What happened to 4.0's icon that had a few quick tabs when u touched it

u know right after re doing the update (restore) when the phone is fresh with 4.0 and it has a new app that when touched it has a few of the iphones apps like a pic of home and a few other icons? what happens to that when I re-STORE from my backup? You know its like an icon that is a FAST way to other iphone apps, I assume its to make your own super fast shortcuts kind of like the bottom of the home screen helps make life easier? Dose anyone know what Im talking about? I think its called

well its on myy phone when i restore fully, but when i do the restore from back up its gone!

That would NOT be correct. The missing icon is the ONE I'd ''moved'' to my quick start to clear my desk top - years ago and it's been great! Now I don't have ANY. I really wish programs like Firefox would leave these kinds of things alone when "upgrading." Thanks.

If the photos are not in the Masters folder and not elsewhere on your drive or not in a backup copy of the library they're gone.
If yhou don't have a backup stragety in place maybe it's time to do so to avoid future losses like this. An external HD and Time Machine is the easiest to implement.

Well in order to keep all the ratings, playcounts ect ect of songs in iTUnes, place the songs back into there original folders/places on the "Old harddrive" by cutting (Not copying) them from the new Harddrive. Now iTunes should report the songs has being there and have ! marks beside the imported folder from your external Harddrive.
Now you will delet the dead/broken links (Or missing music from the new drive)in iTUnes. Goto Ottos site for a script that will remove dead links and other things here

Now with everything in place and the dead links removed you will either consolidate the library or set it to copy to another Folder. If you consolidate it moves ALL your music listed in iTunes to the "iTunes Music" folder and can not be reversed. If you set it to copy, it will just copy music from its current folder to the iTunes music folder. You will have to pick the best option for you but consolidating will work best if your trying to free up space. To consolidate goto "Advanced" and select "Consolidate Library". To copy goto Edit>preferenses>Advanced tab>general sub tab and check "Copy FIles to iTunes music Folder when added to library". THis location is also where you will change the location of iTunes Music folder from your old harddrive to the new one by hitting the "Change" button above the reset button

Just upgraded to 5 from 3 - what happened to the page select icon? Can't find it in customize toolbars.

Used to be you could select which page you wished to go back or forward to from the arrow icons on the navigation toolbar. The history menu item only shows 10 sites without having to open history for today. What happened? Is there another icon or a new plug in for this functionality? I used it all the time.

The back/forward buttons have been moved to right-hand side of the navigation bar and the drop-down was removed. User right-click or hold click for one second to see the tab history. This is item #5 in my list.
The History menu also has "Open Previous session" and "Open closed windows",
to see more history use the History sidebar ("Ctrl+H") or the History Library List ("Ctrl+Shift+H") and sort or view by "Last visited".

In the Customize window, is there an icon with a label under it saying "Download Helper"? If so, drag it to the toolbar. Many extensions/add-ons place their icons in the Customize window and the user must put them on the toolbar. Unfortunely, all movies and songs purchased in iTunes will be lost...you'll have to purchase them again! Any applications you've purchased, you can download again for free.

The windex was sprayed on the cloth, not the keyboard. And only one or two pumps on a hand towel. No liquid seeped between the keys the towel was barely damp. You are saying the ammonia gas created the problem?
I think It was more an issue of multiple keys being depressed at the same time that screwed up the configuration. That is why I need to "reboot" the keyboard.

What happened to the red circle icon showing unread mail messages?

I have an iPhone 5, version 7.1.1. The Mail icon used to show me the number of unread messages I had with a white number in a red circle in the upper right hand corner of the icon. For some reason, it no longer does. Any thoughts on what might have happened or how I might be able to fix it?

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:

What happened to the reload icon that used to appear at the upper left of the screen? Doing a right mouse click and then clicking on the drop down menu is very cumbersome. I need to refresh screens very often to get current real time activity. How can I restore this icon?

The screen reload icon is usually in the address bar (the big white bar at the top of your screen with http:// or www. in it) at the right hand side. What happened to the drop down list that said recent bookmarks?

On Firefox to the right side of the page, there is a little star, and when you move your mouse on it, it
will say, bookmark this page. Next to the star is a little icon, that says show your bookmarks.
So, when I use to click on that icon, it would say most recent bookmarks, along with bookmarks toolbar, and unsorted
bookmarks. I would like to know what happened to the icon that said, most recent bookmarks, or recently added bookmarks.
I would appreciate any help in this matter.

With the iTunes runtime error, the only solution seems to be to uninstall iTunes. If I can't open iTunes as it currently the case because of this issue, therefore I can't backup. What happens to all the audio CDs, books, etc. that I've uploaded to iTunes that I didn't purchase through iTunes when uninstalling. Can I be assured that these are in the Cloud also?

You don't need iTunes to be working to backup the library. You do need iTunes to be working to backup or restore your device...

I have a 64b iPad and a lot of the storage is used up with data stored inside apps. Some of these data stores are 10s of GB in size. Such as, I keep some videos on my iPad that I play with VLC player. When I upgraded the iPad to iOS5 and activated iCloud backup, it immediately told me there wasn't enough room to back up my iPad entirely. I turned off backing up certain apps, such as VLC.
What happens to these apps? Are they still backed up during regular syncs with your Mac?

when you plug into itunes you can backup to both locations (icloud and locally) just not a the same time. When you click on your phone in itunes you'll see this option
click icloud then sync (will backup to icloud when you sync)
afterwords
click back to this computer and sync
keep in mind that if icloud has a 5GB backup limite unless you upgrade it
10GB — $20/year
25GB — $40/year
50GB — $100/year
edit: forgot to say
if you don't sync with itunes to the computer then whatever doesn't go to icloud is not backed up at all.
