What Happened??? Suddenly Flash Player 10 Is Working Again!!
I'm running Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP (sp3), and ever
since installing the Flash Player 10 update, have been running
across an increasing number of websites (requiring Flash Player)
that suddenly weren't working, and almost all reporting that I
needed to update to Flash Player 9, or greater.
Yesterday (2/10/09), after installing all of the new Windows
updates at Microsoft's website, Flash Player 10 was suddenly
working again at ALL the sites where it was failing previously
(Weekly ads at BestBuy.com, Target.com, Kmart.com; various
pages/videos at Rifftrax.com, and MySpace.com; etc., etc.).
The only reason I mention this, is because I know MANY people
have been having similar issues with FP 10, and may posssibly
benefit from the "solution" I happened to stumble across, by
installing the latest Windows updates. However, since I can't
ABSOLUTELY state that it was one of these updates that (FINALLY!!!)
rescued me, I thought I'd throw it out there on the off-chance it
helps someone else.
BTW, if anyone might know something more about this, and have
some clue as to specifically which update may have cleared up this
Flash Player problem (Cumulative Security Update for Internet
Explorer 7 for Windows XP ???), your input would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!
Don't worry, "Gary", I am; I
truly am.
I posted this, not to gloat (if that's how it happened to
come off), but in hopes that someone else is lucky enough to be
able to clear up this (maddening) Flash Player problem with the
same (relatively) simple solution.
That being said, I do realize it's possible the downloading
and installation of Windows updates may just have been coincidental
with the "true" solution to getting FP 10 to function properly
again on my computer, but until I'm able to confirm what actually
"solved" this particular problem, I have to assume the possibility
exists this
might work for someone else.....

Flash 11.7.700.225
It seems like, no matter what I do, Flash player will not work. Keep in mind that I have already tried disabling/enabling both the plugin that comes with Chrome, along with the plugin that you can manually install from Adobe, and that alone doesn't solve my problem.
If I try to play videos on Youtube, I get one of four results:
1) "This video is currently unavailable," which can come up if I have one of the plugins enabled. I can sometimes solve this by disabling both plugins, but that only works about 25% of the time.
2) The Youtube player just shows black and nothing else. No audio/video and no indication that anything is playing. Like with #1, this can also come up if I have a plugin enabled, and can sometimes be solved like in #1. But again, this only works semi-occasionally.
3) I get the prompt to update my flash player. This can come up if I have both plugins disabled, and I have yet to find a solution for it (yes, I've already uninstalled flash with Adobe's official uninstaller, and reinstalled it to confirm I have the most recent version). If I enable any of the two plugins, I get an error message like in either #1 or #2.
4) The video plays fine. This only happens about 10% of the time, and is split half/half in terms of requiring the plugin on/off.
So far, I have done the following in order to solve my flash problem, to no avail:
-disabled/enabled both plugins (mentioned above)
-uinstalled/reinstalled Flash Player using Adobe's official programs (mentioned above)
-tried using Firefox
-tried using the HTML5 player as an alternative (never works)
-disabled/reenabled every plugin one by one
-disabled/reenabled all extensions, and even tried browsing in Incognito Mode
-tried making an exception for Flash in Windows Firewall
-scanned for and cleaned up any viruses/malware/adware/spywareMecha Panda wrote:

The first thing I would try is to update the graphics drivers; see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765 -
Flash Player Has Stopped Working!
All of a sudden, flash player has stopped working on my computer. I have a 64-bit PC, running Windows 7. Flash was running perfectly one day; the next it was not. Hasn't worked since. I've tried downloading the latest version and even installing an older version. Still does not work! (No changes or additions were made to the computer to cause this problem.) Any ideas as to what might be going on and how to fix it? I've done all I know how to do.

I don't understand why this is happening, but Flash Player will not work when a Standard User is using the browser. It will only work when the browser is run as an administrator. Any way to fix this? I've tried to uninstall, and reinstall the player, and it still wouldn't work.
The user is on Windows 7, 64-bit. Using IE 10.
Flash not working for Standard User - YouTubeAny update to provide at all here guys? Again, in my situation, it's very much rights-related as a standard user doesn't even report that the flash player exists when testing it on the Adobe Flash Version Detection website (despite it showing up in Control Panel and under Add/Remove Programs). I've already tried giving the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and files/subfolders appropriate permissions for the standard user and still nothing. If I either give the user in question full local admin rights or logon as the domain admin, then the Adobe Flash Version Detection website says Flash is installed and Flash works fine.

I'm just gonna keep updating this as I can't really do anything else. I've found several more questions like mine with no answers. I did find one with an answer that mentions that it may be the video card acting up, so I'm gonna post a screenshot of my information.

I posted this question on the 25th, and have yet to receive an answer. Because of this crashing problem, I can't do anything on my computer outside of play solitaire, and hang around Adobe communities looking for an answer. I've found several questions like mine (Mac, firefox, flash player constantly crashing) that have no answers either, and I'm getting upset. I've been floating around Mozilla and Apple's help sections, and there's no answer there either. How do I get an answer? Or is there just no fix for this issue and Flash player doesn't work on mac anymore? Is there another program that I can use in place of Flash player? I would very much like an answer, response, or anything cause I stuck here till then. Thank you for you time.

What can I do if Flash Player is not working at all?
MacBook Pro 10.6.8
Firefox 36.0 no plugins
Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305
Hello,
Since last week, Adobe Flash Player has not worked on my computer at all. I can't watch any videos, and any webpage using Flash for the ads crashes. I tried using Adblock initially thinking that the ads were the problem because they have frozen my computer in the past. This did nothing, so I went through the trouble shooting guide for Flash on Mozilla's website. I removed all plugins, disabled hardware acceleration, and even uninstalled Firefox and Flash player then reinstalled them again. It still keeps crashing, and I don't know what to do anymore. Is there anything that can be done? Thank you for your time.

adobe flash player 11 doesen't works on 10.8.1! what can i do? whats the best flash player for mac?
First try deleting Flash Player by carefully following the instructions on Adobe's website:

Then install it again from this location only:

Flash player is not working - what do I do?
I have a PC. Flash Player used to work on it - now, all of a sudden it doesn't. How do we fix this?
Thanks.First, update to Firefox 13.0.1. Version 8.0.1 (which you are running) is very out of date, insecure and has known bugs.
After doing that, does Flash work? If not, you are likely the victim of a known flash issue on Windows right now. Try reading [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]] and trying the solutions listed there. -
What flash player version will work on BBC news streaming?
What Flash player version will work to run BBC news streaming on my Mum's old imac OS 10.4.11 ? Th version Flash 10.3 will not install and an earlier version download 10 may do the trick. Anyone know how to fix this or where to get such a download?
Adobe don't seem to offer an alternative.
Any ideas please.
Jeff293The latest flash version for OS 10.4.11 is v10,1,85,3 which can be downloaded from: Macromedia/Adobe Flash Player
Check Flash Version
Adobe strongly recommends that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157 Follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. Repair permissions and restart your computer after the installation is completed.

All of a Sudden, My Flash Player Has Stopped Working
Early Friday afternoon (just yesterday), my Flash Player was working fine. I am using Mozilla's Firefox on a Windows 7 computer (Dell Inspiron 530S). Then, inexplicably, it failed. Several websites reported that something couldn't be displayed because I didn't have Adobe's Flash Player installed. Gotta tell you, I wasn't making any changes to the operating system nor to the browser. In fact, I wasn't changing ANY of my settings on ANY computer. Then Friday evening, Flash Player simply stopped working.
I UN-installed the existing program, re-booted, then RE-installed Flash Player and, again, there is no message saying INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY. Could any of these be a delayed result of the the latest version of Firefox, which was released on 9/30/2011, about a week ago?
Now, I can't even install the Acrobat after uninstalling IT.
Any ideas?

From IE go to the Tools menu and deselect ActiveX Filtering.
That's it!
If this works for you, please spread the word! I spent hours loading older versions of Flash, configuring Pop-Up Blocker, and generally tearing my hair out.
How would that possibly help resolving the o/p's problem with Firefox...?
Also, why did you spend hours when your solution is right here in the FAQ on top of the forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968 -

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8. Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?
Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot. -
Flash player still not working after following all discussion advice
Requested information: I have Internet explorer 9/ using 32 bit on 64 bit computer/windows 7/flash player 10.2 version
I contracted what my husband called a "rider" virus when I opened a knitting pattern of all things and if I understood it correctly was one of the anti-malware viruses talked about. My husband was able to remove the virus but like others have said here, my flash player will not work. My computer is only 3 months old!
Here is what we have done:
1: First removed all flash player and shock wave
2: I have run a full scan with my Mcafee program, then ran a full scan and quick scan too with my malwarebytes program. Everything in both is now clean. I then rebooted (I also even tried doing all of this in safe mode too with nothing changing)
3: came online and read a bazillion threads about others problems and tried every suggestion pretty much including those below
4: husband checked the kill bit (d27 thingy) and it was not there
5: reinstalled flash player and shock after running the scans and though they show up in my programs when I looked at the add ons as suggest to others the
neither shockwave or Flash Object was there
6: uninstalled everything again
So now I am back to where I started with nothing installed because I still have an issue and we don't know what it is. I truly appreciate your help in any way as it is frustrating that none of the other suggestions have helped.
this may not as my grandma used to say have anything to do with the price of rice in china, but we do keep getting a short freeze up on the computer followed by a message that the display driver stopped responding and recovered then it works again, but it does happen fairly frequently and this has been since the virus. I am showing everything is clean though with regards to virus scans and malware spyware scans.Just when I thought I would finally find the answer you sent a message offline, which didn't help me a bit.
I have the same problem. My wife got a virus and I was able to uninstall it by poking around. After killing the virus IE would not run. I found some messages on the internet which enabled me to solve that problem by making some registry changes. However, I still have not been able to get IE to run flash. I do have it running in FireFox.
What was the step that you sent in private email that enabled him top solve the problem?
Thanks -
I use chrome on windows. Every time I am on Facebook and I am trying to play a game I get a message that says flash player has stopped working. How do i make it work?
Hi juderocks14,
Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)

What happens if I turn off Windows Media Player?
