterprise Portal projects. I am looking at installing BO Front end tools on top of SAP BW (just a trial version though).
Does anybody have the links where I can download this software? Also I have played about with Excelsious which appears to be the new version of analyzer. What is the new version of Web Application Designer (Pioneer??) Is it possible to integrate web templates created with BO into the SAP Enterprise portal? Is there any guides which explains how to create simple dashboards with BO front end tools and integarte them into the portal?
I have a found some decent blogs already and am currently attempting to install BO onto my laptop.
Any help appreciated.

yes you can implement BO Reports/Dashobard into the Enterprise Portal in some way. Its a bit tricky and here are some usefull guides you may have a look into.

What thrid party tools are you using for backup compression?

I have a few SQL Server 2008 standard edition instances and I'm curious to what third party tools people are using for backup compression. I know upgrading to enterprise edition or SQL Server 2008R2 or above will give me that compression but I do not
have that option right now. I'm familiar with Idera, Red gate and Litespeed and I just want to know what else is out there.

I just tried this for you and was able to start the download process..here is the full path for sap gui 7.10 for windows version..
ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/win/710/compilation1/
It doesn't even require email..just right click and then save target as its in a compressed form..

I am actually trying to make a script (in Sql Server 2008) to restore one database from one backup file. I made the following code and I am getting an error -

Check, if there are existing connections to the database you are restoring by following command
select spid from sys.sysprocesses where dbid = db_id('AdventureWorksDW')
if you see any existing connections then kill them by issuing KILL command Syntax for kill is

Generally, that means the phone has been jailbroken (hacked). You can try restoring it as new using iTunes. Beyond that, there's really nothing we can advise as jailbroken phones can't be supported on these forums.

i do not know what this means. I purchased the phone brand new two years ago and have never had any problems with it. The message i am getting reads:
