What happened to 3G on my iPhone 4s?

i've had 3 iPhones, all on AT&T. My 3GS and my 4 both display two network icons: E and 3G. but then I got my iPhone 4s, and I noticed a new icon: AT&T 4G. Ever since day one, I've only seen EDGE and 4G. What happened to the AT&T 3G network icon on the iPhone 4s? Shouldn't it say 3G as I dont think the iPhone 4s is a 4G LTE phone

a reset no data loss. hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.
Or settings - general - reset - reset network settings.

A restore may help your iphone - it is one of the troubleshooting steps. Page 141 of the manual:

I gave you the link to the Apple article to determine hardware failure earlier. If those steps or a reset, restore don't work then you need to call or visit Apple for a replacement.

iOS is then installed.
You then get an option to install the previous backup or as a New device.

Was this book downloaded using iBooks, or from another application? If it was from iBooks you will need to install that application to delete it.

What happens after 1st year on iPhone contract,ie if in Month 13 get a prob

I'm thinking of signing upto a new iPhone on an 18month contract in UK
I know everything has a 1year warranty and I know you can pay extra for AppleCare, or mobile phone insurance but I wont be.
So what happens after 1st year if you get a problem with the iPhone? who is responsible? is it Apple or O2? and will it be fixed for free?
bit nervous as its an expensive gadget and if a prob occurs after 1 year?

Still, the warranty is no different than any other warranty on every other product you have ever owned. It is for a specified period (one year being a good length compared to other phones/computers,etc).
Do you worry this much over every other product that you buy?
Do all of the other products that you own break right after the warranty expires?
I always get Applecare and have only had to use it once ( a cd drive on a laptop needed to be replaced).
I have dropped my iphone more than once and it is fine.

Yep, when you restore it you will lose everything you had on your iPhone. If possible, sync the iPhone and make sure it is backed up before you do the restore.

If your insurance company provides a new phone, or pays for replacement, and you then find the phone you lost, you need to immediately call the insurance company. Legally the old phone belongs to them (since they paid for its replacement), but the policy may call for specific remedies in such circumstances. Only your insurance company can tell you how to proceed.

What happens with iTunes and your iPhone when you change computers ?

Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of getting a new computer. I got an iPhone 3GS and I love it. However I was wondering. If I buy a new computer will it be able to let me use my iPhone on iTunes like I did in the past. I know I'll have to transfer my iTunes Library etc.
My question to explain my concern simply is: let's say I keep my iPhone for the next ten years, if each year I get a new computer and throw away the old one, will I be able each time to use it with my new computer ?
Or does it have some sort of link with the PC like Win XP's licence where if you change the motherboard Microsoft won't let you reactivate Windows as it considers it's another PC (with OEM licences).
Sorry for the dumb question but I couldn't find any infos on that.

Move everything that you want to keep to the new computer ( pics,docs, contacts, calendars, etc.).

What 5 computer thingy? You can authorize up to five computers to play itunes protected music purchases ( pre-itunes plus). This has nothing to do with ipod/iphones. When you finish moving everything from the old computer to the new, just de-authorize the old one.
When you sync to another computer, it will erase the content from the iphone and replace with content from the new computer. This is why you need to move everything to the new computer first.

OS 5 updatee, I can get anything to do what it needs to do. I have added all of my apps to my computer file, even updated those that needed to be updated. When I finally get ready to up date to OS5 and hit the prompt, I am sent to a ;paid that tells me everything that will be updated, but there is nothing on theat page re uiring me to accept. So I close that page and hit download again, and I get to the page again. If I hit syns, I am syncing 1 out of 4, however it barely makes through the 1st backup, or sync---I'm not even sure what it is doing because sometimes it refers to sync, whi;le other times if refers to back up. Can someone help me? I've been working on this now for 2 solid weeks and it is very frustrating. ould I be signed in to my itunes account before I plug in my usb attaching my phone? Should my phone be ON and should I uno that It is completely on? I don't remember having to do this before. I am NOT using a MAC. I.m using Windows 7, just as I always have,.
