What games come with in Leopard ?

Hi,
Can anybody tell me what games come with Leopard and where are they kept please?
Thx George UK

Games are definitely one area where OS X comes up short. There's always the tile game widget that comes with dashboard (if you like that sort of thing). There are also some pretty good game widgets on the apple downloads site (including minesweeper, mastermind and even some simple arcade games).

I am new to Macintosh and my new MacPro should arrive around the 25th of February. What programs come with the new OS? Are there any photo or DVD programs? I really don't know what comes with the new system?

  • When Lion officially comes out from the Mac App Store, I understand that I can just buy it from there. However, will the laptops have Lion automatically? Or does it come with Snow leopard still.

The ones sold that day will come with Snow Leopard most likely but they will be able to get a free upgrade to LIon if they apply within 30 days. Hardware coming through the supply chain from the day of the announcement will have Lion installed so it depends what stock people have to move before buyers see those.

  • Installing Leopard server on the servers that only come with Snow Leopard

Has anyone ever "downgrade" - installing Leopard server on the servers that only come with Snow Leopard installer disc??? Is there anything special involved?? Or can I just pop in a Leopard Server installation disc from previous generation servers and procede?? These servers are going to be a part of Xsan. And with my previous horrible experience with Snow Leopard and Xsan, I am really trying to avoid going through that again... Thank you!

The general answer is yes. But the conditional answer is that you must have the original installation media from the Xserve model before it started shipping Snow Leopard exclusively. This means you would need to have bought an Xserve as recently as December to have the combo OS pack as I believe Apple stopped shipping Leopard around early January (although that might be on BTO models so if you got one from the channel it may still have the original media kit). You need to be mindful of the machine's Boot ROM version. The change of one digit can cause some issues with older installation media.
If you don't have recent media kits, you "should" be able to construct a functional OS by building on other hardware and patching up to 10.5.8. Then cloning it to the new unit.
And, you've peaked my interest. What specific issue have you had with 10.6 and Xsan?
    Hope this helps

Apologies for any confusion we may have caused.
Currently, the DTAs (small boxes) are limited to viewing (up to and including) Digital Starter content.
Our DTAs don't yet support full strength encryption like full cable boxes do. Full-strength encryption is currently required for authorizing premium channels (like HBO) on a DTA.
DTAs that we have deployed support "privacy mode". This is a limited fixed passkey form of content protection.
We have no current plans to activate full-strength encryption, but if we were to do that in the future it would be done in a way that would be in compliance with FCC rules, including obtaining any necessary FCC waivers.
Some additional background at the link below (the article is from 2012 but still a good primer):

We can certainly arrange to swap your DTA for a full cable box. Please give us a call at 1-800-COMCAST or stop by one of the the local service centers below to swap your box.

I could not get Best Buy's link to work, but Besy Buy sells them also. It is not hard to find it - go to Best Buy's website, on the side go to Audio and MP3, then go to Ipod and MP3 players, and search all of them, find it, and click on it, scroll down to the tabs with different information on them, click "specifications", and scroll to see what comes with it.
These are only a few of the stores you can get them from and the most popular stores I could think of.
    Hope I helped!

  • Does 'Stuffit' come with Snow leopard..?

Have I lost stuffit etc or does it not come with snow leopard?

Some users might think the same thing when they look at your profile: there is no such thing as a "G5 imac (27)." G5's are PPC Macs & cannot run Snow Leopard. The last G5 iMac came in 17" & 20" versions & the last OS version they can run is Leopard. To avoid any future confusion, consider updating your profile when you get a chance.

  • Bought you Mac Mini from Amazon? Did it come with Snow Leopard installed?

I want to buy a Mac Mini from Amazon simply because it's cheaper and there's no tax, the question is, does it come with Snow Leopard like the one from Apple does?
I am not being a cheap @ss here, i lost my job and trying to save every penny i can.
    Totals:
    Amazon: $577.95
    Apple w/student discount: $599.78
The 9.75% tax is killing us here in CA

Even if it does not come with Snow Leopard installed, or the upgrade drop in disk, you should still be able to get it for S&H from Apple thru the Up-to-Date program.
... If you’ve purchased a qualifying computer or Xserve on or after June 8, 2009 that does not include Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $9.95.*
This program ends December 26, 2009. Your completed order form must be postmarked or faxed within 90 days of the date of your purchase of a qualifying computer or Xserve (described in this offer) or by December 26, 2009, whichever is earlier.
Also, you may want to look into Apple's refurbished Mac minis. They are usually a Mac that was DOA when shipped to a customer new and has been repaired by Apple. They are technically brand new and carry the same warranty. Occasionally they have surprises, like upgraded RAM.

  • Does xcode come with snow leopard

    Hi,
I was wondering if xcode comes with snow leopard? If so, where do you find it?

do u need to be a dev to use it?
You can sign-up for a "Free" Apple Developer Connection account which gives you access to newer versions of Xcode, as well as additional developer resources.

  • What applications come with Leopard DVD?

I am getting a new laptop and plan on doing a fresh install of Leopard (10.5.6, and then software update to 10.5.8 I guess) for when I give my old one to my sisters. What applications will be on my old laptop after I do the fresh install?

A "new laptop" can't run Leopard, unless new means to you a used or refurbished Mac released prior to August 28, 2009:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2186
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1159
And some won't install 10.5.6 , unless they were released new prior to May 12, 2009, for the prebundled 10.5.6, or December 15, 2008 for the retail 10.5.6.
See my FAQ* on buying used and refurbished Macs:
    http://www.macmaps.com/usedrefurbished.html
And check that the applications you want to load are compatible with the operating system that comes with the machine you want to get.
Also be sure, when you give the machine to one of your sisters, that you have license for both the old and the newer machine for any applications you wish to give to the sister and keep for yourself.

  • I have A question about Adobe creative Suite 3 Design Premium, and what it comes with..

My boyfriend works for a office furniture company building and tearing down office furniture. Today one of the people who worked at the company he was tearing down told him he could take any of the programs there as they had no use for them. So he took the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium as well as mac OSX Leopard, thinking I would like to use them. But I have a PC.
My question is what comes with the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium? Since I can not use it, I thought I could sell it, but do not want to do so if I do not have everything it comes with or needs. What I have is three disc's, in the case. There is the application, the content, and the video workshop. There is no booklet or anything with it. If anyone could answer my question, I would really appreciate it. I dont want to sell it to someone and get in any trouble for it not having what its supposed to.
Thank you for your time and help.

Firstly, the CS3 Design Prem comes with Photoshop Extended CS3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Acrobat Pro 8 as well as Bridge and and Vesion Cue.
Secondly, has the packaging been opened? If so, it could still be installed on a PC or rather Macintosh somewhere. If so, this makes it a trickier proposition with regards to installing it yourself or selling it on.
Don't quote me on this, but if the software is fresh and unopened or has been deactivated, you could upgrade to Design Prem CS4 Mac and then crossgrade to Design Prem Windows. Don't know if it's possible to crossgrade and upgrade in one fell swoop from Mac to Win. I suspect not - but will be happy to be proven wrong.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why do tangent games come with viruses out of the box?

I just received this computer and saw it had some games already installed so I tryed them out.  One Wild Tangent game (Diner Dash 2) had a trojan horse virus, and another had a different virus.  How does a virus get attached to a game that has never been opened?  I have since deleted all games associated with Wild Tangent.

IMHO I dont like games by WildTangent, may collect name, address, phone number, e-mail, and other contact information without the user's consent and could distribute the collected information with the user's consent. Concerns were also raised about the software's self-updating feature.  Some popular antispyware programs detect the program during their scans, such as Spybot, which classifies it as a potentially unwanted program.
    Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WildTangent
which OS do you have installed? If is Vista there is a great solution if not then uninstall them, btw they are not the best games you can find
Wild Tangent games is well-documented at a number of well-reputed malware databases and forums.

How did WildTangent get on my computer?
WildTangent is an online video game software company with partnerships with many companies like HP, Dell, Compaq, Logitech, AOL, and others. We package our games with their products such as computers and computer peripherals. We do not install our software onto your computer without your knowledge and consent.
If you have found WildTangent software on your computer, but didn't install it, it was installed onto your computer in the following ways:
Your computer manufacturer, such as HP, Dell, Compaq, or Gateway, preinstalled the software and games on your computer.
Playing any of our games, like Polar Bowler, Blasterball or Tradewinds, or any AIM Games, like Lexibox and WildCards, will install WildTangent on your computer.
Trying one of our games from our website partners like MSN Gaming Zone, Yahoo and Shockwave. To view all our games, please go to our WildGames website.
Someone in your household, especially children, has played or downloaded any one of our games.
It is not possible for our software to automatically install itself on your computer; it must be installed specifically by one of the methods we list above.

  • What software comes with the iMac ??

was going thru the ordering online screen and I can't find what software comes already loaded. Can someone point me to a link or give me a list?
I have heard that Apple offers something besides appleworks for wordprocessing? Is that true. I've never used anything but Apple word processing. Is MSWord offered now?
    thx - Craig

    Hi.
This is the iMac (Flat Panel) forum for G4 iMacs but I'm assuming that you will be purchasing a brand new Intel iMac so will provide details for those instead.
The following list is taken from this page (link)
Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger (includes Spotlight, Dashboard, Mail, iChat AV, Safari, Address Book, QuickTime, iCal, DVD Player, Xcode Developer Tools)
iLife ’06 (includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, iWeb, GarageBand),
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive*,
    iWork (30-day trial)*,
    Big Bang Board Games,
    Comic Life,
    Omni Outliner,
    Apple Hardware Test
    Front Row
    Photo Booth
    * despite Apple's TV Adverts both Microsoft Office and iWorks are both limited time trials. AppleWorks is still available for sale separately but is not optimized for Intel processors so has a limited life span. Therefore a proper word processor is no longer bundled with the iMac at all. Only the very basic TextEdit will allow you to type letters etc. You'll have to pay extra if you want more; so you could buy Word or Pages. Personally I'd recommend NeoOffice (link) which is a free download and unlike Microsoft Office is Intel native and compatible with Office2007.
    Hope that helps.
