What happened recently to my "sent" file?

today I opened up Mozilla and have no way to get into my "sent" messages.

How about stating what you see now. It is pretty hard to tell you how to get somewhere when we do not know where you are starting.
A screen shot of what you see would be the most helpful.

  • HT5628 What happens to all of my files and what will happen to my iwork apps if I decide to switch to windows

I have recently wanted to switch to the windows platform so I could get more games from steam.  I was wondering what happens to all of my files and what will happen to Mac apps like iwork.  Will I have to purchase the microsoft version?

Nothing happens to your files and "Mac apps". You install Windows on a new partition separate from OSx. Read the Boot Camp manuals. http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

  • What happens to versions data when files are deleted ?

When working on a document with an application using autosave, I understand modifications are regularly saved together with the actual state of the file. When such file is dulicated, history and the different versions are not duplicated.
My question is, what happens to the versions data if the original file is deleted and is the space used for all versions reclaimed ?
Working with big documents on SSD disk could be a problem seems to me.
    Thanks for your comments.

    Hi Tony,
As soon as data is deleted from the cube, Data will not be available for reporting. because for any reports data is fetched from Tables, for DSO they will fetch from Active table.
So you will receive a message Data not found, if the data is deleted from Cube's table.
Assign some points, if this is helpful.

  • What happened to right click on file name in Indesign CS4?

I just upgraded to CS4, does anyone know what happened to being able to right click on indesign (open) file name to see where on your system it is filed? I can still do this in other programmes.

Firefox doesn't have such context menu entries for "Open Bookmark ...". So it looks that there has been a problem with the extension that added them and that started working again.

  • What happened to my "Photoshop JPEG file" format?

On my previous two computers -- a G5 running 10.4, a MacBookPro on 10.5, both using Photoshop CS3 -- I used to have two kinds of JPEG files. One was listed in the Finder as "JPEG file," and that opened in Preview; the other was "Photoshop JPEG file," which would open Photoshop.
On my new setup, a MacMini on 10.7 using Photoshop CS5, there are no Photoshop JPEG files, just plain JPEG files that open in Preview.
I need to get the two formats back, as the difference helped me determine which images I had worked on and aided in my photo workflow. I don't want to change all files to Open With Photoshop in Get Info, as that doesn't solve the problem.
Is this something in the Finder? Photoshop? Preferences? How do I get that functionality back? Thanks.

Filname extensions are already on. Also, I typically save most of my images as jpegs so -- for example -- I can send them off to labs, which usually don't accept straight Photoshop PSD files.
I guess what I need to know is whether the separate "Photoshop JPEG File" format has been removed completely from OS 10.7, or can it be restored. It would be a shame if it's gone, as it was a handy function.

  • What happened to ability to transfer files to mobile apps in iTunes?

I used to be able to transfer files from my Mac to my iPad app using iTunes. Since the ITunes update last Nov/Dec/ 2012, the process as explained in the help file no longer exists. Is there a new way to do it?

Nothing happened to File Sharing but the appearance of iTunes has changed. It confused me at first also. Here's how to do it.
Are you looking in the right place to find the shared files on your Mac?
First thing you need to do is on your iPad. Share the files you want to transfer by selecting Share > iTunes.
Start iTunes on your Mac. Is it iTunes 11? If so use the View menu in iTunes to select View Sidebar.
Then connect your iPad to your Mac.
Select your iPad in the left sidebar.
Select Apps in the row of tabs in the right window of iTunes.
Scroll down under Apps to the File Sharing section. It is below the complete list of apps.
You should see a list of the shared files or a folder that contains the files. Use the Copy To... Button ( if there is one ) to copy the shared files to your Mac.
The problem I had originally was the scrolling. There are two windows of apps. Each window can scroll within its own window. So scrolling n the tp window of apps will get you to the bottom of that window but not down to the next section which is the file sharing area. Scroll by using the outer most scroll bar if you have one or if in Mountain Lion place the cursor near the left edge of the apps area to scroll to the lower File Sharing area.

  • What happened to my thumbnail cache files? says they do not have read/write access.

I was opeing Fc Studio 2, when the box popped up which said: Thumbnail cache files does not have read/write access. i pressed Ok and the program closed, so I can't fix the access. What do i do?

Thumbnail cache files will be re-generated if you trash them, so you can simply delete them.
A better question would be: Why is FCS reporting this?  At a minimum you should repair your permissions, and run Disk Warrior on your data drive. If the message returns, think about trashing your prefs.

  • What happened to importing plain text files in iTunes?

I used to be able to export the playlist containing all the music I wanted to listen to as a plain text file. I would then import this file into a spread sheet, sort as I desired, assign each song a number, sort on that number and save the resulting groups to plain text files. I would then import these text files as playlists. It appears that this capability has disappeared in the current version of iTunes. I am capable of working with the xml if I have to, but that is more effort than I think is necessary. Have I missed something?

I have been thinking about what you are suggesting and even with your last reply it does not solve the problem. I suspect you still do not see what I am driving towards. I have playlists for all songs with 5 starts, all songs with 4 stars, all songs with number of plays less than n. I also have playlists of those three that have not been played in n days. I listen to those sometimes. I also listen to my existing playlists which contain subsets all music not christmas and have at least a 3 start rating. This last set is not smart at present. With the current setup, music in those first 3 playlists get played more often. Any smart playlist that has to include not played in the last x will not play those songs more often unless I play those playlists more often. At present, to generate those non smart playlists I export, divide, and import information. Apple has changed the format it accepts on input. I either have to accept their new import method and start programming, or find a smart playlist method that solves this problem. I do not believe that anything yet suggested for smart solves the problem. The closest I have come is 3 playlists. One smart and two dumb. The smart one is all songs with rating above 3 and not christmas that have not been played in last x and is not in the two dumb ones and limit to 100. The dumb ones start empty. Let it populate, drag the list to one of the dumb ones. Let the smart one recompute. Drag it to the second dumb one. Play one list on each device. When playlist finishes, blank the dumb one for that device, sync, let iTunes repopulate the smart list, drag to dumb list and sync again. In the long term, I think I am better off programming.

  • When the System Disk protection is active, What happens to the virus pattern file?

    Hello! all.
I evaluate MPS2012 in our test environment in which we don't have connection to Internet.
I understand that the change on the system drive is reset When system drive protection is effective.
But I would like to except both Virus pattern files and Windows update from this protection.
Can these update avoid resetting in MPS2012 ?

    Good morning,
IF your Hard Drive does crash, anything contained on the drive will be potentially lost, this includes personal data files, applications, serial numbers, preferences, and so on. To prevent this data loss you should back up all important information, such as personal data files, serial numbers, preferences to either your [.Mac|http://www.mac.com] Account or other backup source to insure that you can continue to use your computer as normal.
Most applications can be recovered through the developer's site (non-commercial) and they will most of the time email you your license information back to the address you have registered with them so it isn't that large of a deal, however, backups are always important!
    Hope this helps! 
    David

  • What happened to "question" I sent in a few minutes ago??

  • HT2518 what happens if i abort transferring files to another computer?

I am considering stopping the transfer of files to my new macbook from my imac. should i do this?

Were you copying an entire disk?  If so you could use DU to erase the entire drive.  This is the fastest way to erase an entire drive.
But if you were just dragging selected files and folders to the destination and have stuff on the destination you need to keep, then you cannot erase the entire drive.  You have to toss it in the trash.  And if it's a large number of files it could take quite a long time.
There are faster ways to delete large numbers of files.  But that involves terminal so I won't post it in this context.

  • HT4929 Even after I move to icloud, Lion download, etc., what happens to my saved email file folders? Do I leave them? Move them? Lose them?

I have downloaded Lion, etc, have a moblie me account that I have not moved to the cloud.
I have a lot of email folders with emails and links to websites, etc. that I don't want to lose.
After June 30th, will I still have these saved folders if I've moved to icloud prior to that date,
or do I need to move everything to a hard drive or a gmail account? Not sure what to do to
    save all of this.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
All your mail should migrate from Mobile Me to your iCloud Mail account. If you are at all worried, alt-drag the mail to a folder in your 'on my Mac' account to copy it, to serve as a back up.

  • What happened to /etc/logrotate.d/crond?

It seems that a recent upgrade removed /etc/logrotate.d/crond and saved a /etc/logrotate.d/crond.pacsave file.
What happened to the original crond file -- is it no longer used? Also, is there a tool or feature provided by pacman that could help me determine the reason for changes like this in the future, maybe something that allows me to find and read release notes?
I tried searching around the forums but found nothing. Thanks in advance for the help.

cron's logging is now handled by syslog-ng, so this file has been merged into /etc/logrotate.d/syslog-ng. Note also that the logfile name has changed from cron.log to crond.log.
This happened months ago. It was talked about at the time, mostly on arch-dev-public and in the bugtracker.

  • What happens to library when uninstalling iTunes? Please!!

    Silly question, I know...
But as I'm experiencing the same problem as everyone else after updating to I Tunes 6 (computer crash + ipod not recognized by itunes), I want to uninstall and reinstall it...
So, what happens to all my music files after I uninstall itunes?? Will they still be there after reinstall or lost forever??
    Thanks for your answers.

I always wondered if my music would be gone if I uninstalled iTunes. It does not erase you're music.
This might not be exactly the same problem but lots of people (myself included) had problems after installing iTunes 6.0. I did the following and it finally installed correctly.
    I went to
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
and downloaded the Cleanup utility near the bottom of that page. When it installs on your machine it will scan your computer for every installer every ran on you're machine. Only select iTunes and Qtime and delete those 2 installers. Then I went to add/remove programs and removed iTunes and Qtime. Prior to this Qtime would not unistall but now it did. Funny thing was there was no prompting by windows once I hit "remove/repair" in the "add/remove programs" function.
Then rerun the iTunes 6.0.1 update. That had been failing to install Qtime prior to this but now it installed and I see all my music again and iTunes works. Let me know if this does the trick, I hope so.
