    My Mac book pro keeps saying "connection time out occurred" I have a 2011 pro with all the latest updates. It keeps doing it and it really annoys me! Please help!

    Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    Restart the router. Many problems are solved that way.
    Step 2
    Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
    Step 3
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
    Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts.
    Step 4
    Back up all data.
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.
    Step 5
    You may need to change other settings on the router. See the guidelines linked below:
    Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    Potential sources of interference
    Step 6
    Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.

  • HTTP and HTTPS connections time out--only one computer on the LAN has this problem. Also affects Internet Explorer

    For the last few days HTTP and HTTPS connections on one computer on my LAN usually time out or fail to load completely. This also affects Internet Explorer on the same machine, but email, FTP, etc. seem to be working normally. The URLs that do not load in the browsers ping normally, and load normally on another machine on the same LAN. Running Firefox in Safe Mode does not help.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • Http connection time out

    Hi all,
    in my application i send a request to a server and then wait for the response and once i get the response i process it. in a case where any exception occurs at the server side and i don't receive a response back, my application hangs at the
    httpConnection.openInputStream();
    i want to give a time out for the connection ie, if the application does not recieve any response within the specified time i want to close the connection. What can i do for that?
    please help.

    In the Connector's construction method there's a boolean value you can specify that you want the connection to have a timeout value for that connection. As far as I know, the actual timeout value is device dependent.

  • BPC: SOA and setting connection time outs in BPC

    Hi All,
    can any one explain SOA architecture of BCP and how it improves performance?
    My understanding of SOA arcitecture is it breaks down large application into small modules called services.
    Here what are the services it is refering to?
    And in SOA arcitecture, is the client connected to server only when it requests for a service and connection terminates after the service is provided?
    If that is the case, what is the need for setting connection time outs to improve BPC performance.
    Any Help is Greatly appreciated.
    kranthi kumar

    SOA = services oriented architecture
    is a method for systems development and integration where functionality is grouped around business processes and packaged as interoperable services. SOA also describes IT infrastructure which allows different applications to exchange data with one another as they participate in business processes. The aim is a loose coupling of services with operating systems, programming languages and other technologies which underlie applications.[1] SOA separates functions into distinct units, or services[2], which are made accessible over a network in order that they can be combined and reused in the production of business applications.[3] These services communicate with each other by passing data from one service to another, or by coordinating an activity between two or more services. SOA concepts are often seen as built upon, and evolving from older concepts of distributed computing[3][2] and modular programming.
    So SOA is not implemented for performances reason and it is more for integration.

    Also, there may be other factors to consider depending on your scenario.  If you don't have it already, look at the latest <a href="http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700005909032005E/XI30XI70_TroubleGuide.pdf">XI Troubleshooting Guide</a> - Section 9.2 on "Timeouts in XI".

  • Connection time out  what does this mean?

    connection time out  what does this mean?

    Perhaps you could try this to resolve your issue:
    Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.

  • HT201210 i keep getting a error msg saying network connection time out.

    Im trying to updat my iphone to new software and keep getting a error msg saying network connection times out. Plz help!!!!

    Thank you for the reply.
    Yes, this error message is in regard to my MacBook Pro.  The reason it's filed here under iPhone is because the error message appeared again when I tried to updae iOS, again (and I wasn't allowed to because I need more room on my Startupdisk), so I simply clicked on the link taking me here to Apple Communities.   And yes I have already empited my trash (I did this each time I cleared old docs off my compuer, so this wasn't a solution for today).
    Might you have any other ideas?   I am really at a loss......
    Also, where is the Startup disk located?  I can't find any folder labeled "startup disk".   Am I supposed to find this folder and delete files from it?

  • How to display gauge progress refer to HTTP connection time taken

    Hi,
    I would like to know how can I display the gauge progress depend on the HTTP connection time taken.
    I have the source code below but it can't show the gauge progress parallel to the HTTP connection working.
    That's kind of those who solve me this problem.

                   in=connection.openInputStream();
                   int ch;
                   while ((ch=in.read())!=-1)
                        gauge.setValue(gauge.getValue() + 1);
                        buffer.append((char)ch);
                   String line=new String(buffer.toString());
                   int p=line.indexOf("AUD");
                   int p1=line.indexOf("CAN");
                   String a=line.substring(p+4,p+7);
                   String b=line.substring(p1+4,p1+7);
                   AUD=Long.parseLong(a);
                   CAN=Long.parseLong(b);
                   buffer=new StringBuffer();
              catch (IOException error)
                   Alert alert=new Alert("Error","Cannot connect",null,null);
                   alert.setTimeout(Alert.FOREVER);
                   alert.setType(AlertType.ERROR);
                   display.setCurrent(alert);
    }

    This code looks like it should work to update the progress during the connection but it is not going to start updating the guage until it has made the connection and is downloading data. If you want to show something on the screen during the time the program is doing Connector.open() you are going to need to have the update code in yet another thread or timer.

  • Connection time-out issues each first try of pacman

    Hi,
      I am new to arch. I keep getting a connection time-out each time I use pacman for the first time. I have to do a ctrl+z to stop the command and then delete the db.lck file and then when I run pacman again, any operation on pacman that I had tried works flawlessly.
      Do I need to do something to fix this? I check there was a similar thread in 2012, but it ended without any results.
    Cheers,
    Prashanth

    geekoo wrote:@WonderWoofy: The second time on it works with the same mirrors. I am using the Indian http mirror at the top of the list. US mirror follows. When it fails, it takes a sweet 30 odd minutes to run through all of the mirrors and fails.
    I'm pretty sure you can disable all the mirrors you don't want to use, try lowering the list to only those in Asia to minize your waiting time atleast. I get a time-out occasionally on the first run, but running anything inside China's GFW is a roll of the dice.

  • "connection time-out occurred" when my mac goes to sleep.

    When My macbook goes to sleep I get a "connection time-out occurred" when I try to connect to the internet. and I have to restart my mac and restart the router. The is always a BT hotspot page displayed on the screen.
    I have a 2011 macbook pro. This happens on my son's as well. he has the same model. he recently got a new retina display macbook and there hasn't been any problems. this doesn't happen on our phones either.
    -Thanks for any help

    I don't think the post can be edited after 10 or 15 minutes, what madking can do is ask host to remove it from this forum.
    In addition to my own post, here are the correct link.

  • How to increase database connection time out?

    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(.......
    If we use this con object, let say, after 5 hours, then exception occurs because connection has been closed. So how can we increase its connection time out so that we can use the same connection, let say, after 2 days?

    You don't want to keep a connection open for 2 days, use a connection pool.

  • E51 Wireless Lan - Net Connection Time Out

    Hi all,
    I cant get my E51 to open websites. It connects to my wireless LAN fine, but I get the message Net Connection Time Out when I try to browse to any website. Before the message comes up, it takes a minute or so of blank screen before the error message appears.
    I have a netgear router and I use WEP. The key is entered correctly.
    Has anyone come across this before?

    this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
    take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
    the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
    the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
    U can also update/reinstall ur firmware and see the result...
    Also use ur device without the memory card and see
    in case of ur memory card there are different options available to you to get rid of the corrupt/unwanted data in your card.
    menu--tools--memory---options---format memory card......
    remember everything including ur factory installed apps will be deleted......... but u can always download them later either from nokia or google them...
    or insert ur card in any reader or laptop and check for virus and also the hidden folders.......
