  • What happens with bootcamp after ios update

    Hello,
I am about to update from ios 10.7 to 10.8 (Mountain Lion). What happens with my (data on) bootcamp? Do I need to reinstall it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Marcel Rombeek

iOS and Mac OS X are completely separate things, so I'm a bit confused. But assuming you're referring solely to updating Mac OS X, upgrading to Mountain Lion should not affect your Bootcamp partition in any way, though with Mountain Lion not yet released, we can't say with absolute certainty.

  • What Happened to AirPlay with iOS 8?

AIrPlay icon is missing on on iPad2 after upgrading to iOS 8. I have upgraded AppleTV to latest version and AirPlay works with iPhone 5 running iOS 8. Everything is connected to same Wi-Fi network. Is this a iOS 8 bug or is there some fix/work-around?

I had the same problem but only with my videos/movies (AirPlay button not there's), but got it to work with a work-around. What I did was open youtube (I did it with the PBS iPad app), which AirPlay worked, then hit pause on the program, then went to my videos, and click play and it hijacks the AirPlay and works.
LIsten Apple, this is #rottenApples, so please fix this. You really shouldn't screw with our entertainment.

  • What happened to Safari prompt before closing

Safari used to give  a prompt if you were closing multiple windows - when clicking on the red button.  In the current version that seems to have disappeared.  Can I get it back?

    helicopter,
In order to prevent multiple windows/tabs from being closed when ( + Q) is depressed, I changed the Safari keyboard command in System Preferences...>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts>Application Keyboard Shortcuts>Safari Quit to (Control +  + Q)
    ;~)

  • What happens if I install IOS 8 on my iPhone and then my Apple developer account expires.

If I upgrade to IOS 8 beta and my developer account expires will I still get over the air updates or would my iPhone stop working?

You would have a number of problems although your Phone would still work, bugs and all, until the software was released in the fall and you couldn't switch over in the developers site.
Either renew your developer account or stay away from the beta.

  • What happened to Safari?

Older iMac with 2GB memory. Really bogs down on some sites using Safari. Looked at memory use and vitrually gone. Changed to Firefox and no problem. Can't see buying more memory for Safari. Is Safari no longer viable?

I must admit mine is only about 200 MB real and 1 GB virtual - I never use tabs.
I suspect it is excessive tab use combined with the enforced regular reloading of all Safari 5.1 tabs in the background. This will slow everything as memory is continually moved to and from disk. Reducing tabs or eliminating them will probably dramatically reduce RAM use.

  • What happened to safari tabs

Hi there, I feel like a total dork. I just updated ipad to ios6.1. I opened up safari and none of the tabs I previously had open are showing.  Thanks for any help.

If you mean that your Safari Boomarks disappeared - try this.
Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • HT4623 what happens if you download iOS 7.1 and choose later for install?

I have an iPhone 4S and downloaded the iOS 7.1 software update, but chose "LATER" not install after the download finished.  See step 4. below.
I turned my phone off last night and when I turned it on this morning got a message that iOS 7.1 will begin installing in six seconds.  This is the same message I had after download, when I chose "LATER".  I'm not sure if I want to download and upgrade the iOS yet, as due to trael can't have my phone experience issues ion the next week.
Does anyone know if the download will try to install every time the phone restarts?
    below is from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623
    Update your device wirelessly
The easiest way to update your device is wirelessly, also called “over the air.” Here’s how:
Plug in your device to a power source.
Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Tap Download and Install to download the update. Updates might download automatically while your device is connected to Wi-Fi and a power source.
Tap Install when the download completes, or tap Later to install the update later.
Some iOS updates aren't available as over-the-air updates. VPN or proxy connections may prevent your device from contacting the iOS update servers.

  • What happened to my safari/internet?

What happened to safari/internet? I don't really know whether the problem is with my safari OR internet, but this thing suddenly just popped out of nowhere, at first it didn't really bother me.. But this thing has been annoying now, it will popped out around once every few minutes and it won't stop.. Can somebody help me?
    Thank you in advance

I don't actually understand much about these kinds of things, so I don't really know.. But now my first problem had turn into something, well how to put it.. it's not something worse but more annoying than before..
The problem is that, every time I open a new page or websites, it will always stop midway.. some are not even midway through which means the page is not "fully loaded". it will stop there, for "minutes or maybe even forever", and I realise that in order to fully open the page, I need to refresh the pages a couple of  times until it is "fully loaded".
At first, I thought maybe it's the internet, but then I learned that when I open videos for example "Youtube", the buffer is very smooth, as fast as always. But to open the "Youtube", I need to refresh my page a couple of times. So, the conclusion that I have is, the problem only affects me when I first open a new page, but when the page is already "fully loaded", it's just as smooth as ever...
Is this normal? I mean, is this only a temporary internet problem? OR is there something wrong with my computer/safari?

  • I updated iOS 7 and my contacts were ok then they suddenly disappeared a few weeks after updating. I have no idea if it has anything to do with iOS 7 but when I email someone the contacts are there. When I open the app they are gone. What happened?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If you downloaded the correct version for your iPad model (and the different models have different ipsw files), then you should be able to navigate to it in iTunes by pressing and holding the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button.

  • Siri Can't Post To Facebook "Sorry I'm afraid I can't post to your Facebook, I'm not sure what happened" iOS 8.3

I've had trouble with this for quite a while now. Not sure what the issue is. I have an iPhone 6+ running the current software iOS 8.3 & when I try to post a Facebook status through Siri she responds with something along the lines of "I'm sorry. I can't post to your Facebook. I'm not sure what happened." Not sure what's causing this issue as I have the Facebook app installed on my iPhone as well as being signed in through the settings app. Note: this is an issue only with Facebook. She is able to post tweets with no with no issue.
    Thanks for the help!
