What happen to User Interface Development under JDeveloper 9.0.3

Does anyone know what happen to the user interface development environment that was there under ver 9.0.2 but seems to be missing on ver 9.0.3

Are you talking about Swing graphical development?
If you are just right click on the Java file and choose the visual editor.

What happened to user restrictions on apps/sys prefs etc?

What happened to the user restrictions on system preferences and applications/utilities etc controls you used to have in the user account set-ups? (In Panther I think?) You used to be able to easily restrict a user to only certain applications and limited system preferences?
I can't seem to find it in Tiger (i'm running 10.4.8)? Have they changed this? I see you can have a admin, standard or modirated user - but this ability to restrict apps etc was essential for my machines.
Has it gone or am I just not looking in the right place?!

Problem in using Step into and Step Over button in Test Stand user interface development.

I am developing operator interface in VC++
currently I am facing a problem, I have created Teststand UI button controls dynamically on the dialog, I have assigned the buttons for break, Resume, Break all, Resume all, Step into and step over.
Break, Besume, Break all , Resume all buttons are working fine, the Step into and step over buttons are enabling if I break the execution, but after breaking the execution when I click the Step into button I expect that the current step will be executed and, breaks at the next statement, but when I click the Step Into button It is behaving like resume button, I mean the executioin is going on till the end of the sequence file, it is not breaking at the next statement,
Is my Step into button working the way it is supposed to be?, it is the same case with my step over button alsoI am connecting the TSUI button control to the execution view mgr in the CTestExecDlg:nDisplayExecutionApplicationMgr(LPDISPATCH exec, ExecutionDisplayReasons reason)

I'm not the original author of this post, but I have encountered a similar problem. My C# application has implemented the following "debug" buttons that work just fine: Run All, Pause, Continue, Stop. But my Step Over button causes the Sequence to run to completion. When the user clicks on the StepOver button, only one line is executed:
this.axExecutionViewMgr.Execution.StepOver();
but it behaves like its calling
this.axExecutionViewMgr.ResumeExecution();
Can you offer any insight into this issue?

What happens to users' data if their account is deleted?

I manage a number of macs in our lab. People come and go, and now it's time to delete some old accounts. If I just delete an account in the "accounts" section of system preferences, do their home directories and files therein get automatically deleted or do I need to go in and do it by hand (or else have a bunch of owner-less files taking up my disk space)? What's the best way to delete an account and everything owned by that user?

You get the choice. When you delete an account through System Preferences it will ask you if you want to delete their homespace immediately. If you say yes it trashes the homespace, otherwise you get a disk image of the homespace in the /Users/Deleted Users folder. HTH.

What happened to user/group preferences in lion server?

I am installing Lion server and using am using the new server admin tools. The user/groups function is very different than Leopard/Snow Leopard. Many of the parameters are missing. We use the group preferences to restrict access to printers. That function seems to be missing.

The print service has been eliminated from Lion so the old familiar way is gone.
However if you set up the Profile Manager service and then go to the management website of your server linked in the Server application, I believe you will be able to limit printers to specific users and groups. I have not implemented it yet, but I do remember seeing those options in there when I began looking at it. The difficulty with the Profile Manager is that it appears to require that the clients be 10.7. The new abilities in Profile Manager are actually pretty nice and seem easier to configure than WGM / Server Admin in my cursory review of the settings and options.
I am moving servers first so for me this is a bit of a challenge for me too since our clients are still 10.6. I had to bring computers and groups into the OD via WGM which will still cover the old machines. Control is split until all clients are up to date which is a little frustrating.
Have you set up the printers on the server itself and then edited the users/groups from WGM on the server itself which may allow you to still add the printers attached directly? It appears that you can still do that.

CS4 what happened to Contact Sheet II under Automate?

Just installed CS4 and was checking to make sure all the things I use on a regular basis is there. It seems that the Contact Sheet II has been removed. I found it up here on the download extra plug-in page but still didn't show up when I downloaded the plug-in. Thought I installed them correctly, but maybe not. Need this badly, use it for printing out thumbnails of all photo shoots. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hmmm, I didn't know the Output in Bridge was there. Need to check that out. Thanks guys for the heads up on that. If that doesn't work out I'll try to figure out how to install the contact sheet. Or, I could just leave CS3 on the computer and run the contact sheets in there. That might be the easiest solution for now at least until I get Output figured out.

I have another question about Bridge. I was trying to change the file extensions from psd to jpg on numerous images in Batch Rename and couldn't get it to work. I tried this in CS3 alsoto no avail. When I attempted it in CS3 the images would not show up in Bridge or open in Photoshop. All that showed was a windows icon and I got a "won't open because of program error" when I tried to open them. Now in CS4 I'm getting the thumbnails of the changed files in bridge, but still getting a won't open message in Photoshop when I try to open one. Will this work or am I doing something wrong?

What is with the user interface?

Just downloaded PSE8 to see if I want to upgrade from PSE6. Not really sure yet. For openers you cannot dump the 'Welcome Screen' and the choices are, you are going to get it whether you like it or not. Now for the 'user interface adjustment' under the Preferences>General tab. Great you can make it 'light'. I do like that, it's not as light as my old PSE5. I could never figure out why Adobe went to a black user interface? However, when you do make the user interface 'light', all the necessary buttons ie. file, edit, enhance, layer, etc. are so black you can't find them, let alone read them. It's sort of like hit or miss. I think the buttons should display white lettering when you change the user interface to light. You know, just so you can find them, either that or make the buttons in braille. Well that's my rant and question on PSE8. Why can't the programmers think of this stuff?

For openers you cannot dump the 'Welcome Screen' and the choices are, you are going to get it whether you like it or not.
You can make shortcuts on your Start menu or desktop to the Organizer and the Editor, bypassing the Welcome Screen entirely:

BPM Workspace Customization & User Interface: Best Practice Question

This is our first BPM Project in house and we are on Oracle BPM 11g.
The business process involves request for approval for a permit from a public user and internal users need to approve/reject the same. Pretty simple and straightforward so far.
But we are now having lots of questions wrt to user interface.
1. Work Space Changes.
If we develop this application completely in Oracle BPM, the outside user (general public) will also see the 'workspace' with its current interface. It would be impossible to handle user training on this interface for a simple Joe Bloe, who may not be computer savvy) So the requirement documents demand that the look and feel of the outside users should be totally different than what the workspace provides. They want this to be customized in such a way that iit would strip all of the default lay out (left navigation bar, and get rid of the upper section completely. with its list of tabs) and also to modify the task list that appears below).
We have figured out how to achieve this (by modifying the workspace .jar files and recompiling the same), but is this a good approach? What happens if we are developing a brand new application on the BPM in our shop? This change will affect that application as well, as the workspace is shared and common to all the apps? I want some of you experts to let us know, your thoughts on this. If this is not a recommended practice, what would be best way to achieve what we want using Oracle BPM? (Where we want a simple intuitive user interface, without the default add ons that comes with the work space)...
2. What would be the best method to create a user registration page (where a user creates his own login and password and maintains his account) for an application using the BPM ? Right now we are thinking this should be in either a ADF page/ JSP page or (worst case a PL SQL cartridge) that can be launched on the browser, which will be open and does not require any kind of authentication to access. Is this a good practice or recommended one? Or are we missing out on something within BPM application itself, that we are not aware of and that would let us do this?
3. Also, if we go with an external ADF application for the 'public' user interface developement, then how can we (or can we) leverage the BPM's internal storage for the submitted data from the payload? I understand that it stores this information currently on the server 'soa infra' tables some where? Thru an external ADF app, can we write into these tables (Is this recommended or just sounds plain ridiculous)???
Knowing answers to these questions will help us decide, if this is the right tool for the job at hand.

Yes, restricting FaceTime will make it disappear. You will need to remember the password to access restrictions in order to use FaceTime.

WhAT HAPPENED TO AE Plugin support????????

What happened to AE plugin support under FCP 5.1.1 Intel?
I was told that the plugins would run under Rossetta, and I purchased Color Finesse 2 (ouch!!!) and it does not work. The guy from synthetic aperture (company who makes CF) told me ,"Unfortunately, the Intel version of FCP 5.1.1 does not support After Effects plug-ins."
Is this true???
If so, we need to let Apple know that this is a disaster. AE Plugin support is one of the most attractive features of FCP expandability.

I can sympathise - just one of those IT timing things.
Been caught myself.
Sometimes you have to wait for full support, which is frequently out of Apple's control - eg Adobe is classic. (you might remember - What was the very last heavy hitting app to get written for OS X ? Yup - PhotoShop.)
Or have the workaround figured out in advance.

Tutorial on teststand user interface to cvi

I haven't used the CVI to TestSand User Interface since 2004. I've been put on an upgrade project to go from Windows 2000 to Winows 7, TestStand 3.0 to TestStand 2010, and CVI 7 to CVI 2010. Now I have to make the old UI work.
Are there any good tutorials out there on the CVI user interface for TestStand?
More specifically, I'm trying to figure out why the TS_EngineGetResourceString doesn't work now? (more specifically how does TS_EngineGetResourseString work)

Hi all, i'm new to Mac book & Xcode. I'm learning and facing problems while creating a new file for Xcode. Before i upgrade the software, i have no issue to create simple steps in apps. After upgrade Xcode to 4.6 version, i'm facing lot's of issue eg.
1) "the identity "iphone developer" doesn't match any valid certificate/ private key pair",
